To Hyce, ES&D CDO Fees and fines cost are at the end of your shift is 98,850.48 dollars. We appreciate it if you pay your copay of 627,149 dollars. Please pay off your fees and fines. Sorry for being late. I was doing my other job when this was uploaded. Derail Valley Debt Collector, John Doe
This game is a great outlet for the intrusive thoughts. Can you imagine watching a train of hazmat roll by with no one in the cab of the loco followed shortly by a guy on a handcar.
0:27 Man my brain is silly. When you said "steam forum" my mind went to a forum dedicated for steam locomotives. Not the platform the game is hosted on 😂
having things to blow up after the employee had already blown some things up is the most irresponsible thing a railroad manager can do, especially when hyce is the employee
IIRC, you can only purchase a maximum of 3 lanterns. Somehow, through the magic of a glitch, the lost and found has provided you with two more lanterns than should be possible to acquire in the game. Was very impressed this episode's stunt actually paid off. Maybe you need to try it again some time to make sure it wasn't a fluke 🤔
Choo Choo says “I got this!! I too was peering down the track into the trees, just waiting for Kenosha to start playing in the background… But sometimes those dumb ideas work perfectly! 👏
Berkshires: *are considered the pinnacle of steam locomotive design, often having a factor of adhesion exceeding 4* Derail Valley S282 Berkshire: *extremely cursed and has a factor of adhesion of 2*
10:39 Funny thing about that… in the early early days, Amtrak approached EMD about ordering E10s as their first new diesels, but the patterns and jigs for the E-unit underbodies had all been junked already. So instead, they ended up ordering the (soon-to-be) infamous SDP40F… Also, it’s clearly a Yunction sign, not a Junction sign. ;)
Im currently trying to shunt/unload a 928 ton 16 car long cut of scrap metal at the steel mill at night with nothing but a single DE2, and yet hyce has out stupided me. I love his channel (Edit) I lovethat it all worked out for both of us
26:55 hey that's me. Honestly, considering the wild stuff I've seen and heard about on here with trains I was wondering what an "ox tender" would be to get that name. It never occurred to me until he and someone else had commented that it was an "auxiliary tender".
52:45 I've actually found the scroll wheel to be much better of an option. By looking at the handles, you also see the link to the gear, and so can better tell what the timing should be. After that, it's simply a matter of quick scrolls at the right times! 'Course, the only problem with that method is you can't see the track ahead...
I love your work. I want to recommend Terry Pritchett 's book, Raising Steam to e eryone who loves steam locomotives. A couple quotes: a fiery dragon all cinders and smoke. When it's time for steam engines steam engines will come. A manly smell, steam coal grease. Thanks again for your great content.
I love that you referenced "Connie" from the movie unstoppable.... which is a Hollywoodized retelling of the CSX Crazy 8s incident. Which happens to be one of my favorite Railroad stories
Expanding on the aux tender part it also allows you to modify the locomotives original tender and expand the coal bunker like was done on C&O 614. She went from originally carrying 50,000lbs of coal to 100,000.
The Fact on how Im doing the same thing Hyce is doing in this video in my Career playthrough rn XD (Except I haven't ran a train off the rails in my entire playthrough yet)
Hey Hyce, I figured out how to sort of bail the independent off. In the driving UI (which you wouldn't have in realistic mode) you can click release on the brake cylinder and it gets rid of all the air in the locomotive brake cylinder. Pretty sure that isn't exactly how it works in real life, but you can correct me if I'm wrong. Loving the content, keep up the good work!
The boards only mean much on the Passenger Jobs halts (fun fact, I want Sliced Pax Cars back so that I can do a less Amtrakkitative spot with three-car Regionals). For yard ladders, all you gotta do is get clear of the Mystery Loading Gauge envelope (over buffers!! and idk if I should caveat further about the dynamic envelope, because how does car sway work again?), conveniently denoted by the width of most ballast and embedded roadbeds (when you're not playing with the Gauge mod).
56:00: You seemed to be going somewhat slow, so I tried to do it myself. I derrailed just after the Y intersection with the handcar 😅 The major difference between how we do is that I use the mouse wheel and you use the keyboard. The mouse wheel for the handcar is quite intuitive to me.
