The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World has a dark secret, it's dark rotation. The dark rotation was a series of locations in the attraction that cast members would sit, hidden and monitor guests on the attraction.
Guest and employee safety is of utmost importance to all theme and amusement parks. Many attractions use a control booth or tower to monitor the ride's status as well as observe guest behavior. However, each tower is different. Some rides do not have a recognizable tower, but that does not mean there is not a cast member or system in place to monitor an attraction's operation.
