Thank you for posting this. We got our first flock of chickens this spring. Although they were supposed to be laying hens we think one might be a Cornish Cross. We are hoping not but, wanted to let her just be as chicken for as long as she has life. Like you, if it looks like she is suffering, then we will put her down. I wouldn't have the heart to eat her though, she is my husband's favorite.
Frank's story is really moving. He prooved everybody wrong by living that long. He was a sweet bird and I will remember him, for he was really special. Credits to you too Troy for giving Frank the opportunity to live a normaal chicken life. ❤️
🤔 I am a dumpster diver. I look for food and merchandise for my dogs, me and family. One day I was looking at this farm and home store when I just opened the lid and a duckling looked at me and that was the start of me saving animals out of the dumpsters. Later I got Hope the Cornish cross chicken. Real beautiful bird!.
I love your channel. Anyone who has mercy on a meat bird is stellar in my book. Good animal husbandry is so important. I just got Midget White Turkeys and man.....We ordered 24 from Murray McMurray Hatchery and only 16 left. They are a week old tomorrow. Brooder temps spot on, high protein turkey feed.
Sorry to hear about Frank, we have 5 Cornish cross that are 8 months old we started with 16 and processed the others at 16 wks due to work. The ones that are still alive now are healthy and keep up the rest of the flock even though they are 2-3 times the size of our other chickens.
He was on broiler feed the first 8 weeks, then he was on game bird feed. He was living with my turkeys so he ate the same feed. Frank Jr was on layer pellets because he lived with my layer flock
How did I miss this video?! Sorry to heat about Frank. Thank you for doing this experiment. It gives a person ideas on what can be done. RIP Frank. How is Frank's baby?
I have a flock of cornish cross chickens. One of my roosters just passed yesterday, he lived to be around 11 months old. It's pretty rainy here too rn.
The Frank saga is one of the great underrated drama/mysteries on the web. Such an entertaining storyline. Also you look like you've lost some weight. Grats man.
