He also addressed them in the part about bringing up his family’s name and discrediting decent people in Meet the Grahams. He basically said, “This is all lies and I’m not wasting time on it.”

Man's wasn't doing that tho. And also drake didn't even accurately recount what Mother I Sober was actually about. Kendrick wasn't molested. It was about how his mom believed he was molested but in reality he wasn't. His mom didn't trust him when he said he wasn't molested. That song is about generational trauma and it's impact in the black community and his experience healing from that. We aren't upset that drake is confromting Kendrick with his confessions. It's that drake is WRONG. Factually wrong. Plus, dudes tone isn't one of seriousness, it's one of pity. Having that tone being used on someone he is claiming to be an SA victim isn't the right move. The line "'Touch my body' Mariah Carrey probably got you reflecting" isn't usually something you would say in a serious way and it's really easy to view that as poking fun at people who have been a victim of SA. It's a bad look.

I know mother I sober, I know what it is about of you listen to what Drake leads into it with you'll see where he's going or atleast where I believe he's going. From my perspective mother I sober is the projection of trauma or one could say a misdirecting unhealed trauma, which Drake literally mentions right before he leads into talking about it, saying he's misdirecting that trauma unto him. He's also saying Kendrick is lying about healing from that trauma hence the line deep cuts that have now been infected. I also get what you're saying about how it can be looked at that way but I didn't get that simply because he didn't try to make it a pop song his tone of delivery was serious as he mentioned it's depressing and why he says he doesn't want to diss him anymore it's uncomfortable. The Mariah Carey line is because after all this still is a diss track he has to get back at him not just be defending. That's my perspective atleast

It's carried throughout the song framing which feels like a “you poor silly man let me talk to you.” Which is fine for a rap battle in general but doesn't feel like it fits with the subject matter or the fact he's claiming to be fact man but is giving no concrete evidence. The framing starting basically with I tricked you, then straight into why hasn't Whitney responded?, then I'm too famous to have done something and not been arrested... The logical reasoning of those points feels both a bit out of touch and arrogant. The declaration of being a war general etc but not really letting us in to how the plan was setup or giving any solid proof of the setup, then insinuated W basically owes it to someone or the public to respond solely he's alleged something happened despite even the fact she's not a public figure, and the “I'm too famous stuff” which feels clearly out of touch especially with RECENT celebrity fodder like for example p Diddy who is not in jail and was not arrested for the things claimed about him. That tone continues straight on with the presumption about mother I. 1. Because this isn't the first time he's mentioned something from the music that he's ignoring what the song says and speculating something else 2. Yes, but the way Drake presented it was confusing. He could've done a way better job trying to make the point there were double agents and clearing up the timeline which was also confusing. Especially because Kendrick wasn't even the first person to say that there were snakes in ovo camp. Did Drake plant info to weeknd and Ross too?
