Stay in touch. Where are you ? I'm west coast. Soon to teach the ceremonial magick....I am compelled by the great Shedim spirits and I must do this. March 2022
When I started back doing the LBRP, I had a dream at night where things were very dark and there we pentagrams. I was terrified of the pentagrams in my dream. I didn't want to get near them. When I awoke, my first instinct was to stop doing LBRP because of my old Christian programming was telling me that it's letting demons into my life. But then I started to think about how everything IS ME. and that something within me is very scared of the pentagram... and that it actually is the "demons" that exist within me that are scared of it. That week, I had a week from hell, but I was very lucid about it. I understood that the ritual was bringing out my lower energies for me to acknowledge and deal with. I thanked the angels.
It’s taken a long time to shed the fear that Christian programming put into me. I finally understood that all magic is all just neutral power. Evil groups and entities have taken that pentagram and used it for bad purposes, so therefore we associate it with negativity. But it’s not. It just powerful. It depends on what you use it for. All fear is false.
Hi Josh, based on an older post by Damian he highlights 4 books for reading. His book High Magick (and subsequently Angels and Archangels when it is released soon), The power of Now by Eckhart Tolle (I cannot recommend this book enough), Learning Ritual Magick by John Michael Greer, and Modern Magick by Donald Michael Kraig. I hope this helps.
@@joshrooney9451 You are welcome. This post was from last year, I think December, on his Patreon - patreon.com/Damienechols (Which has an amazing amounts of information that I have been studying since I joined last month). Happy reading!
Not to be polemic, but ignore everything Rex Jenkins said. Read Regardie (Garden of Pomegranates, Golden Dawn), Jung (Man and His Symbols), a little bit of DuQuette (Chicken Qabbalah) Crowley (Magick in Theory and Practice, Magick Without Tears), Kaplan (Innerspace, Jewish Meditation), and of course, Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy (also the Corpus Hermeticum)
Theres also a post on jun 2017 in his patreon where he mentions some other books as influential to him such as Israel regardie The teachings of the golden dawn and the books that helped him understand it, dont remember the names of the top of my head.
I have had several of what I would consider to be "Goetic" experiences - well in my early dabblings with Magick. I would experience the sound of rushing wind so absolute that it was as if it was becoming me. This was accompanied by the most intense horror I have ever felt in my life. Sometimes I would perceive a vision of a pale sky and the most imposingly frightening rising moon. During this time I was not treating Magickal practice with the seriousness and discipline I should have (I was very new). I was doing things I did not understand and was experiencing results I did not understand either. I started to experience the howling while falling asleep, waking up, during some psychedelic experiences, and during deep meditations. At some point I learned to maintain some "fortitude" in the face of these experiences (they became uncontrollable). This is when they began to become less frequent. I haven't gone deeper into that place and I fear I am still not ready. I've encountered others who have mentioned engaging with Goetic Magick. Many like myself are fine, but wary. Others seem far more affected, often in ways they seem not entirely aware of. I respect Damien's proficiency in these areas of Magick, because, have no doubt, they are profound and intense. I really appreciate Damien providing his experience and insight. It's been immensely helpful.
It sounds like what the ancient taoists were doing to become immortal. Drawing Yin from the bottom and Yang from above to fuse them in the Lower Dantian into Tai Chi, preserving consciousness even after their physical death by “reconciling the paradoxes”. Also, of them say you hear a booming sound like a thunder when it’s finally done. Many of them died during the process while doing it when not ready. The book Magus of Java is all about that.
