There are no shortcuts to success. The guy who is earning 3.5 lakh will earn more as he climbs up the ladder. No one will become manager in 1 or 2 years, though he can get a certificate claiming the title. Experience and knowledge matters to establish self in any field. Superstars have stayed for decades to reach where they are today. Patience and perseverance matter in life. Otherwise, everyone would have become Elon Musk. Life is not a 20-20 cricket match to get the instant result.

I'm 2010-14 BTech from Tier 2 college. Worked at a mass recruiter from 2014-16 (the usual 3.2 lpa). Had a lot of fun outside of work - first time getting 20k in hand, first girlfriend, own vehicle, anda maggi at night, always surrounded by 4-5 friends, making money while bei g on bench etc. But 18 months down the line, it really kicked me to leave Hinjewadi asap, get a masters and get into finance/consulting which is more managerial. Came to France, did an MSc at a cheaper cost than IIMs and got a finance role an a trillion dollar evaluated company. Advice to 22-23 year olds - DO NOT stay for more than 2-3 years in IT. It's too slow and designed to keep you middle class forever.
@jal.ajeera
@jal.ajeera 7 месяцев назад
What rubbish. It depends upon whether you like the work or not. You didn't, so you moved on. Many do, so they stick around. IT is the backbone of societal advances across all the fields. If you're a good engineer, you will earn a lot more than any other profession. Check median salaries of IT professional in a country like US. After medical profession, it's the IT field. In India too, various disciplines of IT are in the top 10. Advice to 22-23 year olds, stay in IT if you like the work and are good at what you do. If you get a job abroad, you'll earn way more than median finance guy. You'll earn way more than CEOs of most Indian companies being a L3 dev.
@sagarranjan4585
@sagarranjan4585 7 месяцев назад
@@jal.ajeera you probably never heard of sectors like Investment banking, private equity, hedge fund, strategy consulting, product management etc. That's where good students go or want to go. It pays more in both US and India than IT. Only bang average crowd stays in IT for more than 5 years. However good you become, there's a ceiling in IT.
@jal.ajeera
@jal.ajeera 7 месяцев назад
@@sagarranjan4585 Lol. Clearly you shouldn't be advicing young generation because your own understanding is so skewed. Even in service companies, a good senior engineer hits upwards of 15L and if they have switched multiple times, it'll be more than 25L easily. Abroad, you are getting paid 180k as a median number for an L3. Product management of IT products get similar or higher. Investment bankers' median salary is much lesser. Also, IT has a massive requirement for resources. There is a limited ceiling for resources in finance. If every engineering graduate leaves IT after 2-3 years and joins finance/consulting, as per your advice, quite literally they will be jobless coz there aren't enough jobs in finance to handle these many people. I think you were a mediocre/bad engineer, hence couldn't hack it in IT. It's great you found your calling, but calling IT 5+ years experience mediocre, especially when those people will make your financing job obsolete in the future with AI, it takes a special type of moron to come to this idiotic conclusion.

The video is overall good. Some points mentioned by the speaker are not right. An HR perspective is often partial and does not reflect the real issues. Listeners must explore talking to technical and project managers before forming an opinion. This view of mine does not comment on the speaker who has spoken well, but is an attempt to point to other issues not touched upon.

I think this guy didn’t do his research properly, There are a lot of technical guys who get paid more than management roles. Technical architects have better job security than all the Managers because you will find thousands of these MBA grads in market but very few technical experts for specific domain. If you are asking for my credibility let me tell you that I did my graduation from a 3rd tier state govt run College in Mechanical Engineering, I had to move to Bangalore to give off campus Interviews to join a service based company and later moved to a product company. So I am exactly the kind of person mentioned in the video. And let me tell you the ground reality. The companies dont hire on the basis of your degree but you skills. You may be from IIM but if you cant sell shit then you will be booted without questions. So the most important thing is to grow your skill focus on yourself. Dont listen to these sort of fear mongering videos, you will only loose faith in yourself.

This video i so far from reality just for the reason of being totally one sided. I my self am a Product Manager but the shit bombs that he is dropping on technical roles is utter nonsense. The main issue highlighted is about slow growth and lesser starting salaries. I do agree that starting salaries by mass recruiters should be adjusted but it is not that simple. Before I explain that, he is mentioning about creator economy and video creator as being the answer to this problem. A few questions - does content creation pay off lakhs from day 1? Isn't it has competition? Doesn't the really talented make success there too? If you are hard and smart working, then you will pick up pace even if you start small. The point to start from somewhere. Star small, build big. The problem with today's so called influencers is that they are preaching the young generation to start big or not at all. This is not practical in most cases. Don't listen to such influences who just want to sound smart but are they really?
