Thank you for sharing your personal stories. Feeling unsafe, been singled out and not been treated equally, is hurtful. We need stronger laws and more education. To start addressing those that think they can get away with it.

This was really sad to watch - I was especially moved when Jim started to cry and told the story about the kids controlling his wheelchair. That is appalling behaviour and so dangerous. What would happen if they directed him to a road? I don't know how people can be that harsh. I'm glad rory is comfortable in his own skin because he looks awesome the way he is and should be proud that he doesn't change for other people. The first guy who spoke about when he got physically abused - my brother is gay and the EXACT situation happened to him. People at a pub kept looking at him and calling him the f word, he spoke back and then beat him up. Its happened multiple times where he has had to go to hospital. I hope other people stay safe as well. Thank you for sharing your stories.

So cruel and malicious. The majority can be so nasty. It broke my heart to see the learning disabled man as I have worked with these wonderful people in dance movement who are like me. The world is not a nice place under the Tories. I have had enough of them. Let’s be kind and care for those who don’t have a voice ❤

Name calling and offense should never be made illegal. Freedom of speech is the freedom to offend, it isn't just the right to say nice things to each other. You need to go through life with a tougher skin knowing you have no right to impose your views on anyone else and vice versa. I'm a gay man who grew up in a small Welsh mining village (yes I was the only gay in the village) the fact that I have a sense of humour and was able to combat offense towards me with jokes I managed to break the ice very well and had quite the happy adolescence. No one likes a whinger, life is tough and some people won't like you but it's your job to behave with dignity and not tyranny. Hate speech laws are tyranous and do nothing but bring attention to the minute differences between us because of our race, sexuality or sex. If a Christian or Muslim Baker doesn't want to do my wedding cake I'm not going to go cap in hand to the government to force these people into doing what I want, this is so wrong and does more damage to the cause of sexual minorities and any other minorities. We are all one nation, one britain, one people under one common law. We cannot allow outrage extremists change the law to restrict peoples speech and divide us along lines of race, sex and creed like we havnt been for a very long time. The best you can do is be moral and treat all people with respect and hope for the same in return.