This stuff can all be super confusing without someone as well educated as you pointing in the right direction. I'm super, super grateful for these videos

This is just nonsense. I'll explain, for whoever wants to learn by reading, other than watching videos on RU-vid: There is something like 20 demons who's work is to tell things past and to come, so on 72 "parts of the brain" the job of 20 of them is to tell things past and to come? How this happen? Through means of divination or clairvoyance. So your brain, instead of using just one part to do that, it uses 20 of them but in separate times according to the demon you use. So maybe there is just one part but you are calling it with 20 different names. Does it make sense? And this goes for all other functions, let's take for example the teaching of the liberal science, which we can translate with something like "inspiration in the understanding of that topic", there are at least 8 demons who do that. Again, you have 8 parts of the brain who have the same function? Or it's just one that you are calling 8 names? If you analyze the thing you discover that if, and just if, you want demon to correspond to parts of your brain, these parts are way less in number. According to Dr. Rudd, if you regroup demons on a base of their function, you obtain something like 60 functions. That should be 60 parts of your brain that you mix one with another creating a confusion that lets you think that there are 72. But if you study the thing you discover that he was wrong about a lot of them, and if you want to make things to be just your subconscious, you'll have to admit that things like "destruction by fire", "earthquakes", "rearranging graveyards", "turning water into wine" and so on, have little to do with psychology. So, there, now you have 45 - 50 parts of your brain that you call demons, calling many parts with many names, thinking even that they are 72, creating chaos and confusion into your own mind. And all this without considering the fact that many functions are shared not just by the demons, but also by the angels and the angels with the demons and the demons with the angels! What the hell are we talking about...
Jinn is an Arabic word جن which true meaning invisible to the eye. Actually it doesn't make difference if it's good or a bad entity ( it includes both)
You communicate so well on these topics. I know it’s because of years of study but I thought I would mention it anyway because again, you have helped unpack a heavy academic topic in a way that is so much more digestible than other resources. So much appreciation!
Thank you for your answer, Damien. I was reading about Goetia once and I was really excited about it and I was talking about it with a friend who likes to study witchcraft and she told me I should stop because it was very dangerous and I've stopped reading because I believed in her. It was something I was reading just because I'm curious about things. But after I saw you talking about it, I'm reading about it again. And I think it's really interesting. It's culture. People love to call "dangerous" what they don't understand or don't want to understand. :) Thank you so much!
You can perform magic without evoking demons, dont perform this sort of magic for curiosity, in fact stay clear is my advice, read Daniel Defoes System of Magick to at least get the alternative viewpoint first. What makes you think people on youtube know their subject? you see whether demon or higher spirits, they all interface through the unconscious mind, lesser spirits are known tricksters, they can take the appearence of angels to deceive. Personally I don't understand why someone is fascinated with the lesser spirit, at some point of a magical attainment you realise material wealth is useless in the grand scheme of things, so it kind of negates the want to contact these entities, unless you go with the communication of the HGA from a Goetic method. You need to carefully consider if you want a Christianised path, Abramelin, or a Crowlian Serpent/Goetic attainment. Read book of the Law and you might find it to be very distasteful for a person of sound ethical reasoning, Abramelin is beyond the resources/time taken to complete it for most people.
This video has helped piece together pivotal moments in my childhood. I tapped in to the lower goetia on accident one night as I was falling asleep, I was very young.. and it scared me very much. Whispering of what seemed like a million souls and the intense vibrations were so real and heavy it snapped me out of the trance, covered in sweat and breathing heavily. I always knew I was being sown something that was important to my growth so I trusted the energy, though I was in great fear. My life became very hard and filled with tough lessons but i found that as long as you trust in love and light, you can make your wildest dreams come true.
Funny how when he said goetia means howling, an old memory of my teen years came to me of lunging out of bed due to an unnatural scream in my head, part demonic with a digital undertone and that's the best I can describe it. I've always been spiritual even as a young child, but after the death of my best friend at the age of 14 it's like something tore open in me and a host of entities came in. After suffering with horrific nightmares (about 3-5 a night) and waking during each one, I learned to lucid dream through frustration (I've still never heard of anyone learning it that way) and I didn't even know what lucid dreaming was. I'm explaining this because, as much as I suffered, I have also grown, like you explained. The problem is not only doe's it seem apparent I can't manifest much nowadays unlike when I was a kid I could manifest anything I wanted to collect, stamps, coins, cards, etc. It also seems I'm cursed with bad luck and yet I believe in the love and light of creation. My question is when you manifest your reality do you use emotional intent (because I'm almost emotionally numb nowadays), like when I learned to lucid dream or is it your resolution in faith?
