You make some great points...many of us are just average gun owners, stuck in the middle. I grew up with guns. My grandfather and great-grandfather were both sheriffs. My dad, his brother, uncles etc. were avid hunters in their younger days. This was during the Depression and WWII, when guns literally meant putting food on the table. They had a shotgun, deer rifle, maybe a .22, maybe a 38 revolver (for just in case). What I'm getting at...this was a normal part of American culture. There was no "gun culture" like today. I don't tend to sit around and long for the good ol' days, but it would be nice if people - on both sides - would acknowledge that aren't interested in extremism.
I agree. From both ends of the spectrum, there are too many screamers trying to play gotcha with the other side. Even with things I totally agree with, it has the aire of being off-putting whether it's right or not. So many folks are focused on sensationalizing the facts, and are seemingly more interested in the view count or number of likes a lot of times than having a positive impact. I am about to make my second ever gun purchase. Had a Ruger Security Six Stainless forty years ago, sold it because I needed money. I’m 65 now, can’t defend myself and my wife like I used to so I intended to get a concealed carry permit and look forward to training and the sport of firearms. Doing lots of research, that’s how I found you. Long story short; I am a recovering “Democrat.” I left that kind of “left” after 2016 and COVID. I had no idea just how superficial, hypocritical, and dangerous this fraud of a system and two party charade truly was. Anyway, I feel much better not being a part of the mess. Thanks for your perspective, I really appreciate it.
I like your point of view on alot of stuff. Thanks for the thoughts. Keep on keeping on. If everyone in the world was as level headed as you seem to be the world would be a better place.
