Keith Marks, Production Manager for Raiding the Rock Vault, gives you an up close look at the guitars of Howard Leese - best known for his many years with Heart and more recently with Bad Company and Paul Rodgers. In 2013, Howard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Heart. Howard's preferred guitars are PRS - Paul Reed Smith - guitars, but there's a nice surprise in the arsenal! There's an exclusive live rehearsal video at the end with Howard Leese and Michael T Ross of Raiding the Rock Vault.

We had fun with that one. Howard was with us many years and we loved playing with him. He's retired now.

Howard has it right , use a great guitar and amp set up, minimum of pedals and let it rock ！ Been a Howard Leese fan going back to his Heart days . A great and tasteful player ！

You can't fake a great sound. Nothing beats a cranked Marshall, and he's right to use 75s instead of 25s. You want the distortion to come from the amp, not the speakers getting pushed. I've known too many players who blew out their 25s. They really can't handle all that power.

We claim Howard as a distant cousin. True or not, who knows? Alone by Heart is a big, big hit here in the Philippines so always say hey! That's my cousin playing guitar.

You are so right about PRS.... but I prefer the old 70's and earlier Les Paul's ..... it was a blessing to hear Howard play Kossoff's burst last night in Texas while performing with Bad Company. ... the "Koss" is now privately owned by a good friend of mine. Such a magical instrument brought to life by the Master himself. : . )

DSLs are great. I like them much more than JMCs. They sound like good, modded JCMs with something extra. I'm getting one soon.

PRS general feels good regardless of the guitar I've picked up. Most Fender strats are oain in the ass. Gibson has some good feeling guitars byt not ad consistent as PRS.

Howard's a gnarly dude, but I fucking hate PRS guitars. Sorry to shit on your deal rep who convinced ol' Paul to pony up the dough for this production. Good advice on the Mercury Magnetics.

Howard bought one of Paul’s very first guitars. The Golden Eagle. You can hate on PRS all you want, fact is they make a great instrument. Their American made guitars are the only large scale production guitar I would buy sight unseen and know it would be well built and play like a dream. Modern Gibson and Fender are horrible on QC by comparison.
