To the viewers: If you're strongly attached to your faith, this video might challenge your beliefs. From what I've observed, these sentiments are triggered by a lack of attention or misunderstanding of the nuances being made. So before hastily rushing to the comment section to raise issues that were never claimed in the first place, please read this first: 1. To reiterate, the topic is "Do Hindu epics and mythological tales have a blueprint for advanced scientific knowledge and technology such as aircraft/nuclear weapons". The topic is not "Are Hindu epics entirely wrong/false etc". It is not about dismissing or discouraging people to read them. For believers thinking that I am dismissing the entire culture - you may also want to rewatch the points I discuss at 38:28 where I highlight the good parts. I even included a Bhagawad Gita quote in the end as I felt that it was something valuable and relevant even today. 2. Please note that I have never said there is no science in ancient India at all. Ancient Indian mathematicians and scientists were at the forefront of their fields for those times. However, it is not in Ramayana that you will find their major contributions. Books like Vedas and Mahabharata contain devotional hymns, literature, mythology and all that - not science. Also, the golden age of Indian science came much after the Vedic times. 3. My scorn isn't directed at ancient Indian scientists, but towards unfounded beliefs held by TODAY's individuals, like many trolls here claiming that you can find the science of AI, quantum computing also in those texts. If you're not one of those then good for you. But many Hindus including people in positions of power and influence take the narratives in these texts as literal historical facts, influence millions with such theories, and try to alter our education curriculum. 4. Please be aware that similar claims exist in other religions as well. If you look into it, you'll find passionate discussions about things like Black Holes/quantum physics being mentioned in the literature of other religious texts also. The claim that we lost knowledge of modern technology like aircraft and nuclear weapons because invaders / Mughals destroyed everything is one of the laziest and most ignorant claims ever made. 5. Our country has no shortage of Sanskrit scholars, religious leaders and priests. These folks should all come together, gather and read all the epics, stories and scriptures that they can get hold of, and produce something isn't known to mainstream science, along with practical applications - to help us progress. Unfortunately, we only see such folks wait until scientists around the world do all the hard work - then start yelling from the rooftops that this was already in Sanskrit and that these scientists stole our knowledge. Basically they want to believe that centuries of Indians had to be completely incompetent that they could not understand all the science written in the Vedas but Westerners with zero grasp of Sanskrit figured it all out. 6. Spirituality/morality is wholly different from any organized religion, or any other belief system. Spirituality must be distinguishable from belief systems because people of every faith and of no faith have had spiritual experiences. But that's not the topic of this video. The solution is to drive Indian science forward by embracing the knowledge of today, not to bury ourselves in ancient books hoping that science will magically fall out. Science is a process, not a collection of sentences written in some book. For example, we have plenty of real scientific work done by scientists like Satyendra Nath Bose, a pioneer in quantum mechanics, with an entire class of subatomic particles named after him. Appreciation of such genuine accomplishments is good. Taking pride in exaggerated claims is wrong.

I also agree that ancient texts were mere science fictions. But terming a flying vehicle "Pushpaka" meaning flower-like indicating how some flowers rotate while landing safely to the ground gives amazing similarities with the modern day helicopters. 23:26 Decimal fractions can be seen in Brahmasphutasiddhantha by Brahmagupta, & In Aryabhatiya and Bhaskara I's commentary on the same gives proper evidences of using Decimal fraction clear as water. Sometimes claims can't be always right.

Thank you for your comment. I realize I should have been more specific about the work I was referring to. Decimal fractions are indeed mentioned in Brahmasphutasiddhanta, which was written after the 1st century AD. However, earlier texts show very limited development in this area. In fact, some older texts like Aryabhatiyam, used a geocentric model of the solar system, which we now know to be incorrect. Additionally, you will also find mathematical errors in the volume calculations of a pyramid and a sphere in earlier texts. Please note, this is not an insult to these texts in any way - it was very cool that ancient Indians got a lot of things right 15 centuries ago.

27:30 Even in the Ramayana, Pushpak Vimana was owned by Kubera. Kubera who was the Lord of Lanka was so wealthy that he distributed all his earnings at the end of every respective year by travelling in his Pushpak vimana. Ravana snatched it from him as he didn’t like this idea of wealth distribution. However, there were no plenty of vimaanas for the knowledge to be shared because it was very costly to make one, and only the wealthiest guy could have invested in it. It is like asking why everyone is unable to fly to space in a rocket now? Or why Zambia is not able to create its own rocket to space 😂😂😂

