I'm not back on home soil for long, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to partake of some quintessentially British grub...only...giant...
Today I'm at The Huntsman in Newton Aycliffe, doing my darnedest to become just the second person ever to conquer what may well be the biggest parmo challenge in the whole of England!
Diners get 30 minutes in which to finish a huge breaded chicken cutlet, drenched in beschamel sauce and melted cheese, with a topping of your choice, two portions of twice-cooked chips, onion rings, coleslaw and salad. If you can manage it, you get a spot on the winner's wall and the meal half price. If not, it'll knock you £25 and a lifetime of shame.

Yeah WTF? For any non-Aussies - a parmi in Australia is an institution here. Similar style chicken but we add a slice of ham and use a tomato based (sometimes neopolitana) sauce topped with a mix of cheddar and mozzarella. It's like a parmo but not gross

Watching your videos with strategies reminds me of what I needed to do in basic training during meals. Poured water on mashed potatoes when they are steaming hot, smearing yogurt on pancakes so that way it’s easier to swallow.
