Not even 95 in a lot of cases because (A) some of the violet candypop buds won't even spawn if you have 20 or more Purple Pikmin total and (B) some of them exist on randomly generated sublevels where they're not even guaranteed to spawn in the first place. If you only do each cave once, 95 is the upper limit.

@@TheTrueBrawler 95 takes the first issue into account, but not the second. Granted, it assumes that you play HoB before most other caves, but since you need to use some weird exploits to skip it without reentering EC, that would not fall under "dumb game design". I've also found that while random generation CAN keep some of these candypop buds from spawning, most runs you get them all. Regardless, kinda dumb that perfect play with perfect rng, still forces you to grind a little. (but I guess that makes it less stressful for speedrunners since they have to farm whether they lose purples or not)

@@nyon7209 out of the ones that spawn you can get 95. There is 1 that will never spawn due to a bug.

@@ryan20028 No? Where is this 1 that will never spawn supposed to be? There are some that won't spawn if you have 20+ purple pikmin, but that's not a bug. Other than that, I've checked the data files for every sublevel, and there isn't one that consistently fails to spawn.

@@nyon7209 Shower Room 5, maybe? The wiki says there should be a violet candypop bud there. I spent a lot of time resetting that specific floor, and I never got a layout that had one.

Yeah Pikmin 3 is also on the switch. I’d recommend playing it if you’re a Pikmin fan, it’s just personally my least favourite but it’s still good

I think Pikmin 4 is overall good, but it has so many problems. Lock on should have had a toggle, I didn't like Collin and Shepherd talking every 5 seconds, Pikmin 3 captains were done mega dirty, not super crazy about the Flarlic system, HATE we're only limited to 3 types (would have been nice for an ultra spicy mode), don't like that enemies Don't respawn as it removes even more urgency imo, the loading hints SPOILED the Smoky Progg for me, Charge should've been there from the start, Pikmin lose flowers way too easily, and overall I miss the multitasking elements from previous games. Adds to the strategy of real time strategy. I thought Oatchi was a fun mechanic, but I wouldn't want him to be a mainstay unless he got a nerf. Likewise, ice pikmin were too op, but not in a fun way like Puruples in 2 or Wings in 3. They freeze enemies way too easily and I don't like it since overworld enemies Don't respawn and as a result, you baically sac more possible pikmin for a drop of nectar. I avoided using blues as much as possible unless I needed to

@@azellumius8835 They are part of the new play control re-release as many games from the gamecube got ported with as the name states new controls. So the Switch is the 3rd release of the first 2 games. Pikmin 1 relatively speaking was available in most places gaming but in comparison to its gamecube release it was still more meager then that one but it was more prudent thanks to it being released in North America during 2009. Pikmin 2 on the other hand... It did not release in North America despite its prequal releasing everywhere else in 2009 it would only finally release in 2012 thanks to said Nintendo Selects line a line of games Nintendo re-released some old classic titles which the New play Control version of Pikmin 2 was one of them. But for the majority of it unless you knew it existed or you were shopping in one of the few stores during the times that sold new play controls or Nintendo Selects releases like I was it went under peoples radar. That being said the new play controls version was also released on the WiiU Eshop but that console did poorly by nintendo statistics. So in other words Pikmin 1 was made when the gamecube was still very new, and Pikmin 2 is only attracting that small fan base that jumped on GameCube gaming early me being one of them. And on Wii Pikmin 1 did finally get a solid world wide release on a official popular console but Pikmin 2 did not until way later during the consoles tail end just months before the WiiU came out. Both games were on the WiiU via Eshop or could be played on it via Wii mode and using there physical releases, and the third both existed in physical, and digital form on the WiiU so for a good long time the WiiU was the best way to play all 3 titles since it was the only console that could. The problem is the WiiU sold poorly so the console that was best for Pikmin was a poor selling console in the market. Thus when the Switch came in and released ALL 4 games in the Eshop making it now the best console for pikmin that's why were getting a LARGE resurgence in interest, and a large amount of new players is because now the whole series is getting unanimous global exposure that it has been lacking at getting for the longest time.

Go for the wii verions. Imo, wii mote is the best control for Pikmin. Tho ig they were ported to Switch, too
