I absolutely love my Gretsch guitar. Such a thing of beauty and the sound it produces with and without all my pedals, I am happy to listen to it for the rest of my life.
I just bought the New 5427T in Flame Maple from MF. The G5427T is a special run/Limited Edition I believe it is what is now the new G5420T at least that is what I'm reading and hearing on what little info there is out there on this particular model. It has all the same specs as the new 5420T mentioned in this video. The depth at the waist is smaller at 2.5 it is also around 1/8 of an inch thinner ( body depth )at the lower bout even though its listed at 2.75. I looks slimmer to the eye and feels more comfortable to me than the previous G5420T. I haven't had it long enough to comment much more on it, but I love it. I will say the new FT-5E 's do sound brighter than the old G5420T.
Love my Electromatic Tri-Five Hollowbody, made in the Korean plant. If you ever sell Korean made Electromatics in semi hollow with the P90 pickups in them, I’m buying one… or two. 😉
I bought a 5410T Rad Rod a couple years ago. It is a great sounding guitar. Once you have a master volume on a guitar you wonder why every electric guitar doesn't have one.
@@brandonlesko3126 I agree, that's why I love Fender guitar's so much, especially because their position is a little more easy to reach for volume swells, but it's not too hard once you practice a while with Gretch's placement.
I love Gretsch so much my father bought me a 5622TG for Christmas and it was actually built on my birthday, I’m a Gretsch fanboy the best guitar company ever I hope Gretsch gets my thank you letter and my custom design
Gretsch needs to start using a new naming system, love the guitars but using random numbers like 5655 is a horrible system. It's incredibly confusing when your guitars all have an extremely similar name.
Lefties still don't get a Bigsby... so that's an extra £260. Thanks Gretsch! Still love my G5420, although that G5422 in Snow White does look enticing...
My 2013 proline double anniversary G6117T-HT has a trestle bracing. Thank God I bought it because by 2016 Gretsch hiked there prices to a whopping 40% more! They are unaffordable now!
Jason, Why don’t you put Dynasonic Pick ups in either the Electromatic or Streamliner lines as an option? Your current Filtertrons are just humbuckers in sound. The bite and twang is gone! Please bring it back.
I bought 19 new 2021 guitars in the past 12 months (yes true. A healthy way of working though a lot of trauma in my life). A couple of Fenders, Squiers ans mostly Epiphones and 3 Gretschs. My impression is The Gretschs look good, the build quality, fit and finish is very good but the pickups are not at the standard they should be for the money. Rach was $1000 plus in Aus dollars and they just don’t stack up for my mind. Pretty though.
I wanted to buy a Gretch hollow body electric guitar in black with silver to match my Epiphone Les Paul Custom. I Really like the look, and more so the sound of Gretch, so, since my wife told me I can't buy one, I am going to buy one! I will do a follow-up. A friend of mine had a beautiful Gretch drum set...it was tits...
Folks, I get that the marketing wonks feel obliged to earn their keep -- although we're way past the time where "shimmering highs" should be reserved for budtenders -- but just what the hell *is* an "FT-5E", and how does it compare to the HS Filters? Tell you what: Just sit Setzer down to A/B one of these with whatever of the current 6120s he genuinely thinks sounds most "classic", and then I can decide. It can't be that difficult to arrange.
Message to Gretsch - a) STOP introducing new pickups with no information on your website about them. b) STOP putting low output PAF style humbuckers in most of your Electromatic range c) START adding spec details on all your pickups on your website. d) Don't lose the biggest Gretsch point of difference - it is filtertrons and dynasonics e) STOP shooting yourself in both feet :)
Stop using shitty bridges ! I just put a $15 roller bridge on mine that solves all the issues I had with my G2420T ! Guitar is night and day better. Im shocked anyone who reviewed these didnt mention the issue. I love the guitar now, but I feel bad for anyone who doesnt know guitars getting one of these and having the issues I had.
