Man this takes me back to my childhood listening to Polka music as a kid with my grandma. And she was a big woman. And she loved to dance the Polka too! Love this stuff. With her being gone to heaven, all my polish heritage is really gone. :(
the elderly dancing remind me of croatian dinner and dance banquets i attended with my family when i was younger. My grandfather, my father and there friends would always play this song, but sing it in croatian. Brought back lots of memories seeing those old people dance.
This was one of my favorite polkas untill I married a fat girl. No regrets, my wife has been wonderful for the last 15 years, but I don't request this polka any more!
This was played in the 1930's. My Great Uncle was singing this in his General Store in a small town. He was singing, "I don't want her, you can have her". He looked up and saw a large woman and quickly changed the lyrics, "She's just right for me".
Actually, this is my favorite vocal performance of this, and the few older people polka-ing reminds me of my Polish family...and my Mom played the accordion, but wouldn't play this one! LOL I posted it on my facebook!
So reminds me of Sunday Polka hour on the car radio going from Toledo to Detroit to see Grandma. Stepdad 100% Polish American. Mom hated this tune!Me as a kid in the back just wishing the trip would end so I could escape to some Led Zeppelin..sighs..good times
I LOVE THIS YOU ONLY HOW GOOD A WOMEN LOOK BY LOOKING AT ALL THE WOMEN IN HER FAMILY AND YOU ONLY KNOW HOW GOOD A MAN LOOK WHEN YOU LOOK AT ALL HIS RELATIVES! I LOVE THIS ONE REAL TALK!
You'd never get away with singing this song in the present political correctness obsessed UK ! It would be considered not only sexist but discriminating against fat persons and you'd end up in court charged with 'singing hate songs'!
LOL my dad is one of the guys adding the "Hey"s (he's in the band). Love it - so happy to have some video footage! Classic. Should I have been raised on songs like this? Maybe not, but I'm glad I was! Let's get some of Elmer's landlers and the Clarinet Polka on here next!! (Yup, I'm Hall's kid...)
Lisa Kozma This is now a joke between me, my mom and aunt. A few years ago, Polka came into the conversation, and she mentioned this. Looked it up a few days later, and love this song! I refuse to listen to any other version of this song! XD
