Okay this proves the Black Beauty is a million times better than the Batmobile. Bulletproof, rocket launchers front & back, a mortar, the scanner/drone, can release Hornet Gas, a PA system, rigged for silent running, the carphone. And she's a helluva lot more realistic than Wayne's ride
Not to mention their scanner (drone) was probably the 1st to ever be seen in a TV show or movie. - This show was for sure waaaay ahead of it’s time. I still can’t get over how short-lived it was & would like to finally see a reboot of this series instead of more TGH movies.
@@valiredavis2534 The audience had essentially been "dumbed down" by the "campy" Batman and were expecting that again instead of the drama/seriousness of the Green Hornet. It was only after it ended after only one season that it gained a following in syndication and was appreciated for how much better it was than Batman
…And to think that Ford and BMW actually approached the producers of the 2011 film so that one of THEIR cars could be used as The Black Beauty!! What a Joke !! Even though Chrysler Corporation’s IMPERIAL DIVISION no longer exists, the IMPERIAL luxury automobile has become so ICONIC, and so identified with the GH and KATO, , that NO PRODUCER would DARE using ANY OTHER CAR to be their BLACK BEAUTY!!!

It was good how they fleshed out Mike's character when he tells Britt about needing to show the younger reporters who snicker at him that he's still a top notch journalist. It gave Mike dimension and a touch of poignancy.
As well as the gas. Not to mention what a pain it would be to have to park in the exact spot every single time. An inch off in either direction and splat. You'll be out a car.
As Kids all We talked about was Kato an the Black Beauty back when it aired, I try an tape them on ME TV but they put on at 5 am , that channel is good for putting all the good stuff on odd hours an overdosing Us on stupid comedies . Cool show
To: Speed Racer. WELL SAID & SO TRUE !! MeTv ALWAYS has the best shows during the overnight hours and continuously bombards us with comedies throughout most of the day & evenings. Such a waste. Also, it would be GREAT if MeTv would add the classic Speed Racer cartoon to their morning or weekend schedule. Always loved watching it. ☺☺👍👍

maybe not a "live-action" show but the animated series "Jonny Quest" lasted only one season (1964-65) and is remembered as one of the most realistic and best-written animated series of all time-it ended because the budget was huge to make it and ABC wanted the show's creator Doug Whaley to "cut corners" to save money--he refused and so it was canceled (although it had great ratings)

I know, love seeing them. They also bring back a funny memory. When my wife and I moved with her three children into the home we had purchased,the three young children came running with an old rotary phone they found in a cabinet. They had only seen phones with buttons. Their question was, “But How Did you Dial?” We thought this was hilarious because dialing designates a circular motion that can only be done on a rotary phone. Technically you cannot dial on a phone with buttons, but the term has survived despite being inaccurate.
Van Williams was a very private individual and didn't like Hollywood at all. He said in an interview in 2011 (a year before his passing) that he only really had two close friends in his lifetime--Jeff Hunter and the late Bruce Lee

I have The Green Hornet series on DVD. I also, love listening to The Flight of The Bumblebee music. It doesn't matter how old that track is because it still sounds Great to me!!! But oftentimes I've wondered if there is an instrumental song for a Hornet, since a Bumblebee is a different type of insect although both are classified as Types of Bees? Hornets eat flesh! Bumblebees don't. Just a thought. 🤔 It's too bad that The Green Hornet didn't have more seasons like Batman. And Green Hornet movie disappointed me too! It was awful really!!! We never saw The Black Beauty Destroyed in the series, like it was in the movie! A tragic waste of money 💰 on a forgettable movie 🎥!!!

F.X. premiered in 94 as a new cable channel, and i still remember the green hornet and 66 batman being the only things they showed for awhile over and over. I have waited SO LONG for this to be released on dvd but legal issues hold it up. Its 2024 and still no dvd box set.
For the sake of the tv show Kato hits these guys multiple times before they finally go down and even then they are defeated a lot faster than Batman and Robin would defeat them. But if this was real a solid shot to Bruce Lee would cause them serious internal injuries from which without immediate medical attention could easily lead to their death!!!!
For somebody who played the original Enterprise Captain and Jesus Christ this two dimensional Green Hornet crime boss of the week is pretty sad to watch. Jeff should have at least got to play a Batman villain like Two Face with a bit of complexity to the character. He really needed a better agent.
This is the real Green Hornet the Green Hornet from the movie was a sad not funny joke!!! Seth Rogan is an excellent actor but the part they had him "sucked"!!!. If they were going to make the Green Hornet movie a comedy then they should have hired actor Kevin James (From King of Queens) to play the Green Hornet then it would have been very funny!!!! Comedy is his strong point!!!
When I saw Bruce Lee I knew he was from the green hornet that he made it in Hong Kong and he was back again and Hollywood took him back to do enter the dragon movie
I have to admit that I am TOTALLY obsessed with Van Williams, which sounds like I need psycho-therapy since this show is sooo old & he was old when he passed in 2016; not to mention he never even knew that I exist, lol. I just cannot get over how handsome he was; he was even more better looking to me in TGH, than he was in Surfside 6. 😩 … Lol. 😂
Too dark of a filter on the camera - the only reason any of us kids watched this was to see Bruce. It was boring compared to Batman as it wasn't a kid's show. But to watch them now they are really cool noirs with cool dialogue, but they were shot too dark and you miss Bruce.
