A welcome return of steam train was had in Sale, eastern Victoria, on Saturday October 7th.
Steamrail Victoria are in town(s) for the weekend with R761 & A2986 'Spirit of Warragul'. A total of 5 shuttle style trips between Sale and Stratford (munro) and Rosedale were run on Saturday 7th October.
Steam trains last visited Sale in 2018, with R707 and 707 operations running a tour to Sale. The last steam train east of Sale was in 2010 I believe. A long time in between these trips.
Being a local, I was very excited to see these trips on the tour calendar, and it has been really enjoyable seeing so many people in the community turning out to see the train today.
