Fun fact: There's a phenomenon in aerodynamics known as the "ground effect" which creates greater lift and reduced drag when flying close to the ground. Over the years, several countries have experimented with the concept using aircraft known as "ground effect vehicles". Given that many designs need the ground effect to be able to fly, these could arguably be referred to as "ground planes".

When I was little, I thought flying was so magical that part of me thought it was fake and that the plane was traveling on the ground. My brain had a hard time comprehending how surreal it was to fly. Now I'm studying aerospace engineering to design flying machines

It's literally always a visual and musical treat whenever Bill Wurtz uploads. I have very little idea what's in store for me, but I know it'll be a classic each and every time.

The word “I’m happy” has never had such an expression

I feel like the meaning of this is that he doesnt want to leave his comfort zone (the ground) even though what he's going through (the plane flight) normal requires him to go into the air (out of his comfort zone), he also mentions that should things not go his way he would go back to the ground (return to his comfort zone) and has said many times that he prefers the ground. Some evidence of this is when he says that the trip there is smooth and clear rather the with ups and downs he means that staying on the ground is much easier. Bags empty and schedule cleared might mean that staying on the ground was simplier and his schedule would not have any events on and his would have to "pack" anything. Should you have a different opinion please do comment, why am I trying to make sense of something I would see when I'm as bigh as a kite, I dont know. Bigh is intentional, its a joke, I know it ruins the joke but some people might not get it and I dont want to get someone correcting my spelling even though I probably spelled something else wrongly.

I love how you can't predict any aspect of his videos. When he started with his 3D animations, we were like "oh that's a thing he can do now" and expected that to be the new direction of his craft. Now this video is closer to the way he started off, with 2D animations combined with shots of him singing and/or playing instruments.

When you think about it, a ground plane is really just a large and more expensive version of a train.

Feels like this song is about managing mania, the ground plane represents the ability to stay out of mania. The happy train is a manic episode, unable to manage anything but giving into interests, at the expense of all other aspects of life.

Man after watching these for so many years….each one has the exact same charm it did when I first discovered them. There really isn’t much out there that’s like this, which is good because these are one of a kind….it’s got this nostalgic feel I can’t explain. Due to labor shortages after 2020 some airlines, most notably major US carriers like American Airlines and United, are using or at least considering shuttle busses for certain short-haul routes. Sort of similarly, many major airports in Europe are slightly outside the cities they serve (including my city's airport, Amsterdam Schiphol) and operate train or bus services between the airport and city.

Honestly if a ground plane existed and this song would play as soon as the take off occured, you already know I'll be buying a ticket for that plane. Another good song and video Bill 👍❤️
