Half of the population in Central Asia resides in rural or remote areas. Every year, three trains, equipped to diagnose and consult - to deliver health - cross Kazakhstan. This project is funded by Samruk Kazyna Trust and operated by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan.
Between 2010 and 2023, healthcare professionals on these trains examined over 650,000 people in Kazakhstan’s remote areas. WHO supports countries by providing public health and clinical guidance, informing practice with evidence and knowledge.