Do the new walnut 5422tg guitars have blacktop pickups and a tonepost rather than trestle support under the bridge? They are priced 999 vs 899 locally and online.
I have a Grinch I don't know what model it is but it two tiger switches three pickups and five knobs I need to know how I can get a book or get somebody to tell me about this guitar it is a gretch
May be you can enlighten me. Im a amateur 3d artist, im modeling a Gibson/Gretsch style guitar, im a Guitar owner (wont say what brand). I've opted to create a Bigsby B7 Vibrato Tailpiece, so Im needing top and side profile images of it. But all i can find is a top down/blue print image. all other images i see are realy angled photos. Im trying to get exact prints for my art work. Any one know of a fully fledged blueprint (top, side views) on the Bigsby B7 Vibrato Tailpiece?
Another message to Gretsch Corp - if you want to generate any interest in the alleged new Trestle bracing then provide details on your website. How does it differ from the Trestle bracing in the Setzer sig models? How does if differ from the previous tonepost bracing in E's? Where's your video doing feedback tests A/Bing the new Trestle bracing v the old Toneposts? Where's your diagrams showing exactly how all 3 look?? If you provide no info you'll get no interest and no comment!
Beautiful guitars as always, but I have to laugh at CEO's who think they should be part of marketing material. Classic marketing faux pas. It just distracted from what we could have seen. The customer is always right. :D
Just like Fender guitars there are too many models of the Gretsch guitars. The differences between them are often minimal . And because there are so many models you have to make a study of what the differences are ( look for example at the Fender Stratocaster , it's unduable to hear , see or know the differences between al those models ). Gretsch used to be an exclusive guitar and the Fender Company destroyes that image. Sure , they are well build and sound great but I think they had to make the collection way smaller so it stayed an exclusive instrument . But money calls so I guess they had to . I am glad they saved the brand and build the guitars very well but the marketing is overdone .
Except for that burst, the finishes are, once again, nothing to write home about, but at least I didn't see any sparkle and glitter or neon Orange. (That blue looks almost like a color a cheap department store guitar might have). And what is it about natural/blond that, in the past, only their cheapest (ungretch sounding) guitar model came finished in it? Natural/blond is a great lookin guitar finish. Unless you have looks and wardrobe that Stephen Stills and Neil Young had in 1967 to match your guitars, white paint never looked good on a Gretsch Falcon.
Please stop manufacturing in China. I love and own Gretsch guitars. I hate cannot buy any more in good conscience because of that. They hate us and somehow still reign supreme in the manufacturing sector of our economy. Why not use our ally, South Korea?
@@pinkiewerewolf You're going to have to spend a couple grand if you want a Japanese one, and almost 10 grand if you want an new American one. I can see buying a Korean guitar for 5-600, and even 900 for a fancy one (which none of them truly are), but paying that much for a Chinese one? They're insane, yet people will still buy them... They're really desperate trying to hide the fact they're all Chinese now too.
@@user-tf5lg7fc9s I’d pay more for a Korean made guitar. If that’s why Fender/Gretsch is moving production to China, they underestimate consumers. Keep the low end Steamliner guitars production in China and Indonesia.
I don’t know if the people at Gretch actually read this stuff, but I’m tired of seeing Player edition Gretch guitars. It’s pretty insulting when your spend $900+ on a guitar only to have the manufacture label your guitar ,not for guitar players. Does anyone else find it slightly annoying that Gretch insults their customers like that. I don’t mind them calling the high end guitars delux, or special……, but if the expensive ones are for guitar players, what are the cheaper ones for, kindling?
In essence btw, the new Chinese models feature cheap imitation Filtertrons heavier trussleblock to make up for terrible construction which would prove the Chinese factory guitars have bad resonance even worse electronics than before and horrible tune o matics which need file work right out of the box!
What model mate? I've got a cheap Jet (l don't know the nos 5222?) it's a walnut fretboard & it's fine.. the pups however are too hot, lve lowered em...it's helped a bit.