I just wanted to send some good vibes here, and say that you are an incredible teacher Damien. It's good to see magick being taught with an emphasis on practicality through psychological improvement and function. And on top of that, it's great to finally see these teachings being made available to the public in a thoroughly accessible way. Keep up the good work, and thank you for what you do.

I really needed to hear your voice. Fascinating teachings, especially about the etymology of Goetia. You have such a soothing voice you could probably read the ingredients of a packet of microwave popcorn and I'd be nodding along.
i'm a former member of the OTO, and this is one of the clearest, level-headed descriptions on this topic that i've ever heard. so glad your voice is out there.
Isn't the OTO just a load of blokes at the pub discussing magick? I know the A:A is the magickal group from my understanding and then you only get one teacher and no other communication.
@@engjds i don't really know what they're about today. in the 90's there was a lot happening in the order. the Bay Area had Thelema lodge and Oz house. lots of real work and experimentation was taking place. the Gnostic Mass was the bare minimum, but there was an abundance of study AND practice. there was so much elitism and judgement of other systems, while i wasn't all that impressed with the results of those practices, so i ultimately departed. the western esoteric traditions were often referred to as the yoga of the west. i just went with yoga proper. it's just the better path in my opinion.
@@RevBeggs too much elitism, not enough results. Kundalini Mahayoga proved to be a better path for me. a lot more transparent and demonstrably effective.
I used to hear that sound spontaneously as a teenager and up until my mid twenties. When it happens you can tune into it and increase the intensity. I've never heard someone actually describe that sound before.
I love what you said about drawing the pentagram, I struggle with the physical, bringing heaven to earth, but your explanation always brings clarity. Interesting about what you said that if you draw the angels to you enough then you are one. My ego isnt ready for that belief yet I feel.
I think I've been drawing on this since I was young, due to my many years in Death Metal bands. Drawing the dark truth from within and transforming it outwardly into the light. I admittedly had no idea what I was doing; but I'm on the road less traveled without a teacher at hand to help strengthen my understanding. Jung helped immensely. TBH. I had an opening experience where I think I was shown to have been Jung in my last life. It was the most powerful experience I have ever had in my entire life. Thank you for existing
Just gotta say, my brother, that i love how you break it down for your followers. Reminds me of gosphel of Thomas. I did my hermitage at home, mostly in my back yard and garage. My teacher/ mentor is non-corporeal, so your videos mean a lot to me. Something about a flesh and blood person confirming things... Also, i feel like you have a lot of Mercury in your chart? Anyhow, i am a fan. Keep up the Great Work 😉
Really well spoken. My friend suggested your podcast and I am not disappointed. I agree with most of this even if I have a slightly different perception with the Goetia being an external consciousness that is able to be connected to and channeled. Like a wavelength able to tune ourselves to. Not an argument at all just my understanding of it. I work with the Goetia through pathworking and have been expanding in those principles to attempt a mass connection vs the one on one connections typically done.
I recently bought your book where you explain how you turned your tattoos into talismans and amulets.. My question is how did you go about doing this? Did you focus your energy while getting the tattoo? Or did you have access to the ink itself to work with before getting the tattoo? Did you let your tattoo artist know this was your intention? I love you and your work! 💜✨🌌
just say “I know I can, I know I can, I know I can” and click your heels together. Then wriggle your nose and point. Then blink both eyes and nod. Then snap your fingers.
Erica Flannes was the artist that did a lot of his tattoos. She is on Instagram and Facebook and might be a good person to ask. Too, check out her Amulet tattoos. They are amazing!
Damien. I have followed your story from the very beginning. Although I have never had the means to get directly involved, my hopes and prayers were the most that I could contribute to your circumstance. I was happy to learn of your freedom, but still wish for you, that the pain of your past will subside somehow. You are a brilliant individual, and I would love to just sit and talk. God Bless brother.
You incorporate all the pieces so amazingly. I read somewhere that chaos magic is making use of your own powers but Goetia is about invoking entities that lie outside your being.
watching these videos gives me so much more insight on the wonders of the world & actually gives me some definition about my practice. I dont worship daemons, or anything of the sort; but I do find all knowledge valuable. thank you for explaining things even a beginner can understand!
