Am I missing something? Isn't the DPS in the fitting window just ALL weapons firing at once (including drones), so you don't get 587dps from your missiles, that's including your drones. (if you mouse over the 587 dps it'll show you missiles and drone damage, the parenthesis number is including reload time of guns). But I might be missing something. *edit* The long recharge time on Rapids is because without it they were massively OP in pvp. It used to be 40sec reload time.. :P

Pretty sure originally they reloaded normally. I got dropped by a pilgrim and some bombers in a Caracal, and killed 5 bombers before dying. They were OP on 1st launch.

Yes, he makes that mistake a few times and while he's been corrected, it's probably due to when he recorded the video vs when it was posted that he hasn't corrected that info in his videos yet.

You are correct, the total DPS of the ship, including drones, is 587.2. Apparently several videos were recorded in a row and the same mistake was made in all of them. He addressed it in a previous video's comment section.

Your theory on who to hit first in the 3rd wave seems right to me. Passive shield tank is all about stsying above the peak recharge %, ~33% of shield capacity. So you want to pick off the targets you can kill the fastest that contribute significantly to the overall incoming dps. Great video, great fit, great fun!

An important nuance here : telling that we don't care running out of capacitor because the fit doesn't have active module is true in theory. But in C3, you can be hunt down by other pvp players. It is always a good idea to have enough capacitor to warp off. So, even with a 100 % passive fit, NEVER run out of capacitor !

Maybe if you took a mobile depot, you were massively over tanked for the 1st 2 waves. Use 3 DDAs, if they fit in the lows, and maybe 3 shield relays in the lows for beginning of last wave. I used to do gated L5s in a Rattlesnake and refit from rechargers to DDA/BCU when needed.

I love the Gila! All of the Gurista faction ships are great. I don't think I have ever run wormhole content in them though. I generally use Navy Vespa's for their huge tank, over 5khp and good dps but I will give the T2 Vespa a shot. None of the others come close to having a better mix of firepower and survivability. Great video! I have taken to doing a build along whenever you drop a new video. It's been a lot of fun. Thanks!

Glad you're enjoying and thanks for the support! If you're already using Navy Issue, they are better than the T2 drones, they're just a LOT more expensive. Since the T2s do well enough, I personally like to keep my costs down, but it's a personal choice 😊

Great video benzie…however I’m really surprised you didn’t include a mobile depot and some probes/core probe scanner in the fit list…the last thing you need is for a wormhole to colllapse after you and have no way to find a way out afterwards..! You can also include more drone damage amplifiers in the hold and refit to them for improved DPS with the mobile depot whilst fighting the sleepers this way..!

I'd say that those strategic cruiser racial bonuses along with thermodynamics and all the nanite skills up to V are must haves if you're thinking on using any of these ships for PVP. And OMG those are absolutely amazing ships for PVP

The Quiz you mentioned: If the big thing could kill you alone then its primaried. If it cannot kill you without the small shit then the small ones first. If it is low regen large hp passive tank then ALWAYS the biggest target first.

Not always strictly true. As an example, imagine that my tank can't handle 2 cruisers and a battleship, it's tempting to go for the battleship first, since it's doing most DPS. But if taking out a single cruiser can reduce the damage to the point that my tank can handle it, the cruiser dies faster. Ergo, the cruiser is the better option.

A bit of nuance is in the other effects applied for instance if you’re being actively jammed by a battleship then it may have to be primary since you may not be able to engage the destroyers or frigates properly

The drone damage shown in fitting window is representative of how much dps your drones are contributing, not how much extra you have. Pyfa will also clarify that this is the case.

