You can increase the vertical search range by pressing Change Radar/IRST search mode, it can even go up to 70° which means you can practically see things straight above you!

Yes, SPAA only gameplay feels slower but also more relaxed and I personally like it more because it shows that warthunder can be non-stressfull as well.
The reason it is non stressful is because it is unmatched and easy click to kill. This had always been the case when strong meta existed. Like when R-60 was first added long with Mig-21SMT/MF, when sparrow was first added, when doppler radar guided missiles are buffed, when AH-1Z was first added, when 2S6 first added. They were all non-stressful, but it cost other player's gaming experience. The only good news is curretnly this cost will not cause loss of player base since War Thunder is monopoly. Usually when there is such imbalance, it will cause significant player loss to the point even if it is non-stressful, you don't have enough players to soothe you with their bad day, since they simply switch to another game that isn't imbalanced.
@@8749236 that is exactly how spaa is IRL. playing a tank is also pointing and clicking when it comes to shooting a target, your darts fly direct do they not. If a jet can lock you from 8km away while being 6km above you and two click launch a guided bomb to your location, SPAA needs to be able to two click launch against them.

When you start a match in top tier SPAA its pretty wild how powerful it is, you basically create a no fly zone as you zap people out of the sky 1 at a time when they spawn in.

Then you have the Yak 1which faced reserves for years before they finally moved it up. Their armor is "balanced" by being artificially buffed (documented on forums in 2018), cold war era vehicles with capabilities they never had (both documented and even an 80s Soviet army friend of mine made fun of gaijin for). SU 25 at 9.7 with a broken light tank with IRST and proxy fuse as a paired premium to be used with it. People joke about Russian bias, the ones defending it are either RU mains or are Russian themselves
lmao the situation with the A-10s and the AH-64s (all nations) would never happen if they were russian vehicles. For the A-10s its artificial limitations of armaments, theyre the same exact aircraft; and before someone says it, the "early" and "late" thing between the Tech Tree and Premium variant is something Gaijin pulled out of their ass and never existed, because THEY couldnt find a way to justify a premium. (just give it a neat skin ffs) They need to be the same BR and have all armament limitations removed, they can and should be able to carry the same options and amount of ordnance. For the AH-64s it is outright missing armaments across all trees except more recently most of the ones in the US tree, they are all missing APKWS II hydras and Aim-9Ls. On top of that Hellfires are still missing the ability to switch between direct and ballistic firing modes. All AH-64s should have their full suite and the only exception should be is the operating country has an alternative made by them. (like most nations using Aim-9Hs instead of Aim-9Gs but they are identical) on the other hand the Russian equivalents of these aircraft do not have these issues. The SU-25's are the same BR as each other and are not missing anything or artificially nerfed in any way (as a matter of fact they are handheld by being too low a fucking BR), the Russian helicopters all have their equipment they are meant to have and all the ones in other trees as far as i know are the same way unless its using a replacement made by the operating country (which is fine).
@@raymarshall6721 That is false my friend, Russia military spending is at $66 Billion at peace time before the war in 2021 and that is more than France and Germany which is NATO powerhouse, and now they have the triple amount at around $150 Billion during the war economy, Also consider that in the USSR they have alot of unique vehicles that are technologically different despite the same chasis. For example on the mobile anti air assets alone they have TOR / OSA / Strela / Tunguska / Pantsir; and Buk-M2 which could be deployed alone without any support assets because it had own command and radar. In every notable Russian tank variants there is a big difference towards each other, it could be the suspension / thermal / main gun / protections and etc.
@@fire_drake12.arc.24 Su-25 9.7 battle rating is already low, in Air RB they barely survive and will only became a food these days, not only they fly hella slow and the fast jets could just outrun/outmanuevered for a better positioning before strafing them down, or just simply dodge their missile which is an easy task, if they gonna up Su-25 br it certainly wouldn't be fun for those premium players.
3:30 just before this u mentioned it doesn't trigger RWR. This is partly because IRST, but also because the Radar operates on a bandwidth that a lot of RWRs don't listen on
RWR pulls all radar bandwidths. They can only act on ones they are programmed to know automatically. In reality it would tell the pilot something is pinging it, just that it hasnt decided what.
It's more a matter of the tracking radar using a track-while-scan mode and electronic scanning to maintain a soft-lock that doesn't constantly ping the target's radar warning receiver.

