@@caa4118keep in mind at least a few dozen million of those would be slaves, and couldn’t fight. Furthermore, civil wars take time to recover from. Even by say 1977 Germany wouldn’t be back to pre war strength

Something I find interesting is the usual pairing for Yazov's Russia in terms of the West Russian War/Great Trial is usually Goering. I've never seen Yazov be a Happy Ending override for a Gang of Four Germany, for instance, or for Pragmatist Speer to get bitten in the ass by the one thing he can't reform out of Nazism (its past), or for Bormann to spend his final years dealing with Yazov, likely killing himself with stress.
The tno is a somewhat particular mod, the idea of happy ending coincides more with the less worst ending than with the classic happy ending. Yazovs is probably a happy ending for russia (as he destroyed the world but his bunkers protected motherland russia from annihilation) but definitely not for the world! I would be curious to know how this thing will evolve in tno 2
@@ilcrucco3528 Yazov is pretty debatable at best in my opinion. Compared to Zhukov, Batov and Yagoda (you know, other military and KGB/NKVD officers), Yazov seems very unconcerned with the problems of Russia if they don't directly pertain to the Great Trial. Furthermore, while there are instances where Yazov appears to not have his heart in it, he keeps going anyway instead of trying to direct the Black League towards more civic-mindied developments. Sure, they build a vast network of bunkers - but those bunkers are specifically to survive Germany nuking them so they can come back out and finish the Great Trial. It's only after Yazov has lead the world to destruction that he really realizes what he did and works to rebuild - that the twitch of doubt he started having before the Fourth Thesis fully manifested and lead to him changing his actions. Compare this to Zhukov, who puts rebuilding Russia so it can function as a country for its people (as best he figures it), focusing less so on the military and more so on social and civic developments to get the Russian people back on their feet. Batov does similar, albeit only with the asthetics of the Soviet regime, as does the Komi Republic's many paths, Vladimir III, even it can be argued some of the actual fascists like Matovsky are trying to actually improve Russia (the only ones I can think of that don't are Oktan, who does so only to avoid being lynched, and the Aryan Brotherhood, who consider their job to further destroy Russia, and probably a nod to Taboritsky whose attempts to purify Russia for Alexei basically kill Russia). Yazov, by comparison, actually steals medicine from a village that was given by the Red Cross (not personally, but it's done by his orders) to devote even humanitarian aid to the Great Trial. Russia may have worse endings than Yazov, but I would not call the Black League a good ending, given how likely it is they left a significant portion of their civilian population to be nuked in the Great Trial. Compare this to Gang of Four Germany, which can be argued as a happy ending for Germany in a ways - even if it is very much so not one for Speer (who honestly deserves to get screwed over). They're on the path back to being a Democracy, with all the possibilities that opens up, arguably happier than they deserve, but many people enjoy denazifying Germany. REformist Speer purges Nazism of its worst excesses to become a cruelly efficient system that stands a chance at lasting the promised thousand years, making it more so a bad ending to be sure, but a 'moderate' one. I suspect Goering as the go-to villain for the Black League is due mostly to how perfect he is - Goering wants to basically re-start the war machine that caused the Black League to begin with and plunges the world into nuclear hellfire or dies trying - but I also feel this undercuts their hatered because you can frame the Great Trial as pre-4th Thesis styling (i.e. when the Great Trial was defensive).
@@RedShocktrooperRST I agree that the only possible epilogue with Goering is the end of the world on the contrary the Gang of is undoubtedly a happy ending. As for Russia ... I was not aware of all these details and all these informations are very useful to bring the situation into focus: Yazovs have one goal which is to complete the Great Trial, the improvement of the conditions of the people will come after reaching the goal. It is definitely not a happy ending for Russia ... But not even a bad ending ... It places itself in a limbo between the two: it is not the worst but not the best either. Let's say it is a bit in the style of Tno: it could be better but it could also be much worse. As for the idea of a defensive Great Trial (an idea I was poking around when I started working on the video) as much as it might make military sense, it doesn't fit in with Yazovs' aggressive stance. I think I will focus my attenction on the lore of Russian nations, especially Zhukov and Batov.
@@RedShocktrooperRST Ppl tend to forget about Kaganovich, who is the best for balanced civilian and mighty military development IMO, more so if unified with Zhukov's WRF. Kaganoich+Zhukov might have the best possible chance to get the real good ending, liberating at least pre-war territories, if not beating Reich that is crippled by the ruined economy after the civil war. Other warlords might not have enough political strength to build good economy that will maintain the military comparable to OKW, whereas Yazov just throws everything and everyone into battle not caring about the future after the Great Trial. The Great Trial itself is his meaning of life. They choose Goring to fight against because Fall Rot. Other Germany leaders can't fight Russia right now
@@alpharius6206 Kaganovich also carries some darker implications given Stalinism in our own timeline. While he's nowhere as paranoid as Stalin, some of his focuses can be pretty concerning, making him in a way one of the worse Soviets (not Tukhachevsky or Yagoda, but not exactly Zhukov). While he could peacefully unify with Zhukov (or Tukhachevsky or if memory serves Sablin and Yagoda). Furthermore an AI Kaganovich tends to suffer famines.

I find it strange how Göring is the current German leader, he hasn’t even conquored all that much yet we are in the 1970’s? I feel like it would make more sense for Bormann to be the current German leader.
Actually this is a legitimate question... In this timeline the German civil war lasted longer and started a little later than usual so Goering preferred to wait for the economy to recover before starting any conflicts. I will take this opportunity to see in depth how Germany becomes with Bormann (especially IF I want to get involved in the German civil war in the future), every suggestions are welcome in anticipation of new videos.
@@ilcrucco3528 Interesting, Göring will recover the economy in-game and then instantly will have to commence War Plan 0 due to the Militarist demands and I expect this to be the same in this timeline and that during the War Plans, the Russian National Reclamation Government will declare war. But here’s the thing, you said the German Civil War lasted longer, in Göring’s last focus during the German Civil War, it will say something along the lines of; “The civil war has lasted longer than anticipated, should this drag on much further, disaster may occur.” which makes me question how Göring won the civil war in this timeline. There’s also another thing, in the video, the Great Trial lasted for quite a while, long enough for Shörner to just think; “Hey, Göring isn’t winning against Russia fast enough, this is weakness and I will coup him now!”
@@pvzfan4208 I admit I didn't notice that line of text in the event, I'll keep these errors in mind for future videos and try to pay more attention to the events in the game while that the Shörner part didn't really cross my mind, it would have been an interesting addition! The entire world was also affected by the conflict between Burgundy and the OFN (represented in the video Operation Resurrection which is set in the same Timeline). As for a German win in the Great Trial... I haven’t played the mod in a long time and I’m not the most knowledgeable person about the current lore.

@@leMiG31 Omsk as I said in the last message, was prepared so part of the nation survives (someone in a comment extensively explained Yazov's approach to war and about how many people were saved) so in the end, while the rest of europe is on fire, Omsk and the insane state of Himmler are still standing
