I think the san andreas definitive edition looks much better than the online mobile version which was sold as a "remastered" but in case of gta 3 and gta vc the original mobile port look much better than definitive one (the only thing I hate about original mobile version of gta vc is the yellowish filter which was also available in max payne mobile but in max payne there was an option to turn it off)
GTA definitive edition is slap in the face of reality for people who overhyping GTA 6. We need to remember again Rock$tar is not what it used to be, they are far more greedy right now as you can see GTA 5 from decent games turned into cash grab trash, they don't even stop milking GTA 5 for 10 years which is insane. Not to mention they keep selling broken remastered trash which is far inferior to original version. Honestly i don't have any faith with GTA 6, i feel like Rock$tar somehow going to screwed it up.
Tbh it probably was also nightmare for GSC every re release is port of port and every port added it own issues. This new mobile version is port of DE which is port of X360 remaster which is port of mobile which is port of PC which is port of Xbox which is port of PS2.
@@egg46577most PC’s don’t have a disk drive anymore and the originals were taken off all the online storefronts so it’s really hard to play the originals on PC anymore
The coolest thing is that Rockstar or Take Two hired another studio that worked in the VR port for L.A. Noire. Although it's possible that devs don't know how many details have been butchered in TDE by GSG, they still made massive improvements in these mobile ports. Not only the lightning, but various bugs regarding collisions and animations in SA have been fixed now.
The resolution is less and no more cubic windows nor dynamic car light but the ps2 filter is back and the character models have some slight improvements
@@vinewood1554 Same. I got an iPhone 11 pro max and I'm waiting for a patch. I'm sure our phones are capable of more. Heck, the latest iPhone can run Resident evil VIII and Resident evil 4 remake.
I just wish they fixed the geometry issues with the games. I can’t drive or walk past a single street or road without finding horrific geometry alignment that lets me see through the map. It’s particularly bad in SA, where entire stretches of highway are completely detached from the grass and pavements, so you just have an enormous empty void running next to the road
@@nitrosodiumthat’s stupid argument cause phones will get faster and faster. Also iPads can play RE Village but not 60FPS GTA ports of 2 decades old games because of some stupid FPS lock?
@@ProtectusCZDon't forget the game was intended to be played at 30fps and some things break at 60, like slower swimming, dying while jumping over certain obstacles, car doors not closing from physics while driving and so on, better than just making it 60fps and keep all the bugs like they did on consoles. Besides, it's not a matter of whether or not a phone can run it at 60fps, but 30fps will always make it work less meaning less heat and less power usage/better battery life. Having options in general is good but I don't think 60 is worth it, maybe a 40fps option would've made more sense
Hey, just wanna say thank for you for being such a good, pleasant force in GTA modding, especially for GTA IV which is the game that holds a special place in my heart. I fell out of playing my modded version a while back, when it seemed like people were kinda scattered/toxic in advising others which mods or game versions to use - and your content seems way more progressive and positive, so cheers!
@@ChainikVladFunny thing is that there was a GSG developer portfolio like a year or two ago that showed the mobile version and it's vehicle shaders, and it had classic lighting enabled
@@HeySlickThatsMe Yea, I remember PC version of DE had touch screen menus from mobile versions, so I think they've wanted to develop it right after "big" version release.
But the most annoying thing is that you can't turn motion blur off it's so annoying really butchers my frame rate hope they make an option to turn off motion blur off and on 😭😴 Otherwise I ain't playing it
Sadly, yes. I would've loved a remaster that topped it. Can't even give up SkyGFX Extended's wind shader now... It just looks so nice, even with the vanilla low poly trees. 😅
Guys what would you recommend? I want to play this game like the old days. I'm gonna get a PC. So, PC version with PS2 mods or just play it on a PS2 emulator?
I have tested these games on several devices and pixel 8 with it's tensor is definitely the worst. My Samsung tablet with snapdragon SOC and iphone 14 pro run and look much nicer. Can't imagine what you have experienced on your pixel 6. You should definitely check it out on a different phone. So far, I'm really impressed with the changes, although my expectations were very low.
