I can't picture Pop EVER trading for Trae. When your own coach sends you home and publicly states he's playing video games in lieu of showing up and supporting the team, that says TONS about the player's mindset.

I see Wemby's presence helping Trae more than the other way around. Trae wouldn't have the other team's best defenders on him anymore. Wemby will only be helped marginally. He's already getting tons of good looks or at least creating them. His problem is that he's an inefficient shooter. Trae won't help him there. *In the end, this will help both win more games.

Vet minimum for a 1 year contract is already almost 2 million dollars. And yes, nobody wants to pay a 34 year old busted up Cousins 2 million dollars per year to sit on the bench.

French twin towers in SA and a little PG like Trae would be epic but they're pretty much running that kinda experiment in Milwaukee RN because they got Lillard and also have two mere 7 footers in Giannis and B.Lopez. Obviously Lillard will be targeted as their weakest link on D come playoffs and so would Young be. Great 3&D's are hard to find and Bucks gave up more than they won in the 3-way trade. Despite the hassles, starting Sochan on point was much about coming to terms with small ball. As we've seen it's run its course in GSW. Running a big guy on point might just be the future of the league. Trae should be in the conversation from next year but no hasty decisions. I idealize a PG such as Scoot, someone who's really young and been humbled already, who's a + on D and built like a train with a high ape index and that plays guard like a small forward.

The aren't two winning players in bad front office situations, because building a team around Trae Young is a fundamentally bad decision to begin with. Trae Young plays losing basketball, and should have NEVER been a first option on any franchise seriously trying to build winning team. Dame's career worst playoff performance, is statistically similar to Trae's career best playoff performance. Because Dame is better then Trae, at literally fucking everything. Shooting, efficiency, ball control, athletics, defense. The only thing you can even try to argue is that Trae is a better passer, until you look at the turnover rate and realize Trae's assist to turnover ratio is fucking garbage. Those are just the things Dame is undisputably a bit better at, by a small margin. Then you have Leadership, Maturity, and Basketball Intelligence, aspects of the game where Dame is literally twice the player Trae is, or ever will be.

First of all, Murray is a bad logistical fit, and wasn’t a position of need for Atlanta. Considering the price they paid for him, they probably could have gotten a top quality player at any position. Then, having to trade Kevin Huerter made it worse. Second, Murray is filled with underlying anger, an anger that simultaneously fuels his success on the court, and makes him toxic off the court, in the locker room, and during volatile in-game moments. Pairing him with Trae, a highly entitled ego, is a recipe for disaster. What Trae needs is a talented player with a personality that can temper Trae, to keep him in check.

At the time we needed a forward/big man who’s a great defender and could also pick and roll with Trae on the offence and then set up shooters around the duo to support them but oh well, guess it’s back to mediocrity for us now but that’s nothing new for a Hawks fan.

If you were a hawks fan you’d see that a guy who gets multiple coaches fired and teammates traded all while being inefficient and playing (somehow) less then zero defense is the reason why this team went from consistently in the playoffs offs as a 4-6 seed to “fans” going hey Trae score 28 on 69 shots going 2-23 from 3!!
