It certainly didn’t 🫠 Also yes, Prank-Kids did top 16 YCS Chicago, however for a YCS winning deck, it fell off the face of the earth in terms of the competitive meta-game and still was a rogue pick either way. Please make a video on YCS Hartford! First YCS since the lockdown won by an Australian who not only booked the wrong plane ticket, didn’t fill out his visa correctly and nearly didn’t go and the crazy top 8 match where Poe top decks Raye against punk adventure when he gets hit with token collector on hornet drones!

Yacine Sahli’s trap cyber dragon deck was a huge moment in yu-gi-oh for me. It wasn’t the fact that the deck wasn’t popular at the time. But it was reinvented and played in such a different and inventive way but was still amazing, and it’s one of my favorite things to see. It will never be as big as this upset. But it is still very cool.

Dinh Kha's deck profiles are always great. His lab list from Bologna looked insane. I was questioning why even play Arias in furniture lab until he showed up with trap tricks of all things, absolutely genius!

You should do a video on the YCS in 2010 when Frazier Smith won with Gravekeepers and all the history and crazy stuff that went into making the stars align that day. That is probably the single biggest upset in YCS history.

These history videos are so fun to listen to. Yugioh history is interesting, but often i dont see anyone covering stuff like "the biggest left field ycs win" and the like. Im sure theres def a larger audience for these presentation style videos

Granted using a picture from the event he got 2nd place with BA, doesn't really invalidate how good Dinh-Kha is at utilising under the radar strategies.

To add some extra context to prank kids, the deck did not release with rocksies. It was just the water fire and wind guys. It got rocksies early in soul fusion special edition which helped the deck massively.

Link-1 Miow-mu at 1: At least make it limit, every deck deserve a consistent opening if they can. 2: This will make the deck is more agrresive, because you can double board wipe with no worries. 3: This will be dominant again. . Either limit or semi-limit, this will give a different impact to their play style. And I think it is still balance for the game.

At my locals people would complain that the only reason I'd win consistently was because I'd keep changing decks every week or two for bad decks

One reason Borreload taking Colossus or Titan was such an important play in Prank Kids is that Fansies is also a Thunder monster, which provides fuel for their protective effects, making it that much harder for the Thunder Dragon player to recover.

I only play on master duel but prank kids is one of my favorite decks. Its an underrated strategy but "pranks" is such a fitting name 😂😂 apparently the best way to control the board is to keep clearing it 😂

The imagery you use for 'grind game' is actually someone cutting.

I found success in the deck at the same time and after Dink all the way up to the salamangreat structure release. I made top 16 at ycs Chicago early 2019 and 2 ppgs in late 2018 (one being before ycs Milan) and one more in 2019. Didn't have too much success after link 1 besides winning an LCS during covid.

1: great vid I rarely click this fast on vids 2: I remember one other guy played prank kids but they got paired at top 64 and din kha bui won (obviously) - in the final Federico mecozzi said that his only lost was to (the other) prank kids, in Swiss, so he was kinda afraid 3: I think din kha bui is sometimes kinda rude and very hungry for the win and might result is a bad playing experience during play, I think he is the seto Kaiba to the much nicer Paulie aronson (Yugi) . I’ve seen a lot A LOT of his matches in the last 8 years, he barely explains anything (not that u have to necessarily) but he uses little kinks at his advantage. I don’t love his attitude when competing its like he is not having fun sometimes. But…HE TOTALLY DESERVED IT AND HE IS THE BEST INNOVATOR OF THE GAME 4: the vid is veeeery good, I would change the paper background when u show the cards its the only aesthetically “cheap” thing in the vid

i miss playing pranks. getting back into the game after 10 plus years when md came out and climbed to top rank with pranks before the killed the deck. fell out of love with the game again shortly after

Funny thing, me and my cousin who also plays Yu-Gi-Oh saw that prank kids will be the meta buster that year. No one ever bothered reading it and never saw how abusive the deck really is. I actually used it against my friends though we don't have locals at that time.

I think the story of Eu2022 where rikka won its first event it's worth telling too.
