The “No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA!” came from M.D.C. in newer performances of Born To Die. On the original album from 1980 it was “No war! No KKK! No fascist USA!”

I firmly believe Dirnt playing Dookie levels of flashy would’ve hurt the album. Part of what makes this album sound so big and full is Dirnt playing the support instead of the lead.

Hey, Green Day’s “hiatus” of sorts wasn’t too bad for me. That’s when I really got into their back catalogue, in particular 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk. I had been a huge Green Day fan since 2010 when I was about 9, but I was only aware of their discography from Dookie onward. Listening to their more raw, punkier and more low-fi songs was a great experience and I have grown to love the songs off the first two albums as much as I love the rest of their work.
You're such a good and dedicated critic! I love hearing long, well thought-out opinions on things I love, whether it's my opinion or not. And your content always makes me happy and I'm genuinely excited to watch your videos. Thank you for this retrospective!
I get that you aren’t the biggest fan of Green Day, but this album was very concise and felt like it had more passion put into it. I don’t regret listening to this album, and it holds a special place in my heart.
Did not expect a sly Johnny the Homicidal Maniac reference. I used to love that comic book in high school............ I dunno fi I still would, lol. When you were talking about how the band was trying to do too much extra shit and how it affected their quality, took away from what people came to for in the first place, it was pretty clear to me that you were talking about yourself aswell. I've been watching and supporting you for 3 years now and while I've had a few issues here and there with your videos, I always knew that what you said came from a good place. Regardless of whether we agreed or disagreed, it never felt like you were insulting or looking down on anyone for feeling differently about something and I always respected that about you. I just wanted to let you know that regardless of whether you praise an album I loathe or trash an album I hold dear, that I similarly respect your opinion as you've always respected mine and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the future............... you're still wrong about Dream Theater though. XD
For the record...I never watched you 'in spite of' that 'extra stuff.' That was part of the REASON I watched you. But I understand why you abandoned it--it is possible to burn out on that stuff. And I'm glad we finally made it here.

Congrats on finally slaying the Big Green Monster, Crash! It's been a long road, but I hope it was as fulfilling for you as it was for us. Like, I know from your Twitter just how much of a... chore this retrospective became for you, but I sincerely hope you found some satisfaction in completing it. All that being said, this was a great conclusion. I was already a huge Green Day fan when the retrospective started (as in, like, American Idiot is my favorite album of all time level of fan), but part one and part three in particular of your retrospective really put everything in perspective and helped me appreciate the band even more knowing everything that went on in their lives. We may disagree on a couple things (like I actually enjoy quite a few tracks from 21st Century Breakdown and consider RevRad as one of the band's top five alongside Kerplunk), but like you say, the only opinion that really matters is your own. Plus, your retrospective convinced me to give Warning a chance... and I now love it. Once again, congratulations on finishing the series and I wish you luck with your future content!

This is the first video I've seen of yours, and it's fantastic. Instant subscription, and you've got yourself a new fan. Revolution Radio is probably a top-3 GD album for me behind Nimrod and Dookie. Every song (except Troubled Times) bangs.
green day got announced as an induction into the rock and roll hall of fame on my 20th birthday that is just plain poetic (got into this band with American idiot when i was 9 years old and caused me to pick up my first electric guitar and learned the whole album and kept playing to this day)
21st Century Breakdown > Revolution Radio Don't care what anyone says. 21CB is my favourite GD album. So many of GD's best songs are on that album. RevRad is still a great album imo but no way would I rank it higher than 21CB. Great video though! I hope MCR is the next band whose discography you discuss (no rush though)
I like 21st Century Breakdown to some extent. Some tracks work better than others but production is pretty solid & lyrics & instrumentation still maintain a bit of that same energy & fire from the previous album. (I mean that's more than what I can say about the trilogy.)
Nice end, though I am a little disappointed with not mentioning God’s favorite band or anything really after RevRad. But thematically, it was nice how you tied GD into how you make retrospectives. Hopefully we can get some commentary on some of these for the stuff you missed before potentially tackling MCR?
Yeah because the bands progressed after both the ends of your retrospectives and largely not in the way you’d think. I mean, Billy has two sons making their own awesome music and Weezer kind of is in a pretty weird place again that’s not quite at the EWBAITE hype but still not really at a Raditude slump.
Digging the wallpaper Crash, ...but Rocking with Robby did it first. The difference is the choices in albums for the most part. Great stuff as always and looking forward to what you'll do next with the other projects you've been working on.

I'm a big fan of Revolution Radio - in my opinion, the majority of songs are enjoyable. Say Goodbye isn't great and nor is Troubled Times but I still consistently listen to the rest of the album and enjoy it
Does anyone else get Mark David Chapman vibes from "Bang Bang"? Revolution Radio is the best thing they've done in so very long and I am a big fan of 21CBD. It sounds like they've managed to grow up AND return to form at the same time. I would like to hear your thoughts on Billie Joe's new project, The Longshot?
I watched this the whole time anticipating when Still Breathing would pop up and I wasn't disappointed. I think it edges out Bang Bang by a razor thin margin for best of the album.
Dude, thank you. I was disappointed in 21st century breakdown, and the trilogy broke my heart. I took a step away from the band after that. Your retrospective review inspired me to check out revolution radio. So glad I did. Feels like meeting up with an old friend.
the whole thing about the mix making you turn the volume up is one of my main complaints about the album it just makes false impact thats not really there
Loving the new (old?) format. I remember thinking during th GDR stuff that as enjoyable as they were they could benefit from a trim and you pulled that off excellently! Like the idea for the new background as well, though if I have a small complaint your outfit does blend in with it a little l. Maybe a light color filter over the background just to seperate you and it a little? Just a thought! Very excited to see the new direction for the show! You seem very rejuvenated!
Man I really loved your work, you may not have a great videos like in between but you still made it really nice specially spending over 4:30+ hrs explaining about Green Day and God knows how many months it took for writing and all behind works. There were moments where I do disagree with you bit still it was amazing to hear all that anyways, nice points man. And some things you just said were really New to me as I'm a core Green Day fan for life(lol), this was not about what you said it's about what you produced and that hard work you have done for it to be an almost perfect series. And yeah I really loved that still breathing piano cover in background.(if you can give it somehow than plzz) Well done bro, thanks for this amazing series of my favorite, life band GREEN DAY💗💚! One of the biggest reasons the trilogy sucked was the over-production of songs that were supposed to be a return to roots and raw. Demolicious gave us raw cuts of those songs that sound better as demo's than they do as over-produced crap. That was Mike Dirnt's point about the songs sounding like Lookout! rather than a major label. How was that not obvious?

Like don’t get me wrong, I like this album but... “I wanna hold you like a gun, we’ll shoot the moon into the sun.” “Looking for a cause, all I got was Santa Claus (camouflage)” “Hallelujah I found my soul beneath the sofa pillows.” “We will be seen, but not be heard.” ... the hell even is this shit? Also, what are your opinions about the Longshot?
Next "Retrospective"/"Rise and Fall of" depending on your opinion on later works maybe incubus? i know you like them from the nu metal list and them being a part of the logo and as a fellow incubus fan i think you'd do them justice by chronicling a very underrated band in my opinion
