@Chico 1985 the movie was actually very good and Kato was def a step up for modern times, the only thing that was horrific is Seth Rogan turning the Green Hornet into a spoilt, imbecile, buffoon, fat, entitled, weak, cant tell his asshole from his elbow plucky comedian... all qualities a superhero is not.
This TV series is so ahead of it's time in so many ways, especially compared to Batman. Who knew way back then that we were watching a martial art icon in the making...Bruce Lee as Kato!
John Fleshman I watched a episode the other day, green hornet launches a flying drone from the trunk of the black beauty and has a screen pop out in the backseat so he can see what the drone sees which we all know is 100% possible today
I don't how old you sir, but when I was a kid we didn't care about Van Williams. Every kid was trying to do karate like Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was the one we talked about.
@@Brother-Bare Well I lived at a small coastal town and I was 13 years old and I had a crush on the Green Hornet I thought he was so dreamy so handsome!! I thought the car lights were pretty then but I wanted to see the Green Hornet to me he was so wonderful I liked Kato and I liked his accent because some of our school friends were also Chinese but they didn’t have an accent they wanted to try to be able to speak like him! As a married woman and have a wonderful husband and family all these years and know what I should be thinking and I Love Jesus at 70 I just went through what all youngsters go through but Van Williams was a extremely talented actor and he helped out Bruce do you really think a thick accent would have helped him he had to learn how to speak English well and he did and they stayed close!! I only wish the big shots would have given it another year!

Reed and Malloy, of Adam-12, made a guest appearance in the pilot of Emergency!, then in a season 5 episode the crew of Station 51 are set out on a call while watching an episode of Adam-12. Emergency! was a spin-off of Adam-12, which itself was a spin-off of Dragnet. All three were produced at Universal by Jack Webb's production company Mark VII.

Truly spoken, but the paradox of the Batman show was they were "riding on the deal" for three seasons while this show only went one due to Burt Ward (Robin) complaining that Bruce was getting more attention from the fans -especially during the fight scenes. I'm pretty certain the show would have out-classed Batman in the second season had it went the run.
@ZoneFighter1 They could do it in the same style of Gotham. It could work if the public has forgotten about the POS movie that Seth Rogen foisted on the public.
@ZoneFighter1 Maybe the Green Hornet could have 'bugs' in the municipal computer systems, manipulating face recognition software? Making cameras break down or look elsewhere when they go past? could be an extension of the tech they use in the series, along with drones like the old Scanner they had?
@@DanTDrac That terrible Rogen movie really soiled ruined the Green Hornet for a lot of people. If it had been played straight instead of some stupid comedy I think it would have been a much better film. The first problem it had was Seth Rogen in the lead. If it had been the original idea back in the day of George Clooney pre Batman and Robin as Britt and Jason Scott Lee as Kato I would have loved to have seen that version of Green Hornet.

But the Hornet and Kato were on two episodes of Batman pretending of course to be the bad guys. But Bats had his suspicions and thought the Hornet was a secret crimefighter-- after the Hornet beat the crap out of him! I miss those days.
I Love that the Crooks were watching Batman. So Cool. And not only was the Rolling Arsenal The Black Beauty a Sweet Looking Ride but Every vehicle on this show was Sweet. ..
the people who put out the batman series also put out the green hornet shows. even used the same musicians as the musical soundtrack of the series except for the beginning and end of the show the trumpet was played by al hirt who was a major instrumentalist of the time William dozier produced as well I believe. there was also a clip of the green hornet episode on a batman show once.
Hmm, probably thought in universe that creates a little cannon conflict since The Green Hornet and Kato meet Batman and Robin but a year later give or take although at the time I bet they had no intentions of doing an crossover so it woulda just been a cheeky nod to the other show.
I had to use a Deuce and a Half for one maneuver in the Army when I was loaned to NBC. They gave me this piece of junk with "Salvage" haphazardly sprayed painted on the hood. The Colonel was walking by and barked "What's that, Private?" Thinking quickly, I replied "It's the name of the vehicle, Sir!" He said "Well, name it something else!" I painted out "Salvage" and put "Sally Sue."
Green Hornet has a very modest hide out vs Batman's huge underground installation!!!! However, Green Hornet has a much more powerful side kick that Batman!!!! Kato!!!!
Should have been an hour show the only thing that works in half hour format are sitcoms. 25 min then take out intro and opening music the outro music and credits maybe 20 min of show.
So many ways just like batman. Thats twice now i have seen someone watching batman on the green hornet. I'll have to check the credits at the start and see if it's the person who did batman. If it's not man they stole so much from Batman. Batman was on long before Green hornet.
This show holds up well because it was played as straight drama (at the insistence of Van Williams). No campy silliness as with Batman, which I now find unwatchable.
To many and bruce was fight coordinate. So ahh his moves more miss and soft too soon 32 grand master light WIEGHT... .. The BLACK cobras in my 60.s i remember it all .
This team of Green Hornet and Kato is way better than the team in the movie!!!! I know it was suppose to be a comedy but I really did not find it to be funny!!!! Green Hornet was not the brightest bulb in the box and always being disrespectful to Kato was something I really hated!!! I liked the actors but I did not like the story.
Gerry Dooley I don't think you get the gist of my question. The DA knows Hornet's identity. If he lost an election, could the Hornet trust the new guy?
Yes. How does a politician with a best friend that owns all the quality media in the city get re-elected? Especially since the leading crime boss hasn't been identified let alone captured.
Obviously, if DA Scanlon lost an election, the Green Hornet would lose an inside connection to the police department and would have to develop another connection.
@@fatcat8033 lack of budget, they didnt have the large budget to use huge lights to light up the locations for night time. requires alot of lighting and trucks and generators and most of all time which was against them as they were already working long hours.
the difference between batman en the green hornet wen you look to the tv show you see this more fore kids young kids en this is a cartoon like you look in a comic book. i remember that movie when batman fighting wen a shark get him you don't need a pair of glasses to see that the shark is plastiek. en al things are fake. but this is no a real movie just a funny cartoon that the like to look like a tv show that's why the like more batman show than the green hornet. you see that the fighting for real and the gadget is not fake the bad people are not like batman a joke that is a real tv show and the partner from the green hornet is not so like robin in batman bruce lee make not joke with bad guys. that's why the like more batman tv show than the green hornet. but a like the green hornet tv show more than the batman.
