I found this on your ipod when we were cleaning out your room. It broke me in spirit but brought me closer than I had ever been to you. You will forever be known as the best friend I could ever have. My thanks goes out to The Head and the Heart for allowing this heartfelt connection. RIP to my best friend Morgan Byrd Dawson. Love ya brother.
Wow. Nice Evan. I started listening to Thath at the beginning while a good friend was dying. This and Lost in my mind bring me back to the days of driving him to chemo and the peacefulness of THATH allowing him to rest on the 2 hour drive home. Love you Cork and I will see you again
I love how everyone is hating on the radio... I heard this song today on the radio in Milwaukee. Radio is not dead, you just have to listen to the stations that support local, independent, and new music
Just plain beautiful...well done. I am thankful that bands like this are still out there writing/recording music that will hopefully pass the test of time...a record of humanity as it is. Again, well done...
they are insane live! their concerts must be unbelievable. it feels so good to see some genuine talent and enjoy some genuine music. and to know that they totally deserve the success they are starting to deserve.
I remember the first time I head them on the radio....I was shocked because it was only like two months before that when they were playing at a round in Tacoma....They have so much passion and are amazing to watch. I can't even describe the feeling you get when they get on stage without a drummer and start banging there feet and just really getting into it...I love them so much!! I wish there were more artists like them.
Thanks to bands like The Head and the Heart gives me reason to believe that my generation will have great bands like the 60's and 70's had. Yes very bold statement but I am extremely thankful. Keep up the great work guys and look forward to seeing you live in a month.
I can't even turn on the radio station anymore, all that's ever on is a bunch if complete talentless shit. But when I find bands like this, bands that have raw talent and put heart and soul into their music without care to show emotion. It lightens my day. Good to know there are still musicians out there that actually have musical talent.
Saw them in Seattle last night open for death cab. The amount of energy and stage presence they put off easily made them the main attraction. Total fan now.
After seeing them in Bellingham two days ago and then in Vancouver BC last night I think I can honestly say they are my new favorite band! Amazing Live!!
Heard this for the first time today on the radio on my way to work. Had to search for it on youtube. Waited 3 songs later to find out the title and artist.
Heard of the band...but never any of their music before today. A old friend who i worked w/ @ a Schlotzky's deli told me to check 'em out, specifically this song. Was burnt out on all the same old stuff i'd listened to for years, looking for something new, something great....Boy, was she right. THIS is new, THIS is great! Thank You Erin. :-)
One more for the stars and the eyes of the walls, I saw your face and, I heard you call me out. I saw your face in the crowd and you came out. Just like the sun and the moon and the stars at night, there was a sign on the door and reads to me, just like the sun and the stars and the moon at night..... Brilliant.
The songs that this band comes up with are incredible. So many different parts and intricacies, soulful lyrics, and so many great things I could say. The one thing that is not allowing me to fully commit to 100% loving this band is the inconsistant vocals, especially in the harmonies. It kills it for me. Otherwise, they're amazing!
I was fortunate enough to see them perform as the opening act for Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds at McCaw Hall in Seattle on December 6th, 2010. I love Dave's stuff, but they were a hard act to follow, even for Dave and Tim. ;)
F**** brilliant ! Killer bunch, killer skills : love the lyrics, the beat, the voice ... Thanks for easing up my mind ! Please let us know when hit Belgium (again)
I wish I was a slave to an age-old trade Like ridin' around on railcars and workin' long days Lord have mercy on my rough and rowdy ways Lord have mercy on my rough and rowdy ways Call it one drink too many Call it pride of a man But it don't make no difference if you sit or you stand 'Cause they both end in trouble and start with a grin Yeah they both end in trouble and start with a grin We do it over and over and over again We do it over and over and over again Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh I know there's California, Oklahoma And all of the places I ain't ever been to but Down in the valley with Whiskey rivers These are the places you will find me hidin' These are the places I will always go These are the places I will always go I am on my way I am on my way I am on my way back to where I started Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh One more for the stars and their eyes in the walls I hail your face and then, I saw you standing out I saw your face in the crowd and you came out You saw me crossing the valley and you came in Look at the sign on the door and it reads to me Just like the grass and the sign when you walked in Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-oh I am on my way I am on my way I am on my way back to where I started California, Oklahoma And all of the places I ain't ever been to but Down in the valley with Whiskey rivers These are the places you will find me hidin' These are the places I will always go These are the places I will always go So I wish I was a slave to an age-old trade Lord have mercy on my rough and rowdy ways
@EpicTaleMedia Agreed! I feel the same way...thank goodness for radio stations like WXPN...check them out at xpn.org. I've heard Head and the Heart on there several times.
Heard this on wfuv this afternoon, studio versions harmonies are a little tighter, but still a great performance. They put on a good live show? I would tthink so
