I don't understand some comments from fellow Indians. Whether you acknowledge it or not, caste based discrimination is one of the biggest issue that we face. We should start respecting each other whether he is from a different caste, religion or country. I know it is not easy, it is like swimming against a strong current. I, myself am having difficulties in convincing my cousins for an intercaste marriage. Once you start talking against the caste system, they all agree but when it comes to marriage, you will see a different reaction. I have been to Australia and some European countries for work, and when in Australia, I have faced racism. One from an Australian guy, and another from Africans. Believe me, there is gradation there as well. It happened only thrice during my short stay, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Then I started wondering how beautiful my country India is or is it? Just look around, it is not as beautiful as you think it is. Acknowledge it, and start making changes, it starts from you. “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” I'm doing my part.

I really feel like donating at least a 100 dollars worth of rupees to him. He has a tough life yet thanks God for what he has and doesn't reproach himself. I myself don't believe in any religion but it's beautiful how much effect God has on many people. That's highly commendable and I have to admit I still complain about small things. All of India's greatest gurus were against lineage caste system. They said caste shouldn't be determined by birth, but by inner strengths and qualities.

I don't know much about Indian social status stuff but from what little that I read/watched, i think it's enough to say that it's horrible and inhumane, it's hard enough for people to be poor and have to do not desirable jobs, people should help them instead of looking down on them and treat them like grass. I live in a third world country but the people are generally kind, if someone treats another less fortunate one like this everyone will think their personality stinks.

The Bombay municipal corporation does provide workers with high quality protective gear, which they just sell and spend on alcohol.

The very best film of last year, a movie called *Court (2015)*, is about the death of one of these sewage workers. A protest singer is accused of inspiring him to commit suicide.
