Yeah I the first time I seen this scene I had miss the rest of the episode. I was like WTF did Cartoon Network showed a kid getting brutally murdered by a cat?
@@Batmanbeyyond Either or could be right. But either way, you can tell that something like this was a little TOO much for a kid's show, don't you think? Couldn't you hear the slashing and gushing sounds? **shudders**
The episode with the chocolate sailors, grim talks to the boy at the comic stand then they come alive and chase him off, you can hear them rip him apart in the distance.
And Billy took that lesson to heart,(and his face) because he does a callback to this episode by repeating the same quote Mandy said to Grim during the Zombie Martian invasion.
As a kid I always assumed she shoved two of her claws in billy's nose and scratched it to bits since she mentioned picking noses. It was a graphic visual.
The grim adventures of billy and Mandy was one of those many old CN shows that were a bit dark even for a kids show. Mandy as milkshakes literally scratching billy's face with very sharp claws.
If we're being honest, this scene didn't faze me as a kid. Now, seeing it again almost 20 years later, I feel a certain terror I never felt watching before.
Same, it didn't faze me as a kid, it's a wonder that I didn't get nightmares as a kid from this. Although......I did have nightmares as a kid, so....I wonder if this was a contributing factor, who knows.
Great Judge Roy Spleen, that was an unsettling episode in hindsight. The fact Billy's behavior utterly freaked out everyone whom he came into contact with while in Mandy's body (especially her parents, who look even more scared of "her" here than in any other episode) to this scene. Especially the fact Mandy clawed his eyes out.
'I deserve to be punished..." Ask and ye shall receive.. Though she must've heard something worthy of some leniency. I mean What would have happened if Billy said nothing and showed no remorse? She was clearly just biding her time, waiting for Billy to fall asleep. What was she planning?! That show of guilt and remorse clearly touched her since it made her rethink whatever she'd planned to do and instead opt for something a little more immediate.
Considering how much trouble Billy constantly causes in most of the episodes in The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, the Codename Kids Next Door and Billy & Mandy crossover special, and even in the Billy and Mandy video game as well, I'm actually surprised that Mandy, Grim, and (at times) Irwin are still Billy's best friends without wanting to end their friendship with him.
@@VampireFan-rf5kbMandy because she still sees him as useful and his rather dim witted personality makes him overlook a lot of the stuff Mandy puts him through. Irwin it may be the case that he doesnt wanna give up his only friend and lowkey his access to mandy by extension
Mandy's moral stuck with me throughout my entire life. And I always tell it to people before they engage in some form of jackasserry. Most of 'em don't listen - but they do learn the moral in the end.
Mandy simply could've just kicked his ass normally, but nah she went that extra 10 miles to make sure this kinda thing never happens again....... EVER!
Out of all the characters she has voiced throughout her career as an actress, Mandy is my personal favorite that Grey DeLisle has ever been blessed amongst the numerous of voices she was born to sound with and put on the big screens of television for generations of kids to hear and recognize.
Back when Mandy was just plain mean and cynical with a bad temper before the final two seasons managed to make her more hateful and ruthless,but she was pretty scary. You see,Billy,this what happens when you piss off Mandy.

As Maxwell Atoms, the cartoon’s creator, stated in some podcast, she actually became that way is because she literally tasted pure evil in the pilot episode, making her a sociopath.
It’s obvious. She does supernatural things all the time. For instance, she has the ability to control anyone she wants, including her parents. Plus she doesn’t have a nose; she only has nostrils that flare when she smells things like Billy’s stink bomb.
Oh I was THOROUGHLY satisfied. To this day I smile when I watch this. When I was kid had to beat few of my friends and family members for playing too much as well.
when i was young and saw it i actually thought that mandy actually mutilated billy, like hearing the scratching noises made me thought billy was being cut open

fun fact mandys voice ie also vicky from fairy odd parents and emily elizabeth on clifford (the later series not ghe 80s shorts. That emily was voiced by the same actres who was the original lunette the clown on big comfy couch)
Billy was wrong for possessing Mandy but mandy took Revenge too Far if you listen you can hear Billy Screaming my eyes mandy slashed his eyes and kept slashing him even tho he said sorry over and over again
