Not only did they not want JJ, but they wanted all the dummies to think they wanted him. It's a big reason why the Vikings traded up for him, scared Sean Payton was going to do the same. In my opinion, JJ is the bust of this draft. There will probably be more, but he's the one I feel the strongest about. Bo Nix is miles better than him, and we didn't have to give up a fortune to move up for him. Win, win. People like Mangini and Brian Baldinger have some of the dumbest takes I've ever heard, yet they stay employed because they had connections to the league. Mangini was NEVER a good coach, and Baldy? He was never some All Pro, Hall of Fame level authority. I have no clue what gives a former OL the ability to be a guru QB predictor.
@@Dh-is5ro agree, JJ's draft stock started moving up right after Harbaugh found out the Chargers had the 5th pick, and he started campaigning for JJ to move up in order for the Charges to possibly improve thier options for draft or trades.
Bo has a 15 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio, threw for over 4500 yards last season with a 77% completion rate. He was the most accurate passer of the 2024 draft. I’m honestly really glad that the draft “analysts” projected him lower because the broncos got a great pick because of it. He kind of flew under the radar and I think coach Payton was really hoping other teams didn’t put the spotlight on Bo, I believe coach Payton really wanted Bo and I’m excited to have him
Because college stats always translate to the NFL😂. There was this qb that threw 44 touchdowns in the one season in the SEC, the best conference in college football by far. At the time it was the conference record for most touchdowns in a season. More than Peyton Manning ever did. That qbs name is Drew Lock. Nuff said.
I think a lot of the media and analysts outsmart themselves. Everyone is always trying to see things that just don't exist. I think Bo has great potential. I really do
😂😂😂😂😂😂 I said the same thing, everyone in the room looked happy to me. See with some of them guys on Nick Wright show are all Know it all. Boy what's going to happen when Nix beat Patrick, Nick Wright might cancel his show. Nix beat Hurbert when he was 18. The way Nix process, we will get the last laugh 😃 let them sleep on Nix.
Truth be told I think we are in a really great situation. Nix and Franklin together and his center , I think this marriage is probably best I've ever seen , like ever . Decent o line . We fixing to light it up Broncos Country ! Haters keep hating
There’s also a reason the Broncos yelled as loudly as they could that they wanted McCarthy and held Bo close to the vest so to speak. In the most competitive draft for QBs why would they constantly scream they want McCarthy if he’s their guy? It would be like having pocket aces and jumping up and down while laughing maniacally
The acquisition of Troy Franklin has significantly increased the odds of Nix being successful. Before he steps on the field he has a receiver in which he has strong chemistry!
Also, DUDE!!! Congrats on all the subs and likes and comments. Happy for you!!! You are bringing great content and it’s soo awesome watching and following your content grow
Who gives to craps what a failed jets / browns head coach has to say about how to draft let alone win in the NFL clearly he couldn't figure that stuff out.
Lol this guy coached in the nfl for over 20 years. This is the society we live. Some nobody like you can pretend you know more football than an nfl head coach. Lol delusional
As a head coach with a 33-47 record, the best rule of thumb is to believe Mangini as much as you would any failed coach. Ask the Browns and Jets. When you can't succeed as a coach in real life, play successful one on tv.
Haha Mangini does bring a good perspective though on the in's and outs of the NFL. But I agree, I don't just blindy trust his opinion. And I think he is WRONG about Bo Nix.
It's Jokic all over again. Outsiders don't understand, he can't do this he can't do that yadda yadda. Meanwhile Denver rocks with him and forces them to eat their words. Be patient Denver rock with the growth and silence the haters when it's time
I just have one question. If Sean really wanted JJ, why was he publicly saying things that would leave Minnesota believing that if they don't move up to get JJ, Denver would? If he wanted JJ that was the dumbest thing he could have done. To me, it's clear that Sean used the JJ hype to infect Minnesota with FOMO.
Mangini's take hinges on him being a master body language reader. You only need to watch the 10 minute interview Payton did with McAfee and Belichick immediately after selecting Nix to see how excited he was to get him.
New subscriber, here. Thanks for a fresh take on this subject. Not parroting the national narrative. Not adopting a fan-boy perspective. Balanced and fair. That’s worth watching.
@@JWLSports I can't think of one specific thing off the top of my head. Just that you seem to be thinking for yourself and making your open ended conclusions. You're leaving the question open but giving a different perspective from those who say "trash" and those who are all in. That's really all we can do until he plays a game in the NFL
The reason folks have a strong opinion about Bo Nix is because of his time at Auburn. He was hyped up and considered a failure at Auburn. They overlook the fact he completely changed his game but the credit for that change is Oregon offense which is false.