Ancient humans had enough or more intelligence as we have today. Hindus believe that a scientist is a poet and a poet is a scientist. That means every scientist develops a lot of imaginative capabilities. Hindu puranas were part of ‘Chinese rumour’. Hence many may seem unreliable. If one needs to see mention about time dilation search for Balarama’s father in law, king raivata story. At some point in history, we have to presume that Vedas were the encodified knowledge book, which the educated humans were to hold them sacred and pass on to generations. But unfortunately, some link was broken as if the cryptography key was missing, which therefore resulted in the encrypted/encoded data being transferred over generations, but without the key. It is like a ransomware attack and the attacker himself died, resulting in a situation where the storage disk is almost useless until someone can decode it. Perhaps the story of waiting for Kalki is about the waiting of this decoding. (Needless to say that many of these are getting decoded slowly in this Kali Yuga). Regarding the claim that the ancient mathematicians didn’t know about decimal system or fractions, is poor research enough to establish that the student is biased though he claims otherwise many times in the video. It is also common nowadays to make fun of astrology. Whereas intelligent students of astrology knows that they have been defined as the eyes of science (eyes of the Vedas) and interestingly, we call prediction as insights in modern day mathematics. One can clearly see that modern day descriptive analytics is very similar to astrology predictions which is primarily based on time and events. An ancient sage of the South India, Sage Agastya who is greatly regarded especially in Tamil Nadu, has gone even further with a unique system of prediction called naadi-jyotisha, which many modern ‘intellectuals’ consider a joke. Strangely, modern statistical applications on AI/ML techniques are largely similar to what Agastya Maharishi has used. That the ML techniques based on correlation of human life used in predictions point to their high levels of mathematical understanding. The dandapani (guy with the stick) who is Lord Muruga is depicted as the commander in chief of the Devas army, knowledgeable of the future and even predicted his own father Lord Shiva’s fate of moving around with begging bowl. The story goes that Shiva cursed him (his own son) that let this science of yours be only 50% correct - indications that the primary foundational premise of any statistics is that a coin when tossed would have exactly 50% chance of falling on its head. The sad part is that instead of intelligent Indian boys and girls digging out the encoded stuff, our education system has been designed to keep away from the original Sanskrit texts by considering Sanskrit as a dead language and a language of satanic beliefs. Look at the difficulty the guy in the video finds in pronouncing the name of an ancient Indian mathematician 😂😂😂 And sadly he says he was educated as a Brahmin with the sacred thread of knowledge!! Might be very proper of him to remove it and hand it over to worthy boys and girls who could understand the language of the ancients. It is the same Chinese rumour that he is quoting very ardently that comes into play. Meaning that when a Sanskrit text is translated into English and then English text is quoted to propagate it as absurd, the translators deficient understanding turns to become the real absurdity, rather than the contents of the original Sanskrit text. This over time the original Sanskrit text is kept under the cover and the English translation becomes the Bible and later on the Quran !! Unless Indians go back to learn Sanskrit, they won’t get the keys to unlock this ransomware. There is strong reason to believe that these texts have been encoded out of fear of losing technology advancements to dubious societies that may cause harm to mankind. Maharshi Veda Vyasa is credited with the encoding of the Vedas and compiling it in its current form. The birth of Veda Vyasa as Krishna Dwaipayana and wherein he acquires all knowledge of the world in matter of few hours, probably could be indication of his being a super quantum computer that was built not with metal as in our times, but with human tissues. Today modern science has begun experimenting on storing data in tissues and proteins. Interestingly Veda Vyasa’s earlier generation (his father) was also born extraordinarily, and so was his next generation, his son who was born with a mix of a parrot (Shuka), and found to have acquired all the knowledge just as it was born. (Today with silicon chips we have computer servers that starts up in a few hours; and also some that start up immediately). It is also rather astonishing to find that the Mahabharata has many characters who are not born by the conventional human procreation methods; viz., Bhishma, Karna, the 5 Pandavas, Drona, Kripa, Kripa, 101 Kauravas, Sri Krishna, Balarama, to name a few. Therefore to wish away stories as fantasies is not too easy an intelligent mind. And if someone does so, he only loses another opportunity to grow intellectually which is a personal choice, but definitely not for a society.

Hey there. Your assertions in your comments are quite extraordinary, to say the least, and there is a lot to unpack here. It is far more easier to manufacture pseudoscience, than to refute them. Are you aware that similar claims exist in other religions as well? If you look into it, you'll find discussions about things like Black Holes/quantum physics being mentioned in biblical and Islamic literature as well. So I will just say "What can be asserted without evidence, can also be dismissed without evidence". Science is a process, not some sentences written in a book, and imagination is only the first step, not the whole process. Marvel has lot of stories on time dilation too, doesn't mean they are doing science. Reading your comments, one might think you are very knowledgeable in Sanskrit - so instead of making unfounded claims, why not delve into these texts further and uncover something genuinely groundbreaking that we don't know yet? Our country has no shortage of Sanskrit scholars, religious leaders and priests. If they really believe that ancient Indians knew everything, they should all come together, gather and read all the epics, stories and scriptures that they can get hold of, and produce a falsifiable theory that isn't known yet - complete with documentation on how to test, verify and reproduce their experiments, and practical applications to help us progress. Unfortunately, we don't see that happening - we only see them waiting until science coming up with the A.I, and then start yelling from the rooftops that this was already in Sanskrit. If you're looking to appreciate our ancestors' achievements, let's focus on the real, impressive stuff they did in their time. I hope your interest in our scientific heritage will encourage you to distinguish between factual achievements and exaggerated claims about ancient India. Making exaggerated claims about modern science in ancient scriptures, like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, nuclear weapons, and quantum computing - when they were still using bows and arrows during wars and living without electricity - only makes people disregard and diminish the genuine accomplishments of our ancestors.

