OMG!! No one dances like Michael and No one plays the guitar like Prince!! Love this 🎉

i LOVE both Prince & MJ but i'm gen z & sadly didn't get to see them in their prime. I'm more of a Prince fan because he was just otherworldly to me. An incredible singer, dancer, lyricist, played over 14 instruments, wrote every hit of his and wrote hits for other artists and he was such a free soul. He also awakened so many artists to own their masters. This video doesn't even show how incredible he was at ballet, breaking dancing or the splits. Both Prince & MJ took heavy influence from James Brown as you can see MJ doing JB's moves here. The MJ fanatics will say Prince looked silly here but to me he looked like a rock star and he was truly wild lol. Prince also touched every subject in every song he's made, he guides me to this day. MJ was obsessed with being on the billboards and being mainstream. Where as Prince was able to be both & mostly cared about creating MUSIC. That's why Prince has piano albums with no vocals, Prince has meditation music etc. "Gamilah" for example is an incredible meditation song from him or his song "Arborterum" Where as MJ cared more about being pop & in the magazines, they're both great with different approaches to music but Prince is Mozart. To compare them to my generation in terms of musical approach. Prince would be Kendrick Lamar & Taylor Swift & MJ would be Drake & Beyonce class. Two different approaches but Prince is my favorite artist ever 🤗

I just saw this video a couple of days ago. Watched it, watched it again, made my husband watch it, sent it to everyone I know and then watched it again. 3 superstars on the same stage when I was not quite a teen yet! What!?! I still have multiple songs from all 3 in my playlist!

This was amazing! TY♥ back then you were either on team MJ or team Prince, i was on team MJ - so silly in hindsight because they were both great in their own way. Did you notice Lionel Richie right there when MJ walks up the steps to the stage? It must have been some sort of tribute or awards thing with lots of famous people in the audience

MJ and Prince absolutely idolized James Brown so you know how amazing this was for them. Watch them dance back in the day. Prince had his first hit in ‘82 and MJ was performing years before with the Jackson 5. This may be part of the reason that Prince didn’t like MJ much. He kind of made a fool out of him. MJ knew he was going out, Prince didn’t. We were so lucky in the ‘80s. This was a revelation for me, never saw this before.

The man with the green shirt on, standing next to Michael, Bill Bray, Michaew"s security, since he first started as a kid( also he was the Jacksons) secrity as well. I promise you that there are at least 5-7 more security ther, but, Bill is and always has been his main one.