What is he talking about? There's literally video of them high 5ing each other and celebrating the pick. You might be wrong about that, coach? No, you are definitely wrong. How awful of a HC was Eric Mangina?
Broncos didn't want JJ. Only 3 people knew Bo was the target. Manning talking JJ in an interview was smoke. They had a fake draft board. They would have traded up for JJ.
Eric Mangini is talking out of his @$$! Sean literally said that he wanted to go fly to Bo's house and give him the news! How in the hell are these guys even getting paid? They talk out of their rear ends!
I dont understand why the questions are still on Payton. He won 8 games last year with a roster that should've won maybe 5 and a QB who was like a square peg in a circle hole for his system. I think this year we win at least 8 games if not more with some promise for the future with Bo Nix
Bo Nix was the Broncos guy all along. Benjamin Allbright (Broncos Insider) post it 5 hours prior to the draft on X that the Broncos were planning to take Nix. He was third on their board behind Williams and Daniels and there was no way they were going to be able to jump up to one or two. If they really wanted McCarthy they would have/ could have traded up to get McCarthy.
The reason why people think that the Broncos didn't seem overly excited after drafting Bo Nix is because its not like the Broncos were expecting Nix to go in the top 8 or 9 and unexpectedly 'fell' to 12. They always wanted Nix (presumably) and always knew they had to take him earlier than his value because the Raiders were right behind them and reports are emerging that the Rams were planning to move up and take Nix. So I don't know what the hell these so called experts like Mangini are talking about.
I believe it has a lot to do with the narrative of the so called experts and talking heads of these networks. Going against the grain is never popular even if it’s true and they would rather be popular. I believe Bo Nix has the potential to be elite in the right system because he is humble, has a good head on his shoulders and wants to be a sponge, learn and apply. Go Broncos🔥
Bo nix is in same division as mahomes so he might be a threat.. i like bo nix.. his name says winner😂 but he can definitely play... I think he will be at least top 3 QB in the draft
This is why the NFL is good! I cant wait to see what happens to this draft class and to this Russel with the Steelers, Aron with the Jets, Kirk with the falcons, CJ Stroud\Bryce Young second season, hoping the Chiefs lose lol, an too see my Broncos and Bo Nix.
I don't know if Bo Nix cracks the top half of NFL qb's as a rookie, but I definitely see some top 5 years ahead. There aren't a lot of people talking about this who's who of a running back stable we have all of a sudden, or the two OL that appear will be very coachable by Zach Streif. Once it all clicks, Bo Nix will have it easy, and the receivers will only have to just be decent for the offense to become an absolute truck. The defense is a few pieces short and has some question marks, but that can be the focus next offseason.
Yeah I think it's always difficult to predict the future with these picks. But I am confident he went to a great spot. And he's definitely set up to succeed. So the rest is up to him and fate!
People hang on to round designations for players too much. If denver got him in the second round they would have said nothing. Think for yourselves experts
Eric Mangini is a clown. He's like a film critic that doesn't have a clue. You go to movies that a critic like that doesn't like. Same with Mangini - he's wrong nearly all the time, so if he's skeptical it means things will turn out great.
Peyton Manning was running game for Sean Payton when he said we really liked JJ. Peyton has worked with Bo and gave him a recommendation to coach Payton. Peyton, Payton, and Paton. I know - it's confusing lol.
People have this theory that bo nix all his passes were behind the line of scrimmage when he throws 27% behind Russell Wilson threw 26% and drew Bree’s threw 27% of throws behind the line of scrimmage in 2020 everyone saying you can’t get away with that in the nfl is straight wrong.
Julian they’re mad they didn’t get him so trashing him is helping them cope lol he hasn’t played 1 snap and every body writing him off smh no patience at all just wait we all will see
Eric Mangini is washed up and has no idea what he’s talking about. There are multiple interviews and statements from Sean Payton saying Bo Nix was the pick the entire time. Nix is going to start day 1 and he’s a perfect fit for the offense. He was the only qb they wanted. They kept quiet about it and even lied about wanting McCarthy. Penix was a reach and a stupid decision since they already payed cousins. McCarthy was a huge reach. He went from projected to the 3rd round to an overhyped 1st rounder in 2 months. Just watch. It’s going to be fun.