I think a lot of what Rockstar visioned the Definitive Editions to be has kind of flopped, they were planning to at least make it an entire revamp and entire overall of the graphics and atmosphere but due to contracting another company to do it's work for them, I don't think it got very far and in-turn kind of flopped leading to the downfall and quite literally heavy backlash.
Is there a guide about mods for the original PC to make it as close to the PS2 version and essential improvements? I'm looking for the perfect classic San Andreas. experience.
There was a weapon mod i installed in the mod loader folder of sa's main directory the weapon works fine however the ammo stat is capped to just 190 rounds for the SMG, 186 for AK47, 102 for the pistol and just 30 for the SG and I can't buy or use the ammunation glicth to get more ammo. Good thing I backed up to original game so I can reinstall some those life improvement mods for gta sa.
The lack of analog acceleration is a big issue, a big part of the experience is driving around. The removal of pressure sensitive feature in both game pads and the iPhone was a wasted opportunity. They should add direct support for PS3 controllers or an option to map analog triggers to acceleration in every console.
If the pixel 6 is stuttering then there needs to be more optimization done, as far as I know the Tensor and Mali chips are similar to the Exynos 2100. Hopefully it'll be fixed in a later patch.
Dude, you can actually play the day one GTA SA 1.0 at smooth 60fps thanks to the modders throughout the years, especially if you own the removed steam version since you can get yourself a legal downgrade. If you want to play the original experience as less buggy as possible, just get yourself the day one release and fix mods like SilentPatch, SkyGFX and Framerate Vigilante.
Im very nostalgic about this game, and i tend to prefer that remasters stay somewhat close to the original artstyle. In this particular case however, i actually love the new skybox 😊
Despite the two other city's weather are absence with Killing In The Name absent too...but atleast it's looking pretty i love the sunny weathers it's like bringing the nostalgia back to the 2004 vibe...
Anyone getting the following error message when they log in? something went wrong sorry we re having trouble with your request please try again later error code 7006
I cant even download the orginal version of vice City and GTA3 for mobile because apparently my device to too new?? Says "this app was made for older version of Android "
I say for a part of a PC game that is a port of an Xbox game which apso happened to be a mobile port of a PC port of a PS2 game. I say it looks pretty decent.
Does classic lightning work in SF and LV? I only saw comparisons in LS, which is yes, the most atmospheric part of the San Andreas, but SF and LV also have distinctive colors, which is why most of mod restorations of old lightning for Definitive Edition were disappointing.
This is what I mean when I said we don't know yet. I haven't seen anyone progress the story to that point in the game and I don't believe weather for those zones activates until the zones become unlocked. So just travelling to them right away, won't work (could be wrong here).
@@TJGM ah damn, well - hope we'll get the answer soon, but I won't get my hopes up considering even this Netflix update didn't fix many of the issues and I got the feeling that all cities got LS color filters applied to them.
I tested on the original pc version I started a new game and went straight to las venturas. Only cheat I used was never wanted. The region specific weather was working as it should, so it's probably not tied to story progress but I guess it could be different in definitive edition which I don't have
Hey man, i have Pixel 7 and its running well for 30 minutes or so and then the game dips down to under 30 fps, but i play very little on my phone so its not a problem for me, i hope they will improve the performance.
I was just expecting a video from you! I'm also skeptical about the new atmospheres, and I very much doubt they are fully functional the exact same way they were on the PlayStation 2, but at least now the games look a bit closer to the originals, eh? We can finally spot some sort of effort there, haha.
I just stick with the originals. They've messed this up really and I don't think the price on mobile of £18:99 per game is something I would want to touch.
