Deathbed is a good analogy. We're all on it. And John's evangelical mission is clear from the fact that he survived to write Revelation.

Can I use 1 John 5:11 to be saved ? Because 1 John 5:13 last verse (KJV) says that "and so you might believe on the name of the Son of God" which proves that 1 John 5:11 is written so that one may also be saved by it. So the "us" is given to not only the disciples in 1 John 5:11

just because the word "brethren" is used doesn't mean its adressed to only believers or all believers, the word brethren means "brother" literaly or figuratively, it doesn't mean "believer in christ" thats not the definition of the word brethren, ALL JEWS are brethren to each other on the level of them being jewish, so when james or peter or whoever adresses their jewish brothers they call them brethren, regardless of them being believers in christ or not..period, the definition of the word brethen is not "believer in christ", thats just not the definition of the word, it can be used for that sure, it can used to associate and describes many groups of people regardless of being christ believers or not and as a matter of fact usually its used in the context of simply jews, most jews are not christians and here's a verse that flat out proves this point...>>> Joh_7:5 For neither did his brethren believe in him. jesus "brethren" the jews DID NOT BELIEVE IN HIM..so they were not christians so the word brethren isn't a word thats just used to describe believers in christ, and what BS to any dumbass who plays games with the bible, isojeting the text and not having any fucking brains to teach it correctly, because of stubborness well scripture says he who refuses correction is STUPID...Pro 12:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. IE stupid

Some people are teaching this dangerous Gospel. Yes we are saved by Grace alone but it includes the whole New Testament and all that Christ taught. Yes it is all part and parcel of salvation. We are born again if we develop a intimate personal relationship w/our Lord. So Christ wont say "I never knew you". (Math 7:21-23). When one excepts the gift of salvation. This has gotten to be ridiculous semantics to be saved. I guess we may as well throw out the book of James. It's understood we do these things, repent, obey etc. out of love for our Lord. Not to work for salvation. James wrote the book of James because he came across these same issues. That is why there are so many "fake" Christians. Then many fall away because there is no substance to their salvation. That is like John MacArthur saying we can take the mark of the beast and later repent and still be saved (He actually taught that) ( MacArthur also taught The blood of Christ did not save us, look it up) when in fact the scripture teaches against it. If we truly love our Lord, we do all these things. Read James. he says "You say you have faith but have no fruit! I'll show you my works to prove my faith" (James 2:18), Was James kidding? Are we not admonished by Holy scripture that "ALL" scripture is given to us unto salvation. To study daily to be approved. To those who persevere and run the good race, to study scripture daily. That not all who call Jesus Lord (As Jesus taught) will enter in? This grace only salvation is throwing out the whole new Testament almost. Be very careful many will come in that day and teach another gospel. Pick up your cross daily (Luke 9:13). Yes The Gospel is "THE GOOD NEWS:!.
