Could it be possible that Reece James over-exerts in training which fast-tracks his growth but incities higher injury risk, whilst other players who play more consistently than him are more cautious and timid in their training which results in more of a slower growth but reduces injury-risk during games. Simply put, other right-backs are more intelligent in their training to ensure they are available to their team for the majority of a season.
