Oh wow Danny, what a story and so glad we can all celebrate now! That 2014 was so painful for me... literally the same, we had a team that became stronger and stronger... the candidate was Germany but we had such a solid game in the final, we just couldn't score... and the opposite happened in 2022! 🇦🇷 Football is about moments and taking advantage of those small opportunities. Believe it or not, ever since Argentina lost 2-1 to my nation Saudi Arabia in the first match, and I believed that Argentina would reach the final, it is very similar to Argentina's opening match in 1990 against Cameroon. The Argentine national team is as formidable as it is because of the unwavering support of the nation's passionate fan base. Argentina can't lose with these kinds of supporters. In the beginning, they questioned where is Messi. Today, Messi is among the all-time greats. Congratulations to Argentina and I wish you all the best. ❤🇦🇷

I'm Argentinian and I think all added to make more epic: the lost of the first game, the trash talk from Netherlands Van Gaal and team that heat up that game, all the hate that we received from Spain (from Madrid fans) saying awful things to us, all the support we got from LATAM and the Asian countries, the penalty shoot outs, etc.

As Qatari we really loved the latinos in general and we love the Argentinan vibes. We loved that they enjoyed the experience and we noticed most of them are families or big friends groups which similar to our system. Before the world cup we were afraid for the safety (we should thank the media for that) but all our encounter were Pleasant. In my 1st day at work in the university(the place that the Argentinan team was staying 😂😂) my colleaguet work came to talk about work I responded with ( I am still in the vamos vamos Argentina vibes) 😂😂😂 congratulations

Despite the vast distance between South America and the Middle East there are a lot of similarities between Arabs and Argentinian fans (Latinos in general) I guess that is the main reasons for the growing support for Argentina and other South American teams. The negative attitude of many European countries toward Qatar is another reason of having almost all Arabs, Asian and African fans supported Argentina. Congrats Argentina 🇦🇷 Well done Qatar 🇶🇦

Since then faced a lot of heartbreaks 2014 mundial final, 2015-16 copa America early exit in 2018 mundial but never stopped believing in the Albiceleste shirt. I visited Argentina 20 years ago and i loved everything about the culture and how friendly the people were ! Also I loved their food specially their Beef! this video gave me chills down my spine!! I was so nervous on 18th that couldn't eat properly through the whole day. when france equalised at 3-3, I almost broke down on my knees, my all hopes were gone. And when montiel scored from spot I just jumped up from my seat kissed my tv screen so many times while crying.
