It's not peace, it is a war song for our occidental identity. If you don't understand that, piss off. And it's not a foreign choir okay , this is a part of my heart. From where are you talking?
@@sadyuli2907 it's about a young girl, named Petrunka, she was going from village to village to search for a "horo" Bulgarian traditional dance. (Probably looking for someone to get married as well) Basically.. Then in her own village, she started a horo, In Bulgarian we say "you lead the horo". Then came a guy and he didn't enter the horo from the middle or the end, but went right next to Petrunka (getting married vibes). The last verse Petrunka was flaunting her hair, while the posy on her hair was crumbling (she finally got a guy) and with her legs she was muddying (from muddied) to get mud on her... shoes/slippers/flip-flops To translate it literally just can't really be done, so I'm interpreting what the song's about. I've heard that 80% + of Bulgarian folklore is about sex, it's just disguised with these weird words and traditions so young kids won't be able to realize the true meaning.
After our You Tube channel was destroyed and over 2 million viewers were lost, here it is - one of our best song selections. Hope you will enjoy it again!
It means that Slavic folk is brutal and Bulgarian choirs in particular have some insane technique. Folk in the rest of Europe is rich and beautiful (Europe would do well to remember it), but this is on another level.
Its ancient song, a bit modernized, but with the original text and the original old melody - its from our deep old past and the melody is just universal with those tone's and time signatures. Our culture is wize and ancient one. Thank you for your kind comment. Greetings from Bulgaria!
This kind of traditional Bulgarian folk music always makes me cry. Always gives me the chills. I never understood why but I feel like it just hits your soul… Im so proud to come from a Bulgarian family..
@@user-yn8du8wr1o I totally agree with you buddy. I leave 2 years in sofia with my local girlfriend...I will never forget this experience back there. Your country miss me everyday. Everyday. Bulgarian flag on my wall, planeta radio on my phone...
They are so good! I particularly love the vibe of the conductor. I feel like he's the archetypical conductor somehow. So much passion in this performance by all of them.
This is beyond the apprehension of most people on Earth. I include myself in that. I was brought here by one other Bulgarian folklor- Kaval sviri. May these people bring to us all life.
Met through the internet, fantastic voice group, hard not to follow. There are such good things that only the internet can provide, and you guys were a very pleasant surprise. Love you.
Crazy heard the pop version a couple of years ago and was curious if what I was hearing was an actual language. Then someone recommended another Bulgarian song that I loved and decided to search more Bulgarian songs. Came across this recording which confirms that the lyrics of the pop song version of this are indeed a real language and of course very beautiful.
How innocent, beautifull, motherly the womans are looking.Respect to bulgarians from India❤️❤️❤️.. this amazing distinction of feminine beauty is awesome.
Can someone explain the history and meaning of the song? I read it's about a girl name Petrunko who's dancing wild and waiting for her lover to dance with her and the reason why they sing the part "ay" or "yup" and stop abruptly or quickly is because they didn't want to get caught by their capturers. Is this true?
ok i know nothin about all that but the original folk song is about the girl (Petrunko) and her friends who are looking for a dance. they find one, shes leading the dance, and a dude who is baddddd at dancing joins the line in the front instead of the middle (which is the customary thing to do) and he like knocks the flowers from her hair and gets mud on her shoes and so forth. We did a version of this song in a different language than bulgarian in my church performance group and thats how the story went when translated. This version is very choral, like theyre adding embellishments for the sake of making it an interesting piece, but there is always the little "yips" to some extent because that is a common "adlib" to many balkan folk songs. sorry i hope i didn't make ruin the fun but i still think its a pretty relatable story haha
@@sophiamummert9544 I found this nice version of it. Hopefully, the person who asked the question can also see this comment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9t7KCkyDm5g.html

I heard this song when i visited a village struken my drought.thats the time i heard this song with real beauty.(we were there for help and one of my friends wanted to know if they knew this song and they sang for us as thankyou)
I think what I love music, but today I've been falling on another level. Have no words, except their voices are hypnotic effect. 🙃 Need to listen one more time.