No, that is stupid. You don't need to over analyze anything. Just read what is there. It's not that hard. What is hard is Andrew Luck, great QB. Got it all good size and very smart. Starts getting injured. That's really hard to predict. JJ McCarthy and Bo Nix are not that different QBs. What are they going to do wait till the 3rd round and lose JJ and Bo, get Spencer rattler that's your next option at that point. Top 10 that is a good question? I don't know. I see Bo avg 300 ypg 3 TDs, could be more with an elite TE. Bo can move around a little, too. I'd rate JJ, Bo, and Penix as B QBs. I'd be more worried about the top three being busts. Bears, wash, and patriots don't have very good luck with QBs and don't seem like very successful situations. Football media "Bo isn't very good" Me "Neither was Drew Breeze" Drew Breezes career was over after San Diego. Seemed to work out for them.
@JWLSports I get it, fans want projections, to know the future. Truth all, these analysts don't know shit Billy bean - moneyball. I, for one, was never sold on Russell Wilson. Never thought he was that good, Seattle had a great coach and team when he was there. I thought there was and still is 10 available QBs better than russ, especially at that price. Guys like kirk cousins, Joe Falco, David Carr, Baker Mayfield, and even cam newton was better than russ.
What if the reaction is because they wanted nix but not at twelve?!? They wanted to move back and get a second round pick but Minnesota took the raiders guy!!
What is all this Bo Nic talk? Like damn let’s talk about all the QBs or the teams who had “good drafts” and “bad drafts” could also talk about possible new coaching schemes
So I’m desperately trying to find other clips as well and they just don’t exist on these shows. It’s absurd. I finally found a J.J. McCarthy clip to do. Bo Nix for whatever reason has been very controversial so that’s where the media is leaning towards with content.
But it’s also on undisputed and first things first. And first take doesn’t have much about the other QBs neither. Really the only other story was the whole Kirk Cousins Penix story.
Oh goodness, as soon as I saw Mangina, I knew it was going to be some turd level analysis. I hate to say it because he's a nice guy, but Baldy? Like Mangini, he's another one where it's like what on earth gives that guy the authority to talk QB's? Go back and look at the QB's he thought were going to be smash hits. He's wrong almost all the time. These people are bloated media personalities who really have no sound analysis.
@@JWLSports IDK what his deal is exactly, other than being an embarrassment as a head coach. Decent coordinator. Other than being a former coach, he brings nothing to the conversation. I have no clue why he has this job. He's notorious for having awful takes. As far as Baldinger? He's just........ not real bright. Has a good speaking voice. Does well on camera. Former player. Other than that, he's just hot air.
I would like 2 know, where this ALL OUT LUV 4 the Michigan QB? He played n a pro set up at UM, that team was full of upper classmen? Which is Y I guess the overrating accours? N about 4 yrs, he'll b holding a clipboard sending plays 2 the NEXT QB? I personally, don't c where the NFL hype is coming from?🤔
@JWLsports People hate on Bo because these days people are too lazy to do their own research and form their own independent opinion. It’s easier for them to just regurgitate all the talking points that they hear the MSM spew. Classic example of group think. A lot like liberals lol
Nix will struggle as any rookie would in the NFL. Denver is not a good football team so expectations should be tempered, rolling out Wilson to start the season would be best way to get Nix ready
I agree start nix Wilson sucks so bad he won't learn anything sitting behind him you will only learn by starting right away and by learning Peyton's offense through the hard times all the way through the good times
@@JWLSports I just feel like the Jets are such a dumpster fire of an organization, it’s where potential goes to die. I think Zack Wilson looks terrible as a Jets, however, Sean Peyton is a bit of a QB whisperer and it wouldn’t surprise me is Wilson started to give Nix a chance to develop, always better to have time to figure out the NFL speed without the pressure of getting your head taken off
Bo is trash.. and the only reason why they got him its because Denver had 12th draft.. and they wanted a different QB but they didn't want to give the farm like they did with Russ.. trash draft
I don’t understand how #1 accurate passer in college history = trash. Can you explain that? I really would like to know why spectators throw shade on a guy who improved every year he played.
@@usopenitentiary Report: Broncos Called Bears About Trade-Up for Pick No. 9.. Do you want more proof? He is trash. If they didn't have all this issue with paying Russell Wilson, they would have traded for 9 or better.. they just can't afford to give more.. then they will have a great QB with a bunch of holes..
@@thereaper8148 that literally isn’t proof. Just because they called about trading up to 9 doesn’t mean that they weren’t going to trade up for Nix. So that literally means nothing
