The AFL have completely cocked this all up from the start. They've let nameless, faceless players who don't even want to share the 'evidence' or allow themselves to be interviewed by the panel at all. They've apparently made demands which curiously enough are mostly centred around money. Now the AFL must tell these players to front up or shut up or just squash the whole thing. What an absolute conjob.
Well said and I totally agree. Anonymous people have been allowed to sling mud at people who have not been afforded anonymity without being subject to questioning to establish the veracity of their claims. The investigative panel seems to have its hands tied behind its back, which is why this is taking forever. Hawthorn stuffed up when they didn't send the report back to the author with the demand that for the sake of balance all accused parties be interviewed and to include their responses in the final report. The author appointed himself as judge, jury and executioner by including a statement about compensation for the accusers. This is and has always been about money.
The AFL are too afraid of being labelled as racist. They know if this case is thrown out, sections of Australia will label them as racists, old white men, etc. Gil does not want to be remembered as a racist so he'd rather handball all responsibility to an independent party and point the finger at them. Meanwhile, the alleged victims, Clarko, Fagan and the game suffer.
What a joke, faceless nameless, I have heard the trouble these so-called victims have created, and of course, no one in the media has the balls to investigate their behaviours, scared of being labelled racist. It's pathetic, just like Robbo crying on 360 when all this rubbish came out, but they were allowed to name and shame the accuses and left them out to hang.
Absolutely RACIST and appalling comment. You clearly made that "KFC" comment as it was directed towards the darker skin Hawthorn players involved in this saga, just because they are of Dark descent does not mean that they all love fried chicken. DISGUSTING!
@@nathrogers7 Allegedly there is a shitload of emails etc. Surely it would take about 30 minutes to check the emails that were allegedly sent to the club from these people and check the time stamps and see if they were ever sent or received. The fact that this hasn't been forthcoming lends credence to the fact most of it was made up out of thin air
There's a dollar to be made in making racism accusations. There'll be some sort of settlement, whether the accusations are remotely credible, or otherwise.
Unfortunately that is likely to be the case. This is all about money, so people can be paid to go away. If the AFL does make a non-disclosed payment then the accused might have a case against the AFL for reputational damage because any payment would be like an admission of guilt on their behalf that they haven't agreed to. The AFL rather than the accused making such a payment doesn't change that.
Whatever the final result is, there's zero possibilty that this can ever be viewed as being a just decicion. The complainaints can say whatever they wish, and the defendants are told to STFU
@@paulkyriakopoulos3444 Or when he accusers refuse to be questioned on their allegations. That in itself should ensure the whole thing is just thrown out, but I bet they still receive a payout, which I suspect is all they are after.
@@gustaaf1892 Well aslong as clarko and Fagan coaching and their reputations are not impacted . The accusers don't deserve money but as you say somehow Afl will pay them.
If this turns out to be that Clarkson had done nothing wrong then I really do feel for him. Hopefully we can get a result soon so we can all move on in this. Nobody wins in these scenarios.
The media, and journalists in general, need to take a hard look at themselves. How do they sleep at night? Revulting humans, preying off of the misfortunes of others. The way that they put people to the sword, they wouldn't last 5 minutes under the same pressure.
I dont think his reputation is being dragged through the mud. I think everyone agrees with him about the way it is being handled. Unless he is found 100% guilty, this will make everyone feel bad for the man
I think they should be looking at Jeff Kennett rather than the coaching staff. I don't think Clarko or Fagan would do anything that is considered racist. Kennett, I'm not so sure about.
This is more than a swipe at the process, I'd say this is as close to an admission as we're going to get as to how it all really ended between Hawthorn and Clarko but also, Clarko, Mitchell and Kennett. Particularly the end bit.
What, so you can attack them? After the Goodes saga, do you blame them for trying to stay anonymous? There's a whole hoard of footy bigots out there just waiting to slay them FFS.
Why wasn't all this racial crap brought up when Collingwood was going through the same stuff? The afl and media love this bulldust! I just ignore it and encourage everyone else to do the same.
They want to punish & shame the HFC in a trail by media for jeffs role in the 'Boyzclub book, that exposed the aFL commission & Gill for the joke of a boysclub that it is....That's just how petty & petulant Gill & his mates truly are...they're rather proving Jeff right.
@@paulk756are you kidding mate its a 1000% the same as what essendon went thru....trial by media, zero evidence and many leaks and harassment of James and his family pushing him to suicide. A moron is the only person that cant see the similarities....Clarko, Fagan and Hawthorn can suck it up as they were nowhere when it was happening to someone else.
They can't allow transparency because then their game will be up....they still can't get over Hawks fans booing their 'Project Goodes'....Because we all know that 'Booing must be racist'.....LOL.
Given the time-frame in question, then there's only 2-3 players it could be....Like to see the aFL try & prove that anything clarko & Fagan did or said, was fundamentally different to any other plyer who never made the grade.....I highly doubt it....anyhow, it's all just pay-back for Jeff sticking it to the afl.
If that's the case, then this saga needs to be wrapped up so everyone can move on with their lives. That's the point of what they're talking about. They aren't talking about whether he's guilty or not. They're discussing the handling of the whole situation, which has been shambolic.
@@jasoncarmichael4540 HOW was he caught being an abuser.?..It's all alleged at the moment and HE WANTS closure.. He could probs file a damges lawsuit on BS-talking like you are..Did you actually listen to Clarko?.... I'm a Magpie so I have no vested interest other than the right thing being done.
@@jasoncarmichael4540 Throwing out due process for unproven allegations for which they have refused to produce the evidence that they allegedly has. Says a lot more about you
Yep, him and Mitchell. It was more than a swipe at the process, it was as close as we're going to probably get to an admission as to how things really ended between Hawthorn and Clarko.
Agreed that the situation has not been handled well. However ,if he is guilty then any suffering he experiences is appropriate, necessary and justified.
And if he and the other two are innocent? Why were they named and the accusers who refuse to make themselves available for questioning have been allowed to remain anonymous?
Racism is a very sensitive subject and any chance of being accused of it can lead to a severe backlash, even if comments are objective and not racially motivated. In today's woke world people are effectively prevented from speaking their mind. It is a form of unhealthy censorship.
How so? Unfounded allegations they should very easily be able to be at least supported with evidence but none has been provided. Emails were allegedly sent to club officials. Produce the emails. Would take 30 minutes to confirm if they're legit or not
@@daniellebcooper7160 the fact that Cyril Rioli took that as racism shows how weak an individual he is and if he saw that as racism then that what he thinks of his own people which is disgraceful
@@smoothbeak I know quite a few, particularly with regard to Asian and aboriginal people. A mate I grew up with in Melbourne liked to talk about how much Asian people stink unsolicited.