Of course riding the kick and giving your whistle cord command of the cab is more efficient... until such time as your pee cups outpace your payouts. A longer teleport or a repeater macro would help this, but you can also pitch the camera up by some 40-45 degrees to exploit the sort of "arc" that the dash vector is drawn in for VR kids (yes, it's the same in 2D mode!). ...or yes, the "pumpy thing" as named by Gary Brannan. Thankfully you worked by the ESDTOR on this video and worked "uphill slow[, downhill scary at the Steel Mill hill]"
Reminder to check your switches. Also, British locomotives ride better, but are less able to deal with bad track work than American ones, because they have no compensation levers or driver sideplay.
I enjoy watching these, but it does stress me out the way that he can run at night without actually seeing what's going on. Maybe it's just the way it uploads? Anyways, it's also the practice of just jumping off the train and running around or behind to flip a switch or something.
I've never had a steam train catch things on fire in Derail Valley. Is that a new thing added in a secret update I don't know about? I'm not exactly gentle on steam trains anymore, especially beating the crap out of the 282 running near tonnage from the Harbor to Military Base, running out of water at the crest around the switch to Coal or Iron Mine up there.
You have probably answered this elsewhere but what do you think are the positives of this game and the comparative positives of railroader. I am considering getting one of them, but am not sure which to get.
If they sit in fire long enough, cars with wood on them will actually catch fire. Not just take damage, but actually catch on fire themselves. The fire keeps burning longer and actually moves with the car if you shove it somewhere.
🎵THE BOIS ARE BACK IN TOWN!🎵. Also, have you ever considered playing Rolling Line? Its whole purpose is a video game about model trains, at least, that what’s on the tin.
Talking about screen door, just buy a quest 3. It has the best image quality you can get in a VR headset currently and the screen door is almost invisible (and it is diagonal rather than vertical and horizontal which makes it even less noticable for some people, but more noticable for others, because they rotated the screens slightly). And despite having the best image quality it's the cheapest "current gen" VR headset you can get. Note image quality =/= resolution. A few headsets have better resolution but they have worse quality lenses which make the image quality worse in some situations (primarily by introducing chromatic abberation). The quest 3 has the absolute best lenses in a VR headset though so while the fine detail is not quite as good as some other headsets, due to the lower resolution, you never have image distortion from the lenses so for 99% of scenarios (including this game from what it looks like, though I have no first hand experience) the image quality will be fantastic. Don't buy an index though, the index wasn't even the best headset you could get when it came out and is just completely outdated now.
"The Stupidest Thing I've Ever Done"...but it didn't end in Kenosha? Are you sure about that? Still might be one of few times Hyce has "seriously" considered the consequences of dumb actions. 😛
if you're getting 15 frames per *minute* as your framerate you really need to look into upgrading the slideshow projector you're using as a monitor, I assume you mean fp*s* instead
@@Hyce777 Yes. It will be this summer and probably be the last update of the year, not unless the developers have made some more items that are ready by Christmas for a small update which could be called B99.5. I would honestly like B100 to be like "the next big thing." If you know what I mean.
When you get back and get back into Derail Valley, you need to try a heavy load with dh4's on the back using the remote from the front in a steamer or other. Also you can remote control a de6 when you connect a de2 to it connect the remote to the de2 and shut it down.❤ thanks for the videos.
@@Hyce777 One thing I mentioned to Slobodan on the Steam forum was the radius rod. It is said that the Radius Rod will FINALLY be animated like the 060 at least as far as I know. Asked about cab lights and seats, but that will be for later. Fruits and vegetables will be going into the refrigerator cars because as Lionel Traintown put it: "You don't want this load to spoil, use a refrigerator car." Did try to ask for lime-green and dark blue colors, but apparently that is not on the menu. One thing I would LOVE to see in the future is the introduction of an airport either at the City South-West or another place. There we can load/unload passengers, general freight and a military airfield.
It is berk. I don't get too upset when someone says it like berkshy-er, even though I prefer berk-sure, but if someone said barkshire to me in reference to a 2-8-4 I'd be hard pressed to find a judge that would convict me for my actions.
28:08 - 28:33 Considering the entire explanation took less than 30 seconds, I'm not sure there's enough meat for a full 101 episode on just that. Maybe an "everything tenders 101" at some point? Cover standard, stokers, auxiliary, and anything else weird I've never heard about.
I just read the something on top of the cab "Get back in the cab before you die" thanks for the safety tip hyce I rather not lose my head while on a high speed freight train 🥲👍 lol