Brother its good to have a Religion or rather Dharma (Dharma>>>>Religion) that evolves with scientific advancements. You should be grateful for the community feeling it evokes among your fellow Indians and all the Hindus across the Globe! Atheism has been a part of Dharma since time immemorial and sorry your generation is not the pioneer of critical thinking in Bharat! Spirituality is the need of the hour not just for India but for the global community because the world needs to heal and achieve balance. Your Universal physical laws only applies to this particular Universe but according to Dharma we are living in a cyclical multiverse with imperceivable dimensions. So please come out of your Brahmanical ignorance and be civilized! If somebody baths in cow dung that's not your problem or that of Dharma! People do lot of stupid stuffs on a daily basis. You don't need to own everything. And if you cut yourself out of Dharma then you become rootless! A rootless seedling is destined to fall!
@ashwinhariharan
@ashwinhariharan Месяц назад
Thanks for your comment! Spirituality is indeed the need of the hour, agreed. But, spirituality is wholly different from religion, or any other belief system. Spirituality must be distinguishable from belief systems because people of every faith and of no faith have had spiritual experiences. For your comment - "Your Universal physical laws only applies to this particular Universe" - yes, and we are made of this particular universe only. Yet we behave as if we are separate from this universe, seeking to transcend it or reach some "imperceivable dimensions", instead of fully embracing and understanding our place within this one, and causing harm where we presently are. For healing and achieving balance, one only needs to believe in well-being and be a compassionate individual; labels like "dharma" or some supernatural concepts/ideas are ultimately irrelevant. I would recommend reading Jiddu Krishnamurti to delve deeper into this topic of spirituality. His insights can offer a profound understanding of the subject. Cheers!

@@ashwinhariharan Agreed that we need rational thinking and we should also encourage free speech! But that doesn't mean that you should erase the civilizational memories. Dharma is not just a religion rather an ethical construct that originated from the Ancient times but kept on evolving over time and hence it does not adhere to a particular Dogma! There is no single founder, prophet, scripture or God for Dharma! Under the Dharmic Umbrella (Sanatan Dharma) you can find various religions (Schools of thoughts/faiths) and sects (clans, castes & tribes)! When you think only of the material world you won't be able to access the Spiritual realm. We need both materialistic views as well as spiritul existence. As rightly mentioned in Dharma, we need everything like Artha, Kaama, Moksha but in a balanced way otherwise it will hinder our materialistic existence itself! Let's think of the consequence of detaching yourself from this millennia old civilizational pathway. Without a Universal spiritual worldview you are susceptible to fall for any other malicious ideology that can ruin the lives of several succeeding generations! Why Dharma is important? There is no other Ideology that keeps the Ancient Nature based spiritual existence intact and ensures its continuation. It is the only ideology that upholds pluralistic values and promotes Multicultural existence adhering to Mother Nature that is to the Universe/The Multiverse itself! And therefore, I would say it is indeed the much needed Modern Day Ideology for ONE WORLD!
@ashwinhariharan
@ashwinhariharan Месяц назад
@@QuantumCosmos2.0 I appreciate your perspective. My viewpoint diverges from yours on this - the ideology one subscribes to differs from place to place, from religion to religion. And that is why attachment to a certain ideology can lead to conflicts and divisions. The greatest philosophers understood that there is no inherent distinction between the spiritual and material realms; these dualities are artificial. Attempting to separate them creates inner conflict. It's just like how we know that time and space are not separate; there is just one unified concept of spacetime. The meaning of "Dharma" simply is "right way of living" isn't it? So when one lives a good moral life in the so-called material plane, one is also always living a spiritual life. Spirituality is not about inhabiting a separate plane of existence, it is about being fully present in the current one, recognizing how our minds work, and being compassionate. For example, when you feed a hungry cat or dog and revel in the joy of watching it eat, one experiences moksha / bliss / liberation in that very moment - your reward is in that very instant, not reserved in some celestial afterlife in a different plane after you die. People of any faith, and of none, can experience this! The day people realize this will be the death of organized religion in its current shape and form. We see examples of compassion even in animals like dogs, who have no concept of Sanatan Dharma or Moksha. "Without a Universal spiritual worldview you are susceptible to fall for any other malicious ideology" - agreed. I'm of the opinion that the universal worldview one truly requires is "Compassion, mindfulness, and critical thinking" for a ONE WORLD, everything else becomes irrelevant. I will highly recommend you to read the book "Freedom from the Known" by J Krishnamurti. But truly speaking, we only need to read the book which is ourselves. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, namaste 🙏.
