I have a strong feeling that after our dear Betty crossed over to the other side today, she was greeted by her Golden Girls co-stars and they all sang this wonderful song together once more... RIP Betty!
I was leaving Lowe's today and 2 cashiers were talking by the front door. One had on a Golden Girls tee shirt and she was singing this song, she couldn't remember the last lyric after "blue skies, sun shine..." so I finished with "white sand by the mile". It was a good moment for all of us! haha 2021 is looking up in many ways! :)
It feels like all of our grandmothers did that. I would play the piano in the living room and could play the older songs by ear, and my grandmothers did the same thing :)

I know it might sound silly but after I listen to it I tear up because those women made the mornings at work brighter when I was having a rough start. Always will miss them such bright shining stars always remembered never forgotten! Miss you my Golden Girls 👧

the line is actually “there’s ballparks and nightclubs…” i think, because it would be bad form to use the same word (clubs) twice. also ball clubs aren’t really a thing. and the consonant sounds are different.
Look at Sophia bopping in the background, reminds me of my late grandma doing the same when she listens to music on the radio. I miss these ladies and my beloved grandmother.

Just vacationed in south beach and on my last night there this episode came on at the hotel I was staying at and I almost cried it fit the moment so perfectly
Everyone's talking about Blanche saying "Please?", which was super cute, but it was hilarious after repeatedly objecting when Dorothy immediately responded with "Hit it, Rose"!
That was actually a catchy song! When I used to ride the train to go to school back in the day, there was an older Italian lady that used to sing this song on the train a lot, as well as other songs that Bea Arthur covered. I think that the lady had some mental issues. However, like Bea, she had a powerful voice, as she did some pretty good covers of songs that were originally pinned by Black artists. She sang them in her own way, but sounded wonderful. I always wondered what happened to her in life and why she was forced to ride the train all day. Anyway, this video was marvelous, as I always loved the Golden Girls. Thanks 🙏 for posting this video.
What's weird is that Betty White, who plays as Rose, can not play the piano at all.... so friggin weird, huh? They recorded someone playing the tune. Betty White also sings " getting to know you" and she ROCKS!!!!!! One more thing...... Betty has black hair, not blonde!!!! Threw me off completely!!
She fakes it like somebody who actually knows how to play piano to some degree. She’s fake playing in this clip, but it’s clear she’s a musician. Her hands and form were spot on. Commanded the performance. Such a fantastic actor.
Not to be overly dramatic, but this video clip is what life should be all about: Love, laughter, MUSIC, togetherness etc. I’m convinced Golden Girls was a perfect Moment in time when the stars truly aligned.
the judges in that episode got paid when Rose and Dorothy came in and said they came in 2nd place I'm thinking okay not bad until they performed their jingle I'm saying there is no way they should have came in 2nd place they had 1st place hands down
This episode just came on & ended literally 5 mins ago. Golden Girls is my favorite show. I just had to come listen to my girls sing this again. RIP to all 4.
Saw this scene on Germany TV 2 days ago and wanted to see and hear how the original is. I must day the ladies sang beautiful and Germany chose very well German voice actors matching their original voices 😊🎤
Really both of the jingles were good. We just never got to hear the whole first one "M-i-a another M-i....M-i-a-m-i spells Miami Beach...It stirs emotion...It's by the Ocean...So bring out your suntan lotion..." And then Blanche cuts them off...LOL
