The Noonchester Mine Trail is a VERY EASY trail that does not require four wheel drive (4WD). As long as you have a little clearance, even a two wheel drive (2WD) crossover or small SUV can take this trail to the GREATEST VIEW in Tahoe. This trail does not take long, and if you are in Tahoe you MUST check it out. (Episode 12 - 6/19/21)

NIce views. I'll have to swing by the next time I'm going up to Richardson lake. FWIW you can support the local trail organizations by buying a viewpoint, with the TRTA or TAMBA. You can't put in a headstone, but they would make for a good memorial site.

Nicely done video. As someone who lives in Tahoe I'm torn on whether to like it or hate it. Social media has led the hordes to many of the once-quiet spots and the pandemic exodus from the cities has made it a million times worse. So much so that my family is now priced out and having to search for a new place to call home. I know content drives clicks and views but maybe keep that in mind as you run across uncrowded and unspoiled locations.
@TrailNewbie
@TrailNewbie 3 года назад
Great advice. Something to consider for sure. Not looking for clicks - hoping just to inspire people to get out and see the natural wonder around us. I hear you though - it’s tough. This world is changing, and so many awesome spots are getting overrun due to the whole remote work thing (which I’m definitely not a fan of 😫)

Ah man! Thanks so much! Really appreciate you reaching out. Based on my memory, yes, you would be totally fine. I don’t recall any issues of branches - if there were any, they would have been those minor ones that don’t scratch, just put some stripes through the dust on your rig. @TrailNewbie
@TrailNewbie 2 года назад
No, I don't think the Atlas is too wide. You should be good to go. Only would need to be careful as others might be coming down the hill. There are several areas to pull off and allow someone by. Just remember those traveling uphill have the right of way. I think you'll love this trail!

@@mattsharrock2141 that's awesome! You won't be disappointed. A really good trail for any skill level. And just a reminder - be extra cautious of the shelf portions of the trail. @TrailNewbie
@TrailNewbie 2 года назад
Yes, if it is all-wheel-drive I think you will be totally fine. Just be very cautious and do not try it if there is any substantial snow. Some of the shelf roads are a very long way down. You would not want to get into any sort of slippery situation on one of those. When I did the trip I believe it was in the early summer so there was just a little bit of runoff. I can look and find the date that we were there if that helps. I think it was late June. You will love this easy trail, the video does not even do it justice!
