I seriously don't understand how this show just gets more enjoyable with every new episode...

I LOVE the fact they are called "the canaries". Is such a clever name! Canaries in a mine, they are the sign things are getting deadly.

In episode 16 you can see the cleaners carving a lion head into Kensuke! Dungeon Meshi is like a snowball of quality, it starts alright but then it never stops getting better

Kabru telling his backstory twice in this episode is so fun To namari and toshiro: yeah the elves came and made a mess of things. To the elves: 😢 so many good elven soldiers (also civilians i guess) died that day 😢 also the vice captain adopted me so basically youre my aunts and uncles 😋

its such an easy detail to not notice at first too, but they've also been teasing the winged lion all throughout the party's descent into the dungeon. From statues of him scattered around the kingdom's ruins, to even engravings on the monsters themselves like the living armor and treasure bugs the group has eaten in the earlier episodes. Its just fascinating to see all of this lore unfold!

Don't forget that the first one who mentioned the word "lunatic magician" is king delgal himself when he told the people on the surface about the kingdom. So obviously those immortal people are the one who give him that nickname

As a manga reader it feels like we are just now hitting the best parts of the series yet the season is almost over! Without saying too much, the arrival of the canaries was where things really started rolling, so I'm happy the show is getting such positive attention and seems likely to get a season 2 :)

I don’t know if you noticed but Kabru tried to talk to Laios multiple times before their official meeting and each time he got rejected 😂 I can understand why he thought Laios had a hidden side! He was so cold to Kabru! It makes his last comment to Laios so funny too : « you will remember me next time »

it was worded a bit weird but the canaries showed up and used forced to stop the dungeon in kabru's town- which in turn caused the monsters to flood out ALSO the dungeon started turning anyone who was killed by monsters into monsters themselves. basically it's better not to use force when shutting down a dungeon because it can cause worse things to happen.

The ghosts that were sorbet'd weren't killed. Just banished to reform later. The sorbet itself was just using the undeathly cold of their ghost forms to chill the contents inside the jars.

To the the part in 6:50 were you want to know what everything means. This is what is in the manga translation: Falin: Sister who went to magic school. This episode is basically what I consider the start of the second half of the manga. It's where the actual main plot starts to unravel. It's all downhill from here (in the best of ways)! Also poor Marcille, she just wants to be complimented by a Touden yet they are as dense as a stone.

Not cat mode, she's quite cat already, catnip mode I guess. The place mellows her a lot as it does to the beasts around.

I remember when I initially saw the first ep and was like "Oh this is a show about eating monsters along the way to save Falin, simple 😃". Then every episode just got progressively better in uncovering the dungeon's lore and nuances that I can definitely recommend this as an Adventure/Culinary/DND/Fantasy anime to anyone. Pretty sure there would be more genres to include, but I don't think I've ever seen this much variety in a series while not being all over place. This being a cooking anime, a week ago I randomly watched a Marco Pierre White vid where he requoted, "Perfection is lots of little things done well."

The most interesting and satisfying thing about this show is that there are no unnecessary details. This show has extremely detailed and interconnected to the point that you have to read it again and again to realize it. A small spoiler is that even the fact about Laios likes monsters will make you gasp at how to use that in the story in the future

On the other hand, the only way I can presume they’re getting away with calling him that, is him not _recognizing_ that he’s who they’re referring to with that phrase. 26:16 It had been recently referenced in the episode the group dealt with the copies (like, 2-3 episodes ago, now). 30:20 Technically speaking, those would be the same goal, Yaad is just being formal about requesting it/giving them some context to the ramifications of what they are trying to get done. 32:04 At the very least, what was being asked was for Laios to put actual thought to what to do ‘if’ he did defeat the lunatic magician and inherit the dungeon (because, at that point, he hadn’t put a single thought in that direction while being a frontrunner among those that have made it as deeply into the dungeon as they had). While it wasn’t a _requirement_ to retrieving Falin at that point, it certainly seems to be nearing that time.

This show is still cooking, and it’s only going to get more delicious from here! The wonders of solid world-building.

the place could be different dimension, but i think it is just a village of the golden country, outside the castle town that is around the golden castle, which is the 5th floor of the dungeon. Where the group got teleport from were the 6th floor, which was the under ground system of the castle town, so i guess we got teleport back up and out outside of the town.The appearance of blue sky instead of rocky cavern above is what thrown most people off, but it has a simple explaination that will be reveal later in the series

At first I thought they got Levi's voice actor for Captain Mithrun, but yeah it's Shigaraki from MHA. I can't unhear him now that I know that trivia.

I think this is a good timing for a rewatch. All the background minor detailed in early episode will be more obvious and fun to point out. From a manga re-read experienced though.

I love how in 95,99% of the anime world, Kabru would be the MC and Laios just a bacground character that we see from time to time, but here it's the opposite. It's almost if we have followed HxH with Leorio instead of Gon lol.

Look at this Aragorn wannabe Kabru, being the last of his family, maybe town, and being raised as a warrior by elves. It was prophesied that SOMEONE would come with a winged sword, not Laios specifically.

Each time i get more and more curious about Kabru and the lunatic magician. I really don't mind the "MC being the savior" prophecy. I'm all here for it LOL Also, Marcille in that red dress and that dark skin elf.........not bad. Not bad at all 😂
