Nick has ended up being pretty accurate though about him and Bills in the end. Nick has never said he is bad. The main issue I think Nick has is every year the Bills and Josh get ridiculously hyped by the rest of sports media as some unstoppable juggernaut that every other team should just wet themselves in fear over come playoffs - and they've never been that. @travisoshea there are a few issues with that scenario though. First we have to remember that while everyone says that Patrick walked into the perfect situation, the Chiefs only had one playoff victory in the previous 2 decades before his arrival. Andy Reid in the Alex Smith era notched one playoff win, that's it. So it actually was a huge jump from being a "kind of" playoff team to being a yearly superbowl threat. Also have to remember that Patrick's last 2 seasons have ended with A superbowl victory WITHOUT Tyreek Hill or any star wide out. Josh Allen has been through offensive line issues no doubt, but for the most part he has had really good receivers. I also question whether Josh constantly forcing contact while running is going to take good years off his career......
Here’s my take and you could ignore it or agree with it…Josh Allen was called a “bust” his first two seasons but that’s because the Bills had a horrendous O-line and his best receiver was Kelvin Benjamin…for him to now be in the top 3 QB conversation and consistently taking his team to the playoffs and winning 10+ games in the reg season and the division shows you his development as a starting player in the league…he doesn’t have the MVPs or 🏆 like Mahomes does but you have to be out of your damn mind to not see the talent in this young man…he single handledly changed how people view the Bills organization…I would go so far as to say Mahomes would fail in Buffalo because he needed to be with Kelce and Reid for his success

I agree with a lot of this as well minus the part about him being a bust but, that is neither here nor there. What was great about Allen is that he went to a QB coach and changed his throwing mechanics. He has talked about this and has openly shared it. That is what really transformed him.

He's Not overrated but he does make alot of mistakes. There were picks he threw last year that were just uncalled for while sitting in a clean pocket the one against Chicago for example. I watch the Locked on Bills podcast. Analyzing JA's INTs most were not INT worthy throws. A lot of the throws were the result of the Bills WRs NOT fighting for the ball.
Daks INTs bs Josh Allen’s are worlds apart different and yes you can “judge” them differently. If you go back to the tape of Daks INTs roughly 75% or more were on Dak because of his inability to quickly go through pure progressions. Allen at times would try to fit into some tight windows because he’s done it before and succeeded and also he would throw a deep ball on 3rd and very long, which is essentially a punt.
Josh is a beast and I won’t listen to anyone who says otherwise. I knew he was a winner in 2018 when he put the team on his back and hurdled a dude to gain extra yardage. He’s an athletic freak and is constantly having to go the extra mile to make the Bills successful.
Another podcast asked “ Would you rather have Allen with coach Reed or Mahomes with the three different Offensive coordinators Allen has had?” Secondly, the defense and Stephon Diggs fell flat in the games against KC and Burrow in the playoffs. Absolutely no pass rush, Diggs did almost nothing. Compare the defensive efforts in those games to any games the Bills played in the playoffs or regular season, even the regular season against KC. Lastly, when Allen left the games in the playoffs against KC, the team was either ahead or in a position to be tied in each of them. Last season, it was a chip shot field goal miss that cost the Bills the game. If the team had shown up in the final minute of each playoff against KC, the Bills would have won them all. Subscribed.

100%. Being from WY and watching Josh for maybe 10 years now I can confidently say, he is a risk taker. That’s ok though. As old adage goes, big risks, big rewards. The risks comes from a confidence in himself and his play makers. Play makers can’t make the big plays if they don’t have the ball in their hands. The defense knows this and they are paid to make plays too. I firmly believe that McDumbass is Josh’s biggest problem.
Allen does make mistakes, but literally every QB and every player does. The difference is when Allen makes mistakes, he has nobody picking up his slack and keeping him in the game. If he's off, the team loses. And he is off a fair amount given the amount of stress he's under. Despite all that, I think he's the most physically talented QB in the league. He still has work to do on the mental side of things, but having a offensive genius HC would have helped all of that immensely. Instead he's stuck with McDermott who, while not the worst coach, has offered Allen next to zero help on the offensive side of the ball over his entire career. Allen has had Diggs for a few years, and that's it. Not a single other top 10 or noteworthy offensive player to help him.

I am a Bills fan but have always said that if Josh Allen was in KC He would be considered QB one in the NFL. There is just no denying that the offensive coaching is simply superior in Kansas City.
The reason is becuse Josh broke all the conventional wisdom that accuracy cannot be fixed. And he has to be a bust. He changed how QB's are evaluated and GM's don't like it.
Even though he threw a lot of picks last season. Josh still had low percentage of turnovwr worth plays. Of course there was some bone headed picks, but over half of his turnovers were just bad luck. Tipped balls, balls going through receivers hands, and receivers who weren't running the right route. I believe an analysis went t through every turnover and came up with that.

There have been multiple times in the past few seasons both duing the regular season and in the playoffs where Josh Allen has come through and put his team in the position to win and something happens, like a defensive breakdown, special team blunders, very, very, very questionable and possible ignorant coaching decisions, and Allen never gets the credit for that. The fact is that Allen hasn't had a lot of luck go his way and Mahomes has had lots of luck go his way, but that doesn't mean Mahomes isn't great, both things can be true and Mahomes has had an awful lot of situations break his way, dynasties often have some luck involved duing the years.

Yea, Josh Allen makes mistakes. Of course. But I firmly believe he's a HOF QB. Is Mahomes better than Allen? Right now? Of course he is. He's creating a dynasty in KC. But what if Josh Allen was able to develop under the tutelage and offensive genius of Andy Reid? I think there's no question Pat has benefitted immensely from being able to play in Andy Reid's offense and be coached by him. I wonder what someone of Allen immense talent would look like with a HOF coach, a HOF tight end, a HOF receiver who breaks games with his speed(he no longer has him, but they won together), etc. Every so often, Josh has those perfect games(like against the Pats in the playoffs a couple years ago) where he just looks otherworldly special. Like he can't miss, like he can't do anything wrong. There's no denying it. The guy makes magic happen, and I don't know anyone who could have the interceptions Josh does, and still win his division 4 years in a row and record the most TDS in the league. He always makes up for his mistakes. He always takes the big shot, to his detriment at times, but he just does incredible things, every single game. He carries that team, every single year.

Josh Allen wasn’t NFL ready, he needed a good OC early in his career. He still needs a good OC, he’s not on Mahomes level, but he wasn’t NFL ready either.
