Citroen C1 (2005-2014) review! The Citroen C1 is a quirky French hatchback and a staple of sixth-form carparks across the country, but is this for good reason? Or is it just because they're so cheap... We'll be quickly showing you around the interior and exterior, and then taking the C1 out for a quick spin!

Bought my daughter 1.0 yaris with same krfe1 engine in this. Bought at19k now on 90+ nothing but service items and a back box. She’s been to france/ Holland and Spain and all over uk. Yaris is true 5 seater. Does 60 mpg on a run. Cruises at 70 no problem. Enough car for most if anyone serious about emissions. Economical in every way, metal, emissions, tyres, longevity. Awesome vehicles for modern living. Shite luggage but how many times do you need it. Get a roof box or tow bar for occasional use. Very simple diy too. All the service bits and coolant, water pump etc easy. Timing chain. Map sensor and emission control easily cleaned

Truth be told is that the Citroen c1 would be perfect for 50% of drivers in the UK. I’ve got a Suzuki Celerio and after over 30 years of driving and having numerous numbers of cars large and small I would say that it is my favourite car that I’ve owned for being an honest economical car and it literally costs me peanuts to run.

I had a peogeot 107 and absolutely loved it . I have the Suzuki celereo now, which is a great, simple car - spacious, frugal, cheap to own and run . I preferred that character of my 107 though and it's road manners 😊

My favourite thing about them was the rear glass acting as the boot lid. However, that's kind of it...

although a cheap solution and the definite Achilles heel the stick and the gear - box is not as bad as you' ve said, mine first broke at 58 K Km, but all in all this small Toyota iteration is a good, reliable small car, and because it weights only 830 Kg the small rusty engine still gives it a rather peppy character, mine had electric windows, AC and a CD player and for less than 8 K Euros was a great city car !

When you said french engineering I instantly knew you know nothing about the car. It was made in the Czech republic and is identical apart from literally the badges to the aygo and the 107. I bet if you reviewed the aygo you would talk about Japanese engineering even though it is the same car. Nothing about the car is french at all.