I might get yelled at because/if my understanding of mechanics is years out of date, but I generally go with Gallente drones for j-space PVE simply because of sheer DPS. Sleepers as far as I know are still omni-damage and omni-defense: meaning a single weak resist on your ship will cost you, but it also doesn't matter what type of damage you use against them (sans any bonuses for your specific ship). I know tracking and other things can vary, but if you're using medium drones for anything bigger than a frigate, I don't *think* it makes enough of a difference to offset DPS gains. Just with the above fit in question, here are my apples-to-apples DPS outputs for 2 medium drones (maxed drone skills, level 4 drone specializations; I don't think there are any other drone skills where I could have maxed out Gallente & somehow neglected others): 45O dps Hammerhead II 422 dps Vespa II 395 dps Infiltrator II 365 dps Valkyrie II

You're correct that it doesn't matter what damage you fire at them because of Omni resists, but Sleepers have NEVER been Omni damage. They have turrets that do EM/Thermal, and missiles that do Explosive/Kinetic. But those weapons have different application rules, and different ships use them in different balances. As such, your ship may be more susceptible to, say the turrets than the missiles, or there may be more of the missiles than the turrets. Subtle, perhaps, but makes a huge difference if you know what to set up for. Also, whilst Gallente drones have highest DPS, they're also the slowest moving and have quite poor tracking which means they can struggle to apply against certain targets.

It’s worth noting that republic fleet extenders are actually better than caldari navy. Thukker are the best but also twice the cost. This is because they have less sig bloom.

Id be interested in a video on c3 or 6/10 escalations in a Drekavac. Battlecruisers are kind of in a bad place as far as pve goes but I follow the same manta of 'fly what I want, not what they tell me to.' I know the drek can do c3's but its quite hard to keep the fit to 500m and below with how expensive the disintegrator and mods are for it.

I feel that. My C3 drekevac fit is 1 billion isk, not including implants. And it still struggles in the third wave because it's so massively outranged. But I should probably be using Occult and sticking close. Anyways it's too expensive for me to feel comfortable with it in WH is what I'm trying to say.

Personal the active tank gila to me is pointless, the increase of signature radius from the shield extenders allow in more damage. Active tank with prop mod is awesomely better as its signature radius is tiny.

Hello Cap. Why is no one ever realizing that the ingame fitting window shows combined dps in the top pannel. So for your fit it is 412dps drones and 587 combined, not neary 1k just the 587dps. Nearly all CC's stack the drone dps on top which means they are twice in there. Other than that it was an nice and informatve j vid as usual with you.

I'm going to mention this about drones and auto-aggro, since you warn about drones attacking the wrong target in every video: There is a pop-up in the drone window which looks like a gear. Uncheck auto-defend and boob's your uncle, or maybe your aunty since this is 2023.

People fly far more than that in WHs, because you can make it back quickly and easily. 500m is less than 5 hours work, and if you're part of a wormholing corp and/or decent with D-scan/hole control, you'll be fine.

Actually you're wrong with the dps output. The number with offence tag already includes drones dps.

Thank you for the correct pronunciation of this ship! I cant stand the other pronunciation. The other most mispronounced ship is of course the Hecate. Rabbit Pirates are Gur RIS ta, as I remember the Sandinista party of El Salvador back in the 80's and 90's.

Oh, where people pronounce it Heck-8? I get that one, there's a Hecate Bay on the west coast of Canada near Vancouver that's pronounced that way... But yeah, heck-a-tee 😅

My Gila build actually surprised me... I was jumped by a single ganker in Nullsec...he webbed me and drained my capacitor... but my 2xInfiltrator2 tore that guy down to the capsule before he even had my shields down. The fit is designed primarily assuming you're in a wormhole corp, but easy to add a Probe Scanner

@@captainbenzie lol. i'm old. I don't have online buddies outside of Age of Empires. Played Eve Online intermittently since about 2008. created this one over 4 years ago, but just started playing again. Never joined a corp. I haven't really PvP'd here other than getting ganked, But I did love old Asheron's Call PvP. Loved fighting over dungeons and not letting others hunt them. Great channel BTW.

With inflation, the Gila is no where near worth it anymore. For simplicity yes, but cost to performance no. Any well fit HAC will perform the same for less cost, or better for similar cost. Its a 400m hull, for half that you can fly a Myrmidon, fit for shield regen, less skill time and only lose like 130dps or so.
