@@homuculoid3320 it’s not really shit it’s more or less just being used by someone who hasn’t had a lot of experience with it or just coward in the case of knight Titus and then there’s Cooper knows about the flaws of it since he used it
@TharodinTharo Like Titus, that's supposed to be a seasoned knight? Who turns tail when facing the bear instead of flying or crushing the bears throat. Nope, plot got to happen and he's gotta lose bc he's dumb and evil ig. Love the part he's threatening Max while also asking to save his life peak writing I'd say.
Yeah it had me scratching my head. Gulpers were mutated salamanders in the Fallout lore, but I don't recall them being human hybrids. All I will say is keep watching the series.
@@jitteryjet7525my guess is maybe, since Axolotl’s have that thing where they can regenerate/grow things like body parts of themselves stitched to different parts of their body, maybe those fingers are remnants of past human prey? Not sure about it’s arms though
Especially Charon in Fallout 3, he had been my follower for 2 mins, moment we got outside the museum he led a mad charge for the Supermutants I then got the notification *Your follower has died* 😢
@@ashwolf2006 Cazadores....triggered flashbacks and a 10 mile stare, you mentioned cazadores the name of my pain is cazadores, as a sniper stealth character with low strength and endurance I would literally get destroyed by them they could close the distance so fast.
i love how they made the fo4 Assault Rifle make sense in lore. it’s not a replacement for the actual assault rifles, it’s an assault rifle made for someone power armor sized!
Which is how it should've been used back in Fallout 4. It should've been called the Power Armor Rifle and is best used in the hands of someone in power armor, whilst without power armor it would basically be a clunky and slow to use weapon like a rocket launcher or fat man
That's exactly why the guns are so oversized in Fallout 4. They primarily designed them for power armor which is bad because not everyone uses power armor.
@@DEFC0NZER0agreed. I have no Idea how our character can lug those bulky steel rifles around. Proly wouldn't have much recoil at all if you were strong enough to lift it and aim it but damn would it be fatiguing to carry
@@user-qg3nj1sv8jto be fair fighting a toothless axolotl isnt quite as threatening as a giant mutant bear that can throw around someone in full power armor with a slap.
2:41 I love the contrast they made with Maximus, and Titus. When Titus was shouting “Fuck fuck fuck!” He was afraid and running away from the danger, leaving Maximus to die. When Maximus does it, he runs towards the danger to rescue his squire. Already proving he deserves that armor more.
I'm glad that Maximus stopped straight up bullying Thaddeus after a while. After everything Thaddeus did Max still told him to retreat, he is more of a knight than titus ever was
Neat little detail. Maximus fires 9 rounds at the Gulper before his pistol runs out of ammo. At 1:54 you can see that he has 9 bullets on his heads up display.
@@CPS747-8when we see he’s face the the bottom left you see 6 numbers 3 on top of another almost all of them are 0 but the top left one has a number different form the rest.
Fingers are to remove choke hazards etc, like how our own human fingers work on a candy bar, that is why Lucy lost her boot at 1:10.....that is even more cursed.
I love that they made the power armor a physical things someone wears but the downside to that is anytime they are moving or fighting it feels very clunky and slow very realistic as armor like that wouldn’t be the most mobile thing ever but over the games it’s just been shown power armor being just like normal armor just better but I prefer this over them doing cgi and it looking bad
Agreed, although a nice middle ground would have also been OK in my opinion ala the iron man films which used real chest shoulders and helmet blended with cgi lower body and arms. This sounds strange but ensures that the realism doesn't die as you get closer to the subject a close up dramatic shot of someone's head/face isn't ruined by obvious cgi around it making it look like a scene from space jam (human in a cartoon) and wide action/establishing shots have fluidity in the suit/joints as any clipping would be hard to make out or not hide with lighting and fx
It was shown over all of the games "you need special training as it effects muscles differently" -brotherhood paladin in Fallout 3 at the Citadel. It is clunky to a degree but it's "powered". Cars, fighter planes, and all powered equipment isn't clunky and slow unless designed that way.
I love that here is Power Armor, they look cool as shit but damn where are the Energy Weapons? I thought the Brotherhood of Steel uses them a lot? At least Brotherhood in New Vegas. They uses both bullet weapons and energy laser weapons. I forgot to mention why there are no melee weapons either. Brotherhood uses melee weapons too not just energy gatling guns.
One element of gameplay that translated surprisingly well was the exploration. Getting to see all these funky characters, settings and plot was a really similar experience to falling down a rabbit hole of insane side quests.
I like that they made the gulper an axolotl. Just kinda neat especially since naturally they just be cute lil vibers and then they made them irradiated human hybrids.
If the gulper actually hit maximus it would’ve been prime meme material because of the way max looks up at the gulper like Damn… he really bouta rock my sh-“KO”
The music and the girly scream and the whole tug of war that follows just absolutely perfectly captures the ridiculous shit you can encounter and deal with in Fallout. xD
I've visited this quarry before! The ruined buildings in the lake, it's a very sick location. Mining quarry that hit a natural spring and flooded like that -- so cool to see it on this show!!