Damien. You are so freaking wise. I have so much love for you and so much appreciation for everything you talk about. I register at an Intellectual level that all the things you talk about are things that part of me recognises as true. Not just true but as my personal truth. You are a warrior, you are a mage, you are a sage and you are amazing... therefore, I am too and that brings me great joy. One day I wish to reach your level of magical ability because I know the amazing good that would come of that. Never stop being you (not that you could) because you are truely a blessed light in this world and we need your voice now more than ever. I love you. ❤️🌈🌟
I was so glad to see this video on the Goetic Spirits as I was very interested in learning about them and how they relate to Angels. Damien you answered all of my questions beautifully. I am very grateful.
Thanks again good sir. Yes to the danger. Sorcerer's Apprentice incidents are part of every wizard's education. Of course, not all of us wreck the temple so catastrophically as I did when I tried my hand at the Goetia as not exactly a beginner, but not really developed either. It was impossible for me to keep the focus in the ritual, never knew about the 72 angels you need to get to know before you start digging into the dungeons where so much ancient terror makes it hard to untwist the toxic mimics of the demon's powers. On the other hand, it's the shape of my path to have brought ruin to who I was when I first learned the Craft. The revival I'm enjoying now would not be where I'm at had I continued the self destruction of the wanna be rock star poisoning the well of my creativity. Saturn retro, topping my chart and ruling 4 of my classical planets below the horizon, including the Sun: back to school, the stuff I learned as a kid wasn't all true. Progressed Saturn now stationary, goes direct when I'm 54. They say Capricorns often bloom late, if at all. Craggy rocks and stormy beaches are all you get with some of us. I'm stronger and healthier in my late 40's than I ever was in my youth and young adulthood. With a sugar foundation to my lack of nutrition so heavy, that's why my attention was too wavy to hold steady in the process of instructing a denizen of one's internal hell realms. A castle made of sugar melts in the rain or the sun. Even the wind can knock it down quick. Nutrition is an oft ignored element of the Craft that drives many a wizard mad.
@@rainbowkittenzz244 Isn't that quote, or something to that effect also attributed to Hippocrates? Let food be thy medicine is how I remember it. Wake the Witch! That's the side of my training that turned me onto plants, fungus, and natural foods.
The Lesser Key of Solomon was frequently getting recommended to me and it's made me nervous too look into but now I've stumbled upon this! I'm glad to be able to come to these videos when I have questions thank you king :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the subject Damien. I have worked with the Certain spirits of the Goetia for many years. I can understand the theory of of combining the two half's Higher and lower. I look at the tree of life and knowledge the same way as a combination. Trying to balance both out. Of course i came to understand each person will have there path of how they deal with the spirits. I also have noticed that spirits do have there favorites. Again thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I'm grateful that i found your videos... This reminds me of something i hear when i go in a meditative state- a bunch of people but at the same time one person whispering and shouting at the same time, don't know how to explain it better and never understood what that was. It is sometimes followed with let's say visuals of different geometries just changing from one to another, becoming really small then becoming the whole universe. Also sound and visuals becoming one somehow.
Thank you soo much for this video... I would sometimes hear the cricket like sound after certain breath work or an orgasm, and every once in a while randomly, along with a myriad of unique experiences. I recently discovered your videos and they have been very comforting and helping create the dialogue of what I have been experiencing.
Recently had this word Goetia appear to me during a meditation session without knowing its meaning or origin. I’m grateful for your concise words on the topic! Though now I’m left wondering to what purpose was this word brought to me.
When I started demonalitry I was called to the Goetia and started there so too bad 😂. Best decision I have ever made, they have helped me grow strong beyond my wildest dreams, Lucifer and many of brethren have helped me with a plethora of things. Great vid!
The angels are the branches & the leaves, the demons are the roots, the humans are the trunk. Interesting way of putting it.. Glad I stumbled across your channel.
@@erikamontemayor9060 have you ever seen the Orozco murals in Guadalajara's Instituto Cultural Cabañas? There is a painting of Ezekiels burning wheel that may help you.
