Had Mo in his pocket and i’d argue Onana by putting the ball at Salah’s feet instead of palming it to the side gave Mo a lifeline because 1v1 AWB won .
These three together, swapping stories, offering insight into the game, and ribbing each other continously, it's absolutely joyous. I listen to a lot of Pods but this quickly became my favourite and remains a highlight every week. Keep it up but maybe space out the Questions episode's so you don't burn yourselves out or become sick of the sight of one another! Howay The Pod!!
However this may be true, it’s difficult to argue that when Liverpool were on top in that second half, we looked as bad as we ever have done. They were excellent and we were passive and looked like we were going to crumble like we often do. We rode our luck and thankfully we got through it, which we don’t often do. People talk about our inconsistency, with regards to results, but for me it’s our inconsistency during actual games. We look great and then concede a silly goal and all hell breaks loose and we crumble. That’s the problem for me.
that's why Enzo let Palmer shoot penalty in match against Arsenal on august when Sterling tries to take the ball from Palmer hand before the penalty and Ian Wright praised Enzo for that if Enzo was on yesterday match he would do the same thing
As good as United were, Liverpool were absolutely atrocious in the final third. So many chances, so many misses. Gakpo was absolute crap, Harvey took so long to shoot. Mo didn’t do anything, Nunez and Diaz were invisible when they got their chances. Whereas for United, Mainoo was superb, McTominay was fantastic going forward, Rashford despite missing his first chances scored when he needed to, Antony made an instant impact, AWB is said by many to be the MOTM and I don’t see an argument against that. The whole United team was absolutely superb. Only issue with this squad is the lack of consistency at times. They can go from this to losing 4-0 within a week. If they can just fix that and help solidify the core, they’ve got exceptional talent to help spearhead them into a glorious new era at Old Trafford.
It was a great weekend for the FA Cup as a tournament. As Al said, apart from City v Newcastle, there was drama in abundance, particularly in the Coventry and United wins where the games swung back and forth. Also, 20 goals across the 4 matches is not too shabby.
The FA CUP has got so much history over the years there have been many great games. Love your podcast and you guys. From Justin in West Midlands, England 🏴.
As a man utd fan it will be nice to see Robbins return with his Coventry team, they do worry me as their work rate and pressing was unbelievable at times and we looked tired, gotta question our fitness level. Maybe that's why ETH, makes them run so mutch in training. The magic of the FA cup is very much alive and this weekend proved that. It was a great advert for the beautiful game
The absolute best that about Mainoo is he just looks like he would fit PERFECTLY into the England midfield no matter what rotation they throw in there. Jude/rice,foden/Maddison, whoever else that's on there. Everybody in that team is so so good that Mainoo and his confidence and smooth play would amazing in there
Koby is getting better each game, but I think he needs another year or two. He's great going forward and brilliant feet, but he was originally an attacking player, and needs time to learn the positional side of his role. It sounds harsh but would worry it would just interrupt his development. So next tournament imo. Hard to see him not being there if he keeps going
But we can’t just rush him in. We’ve seen what’s happened with sensational talent who get pushed into playing on all fronts. Mainoo is a fantastic talent, but he needs to be properly integrated into the England side. There’s no doubt he can play the role that Southgate would want him in, but it’s a question of does he have what it takes in the big games, which internationally are a lot slower and often more physical and less technical. He doesn’t necessarily have the experience yet in the squad, but he definitely will before the next tournament. Whether Southgate decides to try him out this summer, we will wait and see.
Tbh, The first 20 minutes was all united then Liverpool started to get back into the game and made it 2-1 at half time. But then second half, Liverpool were a bit cocky for sure by taking salah off but definitely united deserved the equaliser. But extra time was pretty much all man united, apart from that one Elliot goal. So it wasn't Liverpool giving it away, it was united winning it deservedly.
Gary Neville is massively underrated. You can’t compare him to how right backs play now because the game has changed. He is still the best right back that has ever played in the Premier League. After Beckham left United Gary Neville was the best crosser of the ball at the club, and pretty much the league. I’m glad Alan picked Neville, and he won overall as he is still ahead of every other right back, though this may change soon. If City go on to win a fourth Premier League title, and/or win another Champions League, then Walker will over take Neville on achievements and will probably edge it. I’ve said many times you cannot compare different eras by today’s football/standards. You have to compare their achievements in their own respective eras, and the impact made during those times.
Rashford needs to track back at times especially when he looses the ball. And Mactomany when he fail to score he leaves the defence wide open it's been a problem
Mickey from South Africa. Love the Podcast. Keep it up. Well done. Question. If you could rate yourselves on a Fifa/FC type football video game. What would it be? (Out of 100). And what would be your top 3 positive/negative attributes? Feel free to rate each other for banter. Stay blessed.
I jus enjoy watching u guys tlk bout football n jus b men equals boys at time lol its jus a complete package of what life gives from individuals love everyone stay blessin this world
So glad Alan said what he said about Amad's second yellow card. The commentary on Paramount (the colour commentator was horrendously biased tho) said he was silly for taking his shirt off while already on a yellow 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Some ppl just shouldn't be involved in football, thankfully the three here provide some levity and reality to the sport that is much needed.
And a day later. Manioo is in the England set up. I always see Jones vs Manioo for a callup but why not both? Two good young players there with Bellingham and Rice in the mix too. I think England have always had great players but cannot just get over that line. But with these young talent players. I really do think the future looks bright. But only time will tell
Hey guys love watching the pod from Malta! Stop beating around the bush, what would be your starting 11 for England at the Euros if the tournament started tomorrow and everyone's fit?
Newcastle have been a class above all of the teams mentioned by Heisenberg. They competed in the Champion's league regularly under Bobby Robson. Much more prestigious than any league or FA cup win.
Why is the YT podcast 25 minutes longer than the one on Spotify? Is it more extended clips so I have to watch the whole thing again? Or extra at the end?
I think players should be treated off the pitch and I'm surprised Big Al doesn't agree. I remember when Neil Lennon cynically head-butted Alan's foot, David Batty dragged Lennon off the pitch despite him writhing around in agony. 😂😂😂
To be fair the gap in quality between Man City and Chelsea is probably the same as the one between Man Utd and Coventy, an interesting one in terms of BBC picking the bigger match
I can’t believe Micah wasted his FPL Wildcard, loads of people used their Free Hit, I have taken a hit the last two weeks to get 11 on the pitch. Interested to know how Micah is doing this season.
Why do fans keep repeating the myth that ffp exists to protect 'the big 6'? It took at least 8 other premier league teams to also vote for it to bring the rule in - Chelsea haven't benefitted recently, likewise if Liverpool's midfield recruitment had gone badly this season they could easily have struggled like last season - they were only 8 points above 8th. (newcastle fan)
Micah sold muniz 😂 i bought him. I also have spurs though but they have luton west ham and forest coming up so they will bag some goals. Especially agaibst that b team luton defence
Hi guys, love the pod I’ve been a regular FIFA player, now FC24, and have often used icon cards, which are retired players. For example, Pele, Eusebio, Bobby More and the Premier League top goal scorer Alan Shearer, World Cup Golden Boot winner Gary Lineker, but for some reason, no Micah Richards? Have you ever seen clips of celebrations from within the game when players have scored. And also, Micah, how come you don’t even have a Hero card within the game? Much love guys. From Elliot Gallagher
been watching your top ten podcast and saw the best relegated players, how on earth was Michael Owen not on that list? miles better than all them on the list in his prime bar keane.