@@thesmithersy The finger teeth are used to remove choke hazards from its prey! The creature is a human/axolotl hybrid, genetically engineered. Those were human fingers in its mouth, human fingers have great dexterity, just like the way we use our own fingers to remove a wrapper from a candy bar, the gulper does the same with its prey, it wasn't biting Lucy as it doesn't have teeth to bite down with, at 1.10 her boot and sock were evidently removed lending credence to my theory, during the struggle it accidently swallowed the boot plus it swallowed some of the anti feral chems when she hit it with the bag. It may have felt unwell after that so when Thaddeus and Maximus fought it the thing may have had reflux from swallowing the boot enabling Maximus to pull out Thaddeus along with the creatures esophagus, Maximus of course would have won anyway due to power armour boosting strength. Back to the fingers. Basically to the gulper we are a human candy bar the gulper unwraps us with the mouth fingers, when we are ready it then as its name suggests, gulps us down in one go, burping out our weapons, armour and clothes etc. anything non organic basically. I have a theory that the dog CX404 has a poisonous bite to mutants hence why the gulper fled, this might be brought up in season 2.
I see this less as a gulper - like the ones in 4 and 76 - and more like a special kind of centaur that mutated to look like a monstrous axolotl. Because of that though, I'm actually a bit impressed with its design because centaurs are like the pinnacle of how messed up some animals and humans became during and after the bombs. If Bethesda can managed to put this thing into 4, I'd gladly accept it.
@@net343 Yes but he removed Lucys boot, this is obviously Tarantinos final form his foot fetish obviously survived and mutated with him. Rip "Gulper Tarantino" he will not attack feet anymore🤣🤣🤣
The centaur design in OG Fallout is super disturbing. But this is not a centaur. Do you even know why it's called a centaur? It's not just a random name they came up with. It's a mythical creature that the Fallout centaur was based on.
@cosmicbilly No it has nothing to do with fetishism, the gulpers mouth fingers remove choke hazards that is why her boot was removed, on a side note I think the dog is poisonous to mutants.
@cosmicbilly I am trying to be rational....only other explanation is that the poor actress had to appease a foot fetish of the director??? Meaning the gulper is possibly a severely mutated Quentin Tarantino from the future? GULPER TARANTINO!!! Quick someone mod him in the game quick!! Quest started get your boots back.🤣😂🤣 Delusional....why I am positively insane! Lol.
Loses her boot suffering a drop in agility, however as the monster was secretly a mutated Quentin Tarantino it left satisfied that it had her foot in its mouth........🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I feel like all the classical music is just somebody's Pip Boy radio playing randomly(They might have earbuds on because in game it doesn't compromise stealth like the flashlight does)
When I first saw this thing in the trailer, it didn't initially click with me that it was a gulper; I thought it was cool how it seems to be more of an axolotl type, considering this is California and all, pretty closer to Mexico than it is to Maine. I thought it was a centaur or something. Or like how a name for two very similar creatures became commonplace, like "oh this looks a lot like one of those things, it must be one of them too". But after that reveal with Vault 4, I was kinda right.
@@murk4552 you don’t know basic biography? Mexico is just North of Maine, right next to Argentina. The only thing south of California is the Nile river and Canada
Canon explanation for creature: That monster was actually a mutation of Quentin Tarantino in his final level 100 form aka Gulper Tarantino, his foot fetish obviously mutated with him which is why Lucy lost her boot to him, feeling rejected Gulper Tarantino actually died from a broken heart during his fight with the Brotherhood of Steel. RIP Gulper Tarantino 🤮🤮🤮🤣😅🤣
Honestly the more i see of this show the Happier it makes me between the implementation of the different 10mm's to the various guns being used in roles that make sense to even the power armor being portrayed pretty faithfully to how it should be with it pros and cons even the prewar bits we get showing what a lot of us have been thinking started the great war being at least partially true they did this show right
Neat detail: Max’s ammo counter in his visor (when he says “I am a knight of the BOS”) is accurate. It displays “009” and he fires 9 rounds from his pistol before it runs dry.
before asking this question, I did review the comments below and saw one possible answer, but even though it seems to be the only one (the hook) I still can't understand how the Gulper was killed. Can Gulpers breath air?
It was a mutated Quentin Tarantino with his renowned foot fetish, seriously the finger teeth taking her boot off gave it away, Gulper Tarantino sadly died from a broken heart because she rejected him. This is canon.
The gulper has fingers for teeth, the fingers were holding onto to Thaddeus so tightly that when max pulled him out it ended up ripping his entire stomach out of it's body since the power armor is stronger than the insides of the gulper basically a brutal tug of war 😅
I've never played this game but it looks fuckin awesome and I want to now after researching it and learning about deathclaws and creatures. I need to watch this
You should! It's an amazing game series. New Vegas is amazing and honestly 3 and 4 are good, too, though 4 is a worse RPG and better shooter game, but still fun. The old games, which I haven't played yet though own, are supposedly really great but also brutal if you don't know how to set up your character properly. I've definitely got to be in the right frame of mind to start those games LOL