Alot of problem in gta sa definitive/netflix 1) honk- honk button is gone during the mission with rider you need to honk to throw the creates but instead double tap and hold to throw it 2) lag- android 11-12 sometimes lag due to overheat (recommended lower resolution) 3) pc/mobile/xbox/ps4 etc alot of them has the same problem some don't some have this prove gta trilogy/definitive edition suck 4) plane- hydra is the only problem here you cannot fly it the even if you push it the 5) all of the above including the pc/xbox/etc version
Don't forget about the compatibility issue, as the trilogy is supposed to work on devices with android 8 or above, but in google play store it shows that the device isn't compatible, and it shows I need android 11 to download it
Nah there's a problem I think the draw distance or motion blur while you're driving frame drop it happens every seconds but if you're not driving the game was smooth and stable fps at max settings. I use Poco f5 snapdragon 7+ Gen2
Probably because you were going at a high speed and the game had to load the draw distance faster? I'm not a game developer, so I wouldn't know, but I'd assume that's the reason.
Did you notice that yesterday, another GTA SA definitive edition for android was released by Rockstar Games for 19.99 dollars? I saw that in Play Store, it may not be the same with iOS.
The problem i have with the mobile version is when I set the resolution to maximum and changing aim to aim assist, it sets back to default settings when I close the game, that means I have to go to settings every time I booted up the game which pisses me off.
I would say this is better . I use AtherSX2 and while I enjoy VCS and LCS . SA definitive edition looks amazing in small screens with these improvements
So is this not coming to the console version? I hope it does. I won't play it until then. Might as well. I don't mind. I have tons of backlog over the years lol
As a game developer for both Android and iOS, I can tell that developing anything for Android, specially games, is a freaking pain in the ass. What do work and looks good on one phone will be completely broken on another one. My recommendation is do not buy an Android for gaming unless the game you want to play is unavailable on iOS. If it's available on iOS, do not buy a new iPhone. Buy a second hand or a refurbished iPhone. Apple doesn't deserve your money.
Do you think it will be possible to install mods on mobile versions in the future? I tried to snoop through the game files, but they are all limited, only being able to modify direct things in the apk that could corrupt all the files. I don't know, this isn't for me, but I will be very happy in the near future to be able to use modifications in the mobile game

I no longer check if the trilogy got updated/reworked as it should have, instead, I followed some of your tutorials and made my own SA definitive edition.
How are you playing the original on PC? This would be my preferred choice of playing but I can’t seem to find a way to play it. Did you purchase before it was hidden on the web stores?
Listen i know the changes are coming soon to pc and console but this is just embarrassing. So many people spent $60 on the game just to have major issues not get fixed barley any updates at all and now its on mobile basically for free for a lot of folks and it looks and plays better than the $60 actual release
Honestly these games need to be fixed I was going to buy this when it came out, but instead I've been waiting two years for the game to fixed, I know the original studio that put this game out was kicked off development, and now I think it's under Rock Star or some other company now.
I played the GTA3 definitive edition on mobile, i experience some slow loading with the textures when I'm driving too fast, some audio bugs where some audio like police radio and gun sound effects gets cut off or not make a sound anymore. I find it annoying that the car health indicator is hard to tell, fire is barely visible, and the cars are still as squishy and weightless as ever but i still enjoyed playing regardless
@@charlesviscountportalofhun5423 ironically, GTA 3 has better destruction physics cuz in GTA SA the lightposts and stoplights still fall off the map (and grenades sometimes fall through the ground for some reason)
The performance is not good at all, playing on 1920x1080 (portable monitor) on Motorola Edge 30 Ultra (Snap 8+ Gen 1, 12GB RAM, UFS 3.1), it keeps stuttering and can't load the textures on time in GTA 3
it ran pretty smooth for me... and I have an iPhone 11...... maybe just because google uses their own tenser chips....the game probably has not been optimised for that hardware
A stutter that happens like clockwork tends to be related to peripherals (including screens, controllers, etc) that aren't functioning correctly or have a hyper-specific compatibility issue with the game. I recently had one that was caused by my second screen that wasn't even turned on.
@TJGM so… today the bast way to play this game on pc is having the Classic edition on steam , using some mods to get the oldschool atmospheric, but i ask myself “how can i get the game, knowing steam replace the Classic to this bad ports?” Just dowload the game on internet or some plataform is still sealing the original one?