Amazingly helpful! I used to hear crickets when I would go into deep meditation but now it's constant (I've learned to tune it out but as soon as I tune in to get quiet, it's immediately noticeable). I have been going through a "kundalini awakening" or the "magickal disease" for over 6 years now & I had assumed it was a reflection of my connection to the earth & hearing what was going on deep inside the earth or the "underworld"...your description of the "demons" as the roots of the tree helps confirm that. Getting my head around the idea that these entities are not evil has been a bit of a struggle; though I have always been open-minded & knew this on a conscious level, getting past the subconscious programming is still quite the mountain to climb. Thankfully I have some wise & patient spirit guides XD Thank you for the very practical & wise information. New subscriber!
LOL remember in the midnight Gospel when they talk about "blowing your face off" with magick? Literally me with Goetia, called on Bael and Belial. Asked for huge request. No regrets tho lol.
Ty for clarifying this, i had suspected this was true all along and u brought it right out in the light for me thank u so very much for your knowledge and information 💯
Every time I use psychedelics I feel visions of a world tree. And today I felt an uncontrollable urge to listen to these videos and sure enough he talks about the world tree.

I like the way that angels and goetic entities(djinns?) are described as aspects of self/consciousness, the description of the practical application of goetia is particularly interesting as it reminds me very much of how alchemy works. I would also strongly concur with the advice to treat this practice with a significant degree of caution, A person sensitized to subtle energies will immediately sense the potential power of goetia.
You explain these subjects so well. You had so much time to think and read, it really shows because you know just how to explain things. I love your channel!

Brilliant. I have explored this Goetia and came to many of these conclusions regarding our present psychology and these arch types from the books as past references for explanation of either energies or human behavioral patterns dsm5.
After watching The Midnight Gospel, i started looking into this stuff. Im wondering what are the dangers of it? if the entities are characterized representations of our own subconscious, what potential dangers could arise? Im sorry if i interpreted it incorrectly
It can exacerbate your negative qualities - greed, sloth, lust, etc. This is why this work is only done after strong psychological, emotional, and energetic foundations have been established.

The "sound" reminds me of the noise you hear when your body vibrates during sleep paralysis...and all of that (for me) has only been able to happen do to my alchemical work
Yep, same thoughts. I use sleep paralysis to Astral project, so that sound and vibration is crucial to know when to make the attempt to leave the body.
The Goetia was the very first thing I did getting into Magick. They are mostly quite helpful. So long as you have respect, and no fear, they will answer your call.
Interesting that the world Din (as opposed to Djinn) means a loud continued noise or a welter of discordant sounds and the word Goetia means howling noise.
I decided to come back to ceremonial magick after many years separated from it. As I left my Catholic Faith and so now fully engulfing myself in books and starting from scratch I questioned where to start and it hit me as if it was an audible voice (GOETIA) at first I was intimidated because my Christian background didn’t want me to work with demons but I did and still doing research and going to start with goetia path working to get more acquainted with these spirits.
Hey, Damien, thanks for the videos, been watching all of them. I was wondering, do you have any thoughts on the bicameral mind theory? As "useless" as hypothesizing about the distant past may be to the craft in the present time, I find it a very neat idea, one that helped me understand what you say about the terminology used in the past and the internal nature of mystical entities.
That's interesting. I hear that whispering when I meditate and try to detach my consciousness from my body. I always thought it was the sound of silence.
James Hillman, was an archetypal polytheistic psychologist that covered this subject. I throughly enjoyed reading his work. "Each life is formed by it's unique image, an image that is the essence of that life and calls it to destiny. As the force of fate that this image acts as a personal diamon, an accompanying guide who remembers your call." (Cited - James Hillman)
Thats what bothers me about all these ghost hunter shows... They step into a house and demand things from an entity instead of treating them with respect.
Good morning professor it is very refreshing to encounter a like minded person as myself I too have been in prison for something I never did and i an just trying to clear myself from it and move forward .what I also came to realization is that magic do assist in perilous times like these but moving forward it a pleasure learning from your experience and I am now a practicing magi.
Even if these exist beyond our psyche, our primary means of relating with and “exorcising” them is through the psyche, so the argument is a distinction without a difference, practically speaking. Good perspective here. Thanks!