Made it to that part of the vid, long format is perfectly fine. I think for me personally, playing multiple nations where the grind for something might take "longer" simply cause I'm hopping between factions, it's nice to see the performance of something on longer vids to help justify/motivate me to grind for xyz haha
No matter if you like CAS or not, it’s unbalanced. You literally cannot use any of the toptier jets in ground and there is little to no counter. That’s not fun gameplay, whether you like cas or not

The big 3 will eventually all have capable spaas with similar stats. i main Germany/USA SO yes i know how annoying Ka-52's are but so are every other helicopter

Pantsir addition is typical Russian dev method. Create the problem, sell the solution 1- nerf the existant thing 2- add the OP one 3- justify that addition by saying « look, it is needed » despite entire community feedback Remember world of warships ? Russian devs, same shit.

The reason it looks like the range is much greater than it’s stated to be is that your radar system is taking the speed and travel path of the target and the time it takes your missile to reach it into account. You can launch at an aircraft that’s 50km away if it’s flying towards you at Mach 2 at high altitude and your missile still connects with it close to the stated range of the missile.
The VT-1 missiles have already been brought down to 12km again. They have also been made unresponsive for the first second or so (among other AAs) So the FlaRakRad and IT0s are now worse than they were before the Pantsir
19:55 the reason the guidance is worse is the G-lock nerf, they were only 16 Gs on the 2s6 and the flrkrd (now they are 32 Gs on the 2s6) and they were affected by the atgm changes. Also the reason you sometimes loose lock is caused by your target vehicle nothcing you (flying at a 90° angle towards you) it messes with radars used on SPAAs and some planes, that is when you should switch to IR, it helps a lot.
To be honest i think AA is a good break in variety every so often. In my opinion i watch these videos to see if i should aim for the vehicle or skip it.
Cas was op at top tier, but mainly on the side that this vehicle just got added to. Now it just seems like cas has no chance if someone with mid level skill first spawns in this vehicle. I don’t think this was the idea of balance people had in mind when they meant top tier cas was op.
I watched the entire video hoping you'd somehow figure out how to track and launch the missiles at 2+ targets at the same time. But I enjoyed the video nonetheless!
In truth I haven't even attempted. It's a feature that serves little to no purpose in ground RB. The Krizentema has had this feature for a very long time, and to this day I have yet to meet anyone who's used its feature.

Exactly. The main problem with CAS was/IS KAs. Now it's even worse because other nations won't have any CAS up at all BUT Russia will AND also have this thing. Sure no bias at all right? I love seeing the people arguing against the bias point. They never fail to try even though it's obvious.
Got Pantsir-S1 and thought it will be OP. Not really. On the spawn after few seconds get demolished by heli and didn't even see it. In 6 battles got 2 jet kills.
Not gonna lie, quite enjoyed this vid. More slow paced. Not that I don’t like your normal vids! But sometimes I’ll do this to. Just spawn an SPAA immediately and play anti air all match. To me, it’s just fun.
They added for tunguska, ito and flakrad "new fly path" for sams. Basically now your sams doest go in straight line anymore. This means that you sam needs to adjust the path. For adjusting the path, the sam needs high G tollerance, and tunguska has a cringy 18G tollerance. So its bad. But funny thing, VT1-2 (sam from flakrad and ito).had 35g, so much to compensate this new path, but they decided to give them more 15G, so now VT1-2 can overload at 50G when tunguska still has 18G and the brand new pantis has "only" 32G. You can check this in the info about the VT1-2 missiles. Also they said a shit of nothing about this +15G at ONLY VT1-2.
Hey Justin i was wondering if you have seen the apds update gayjin did. They made it normalize on angle plates but it does on flat amour too. The conqueror has this problem right now and it is really annoying to fight leopard and tigers 2s due to the round not going straight throught the flat amour it goes to the bottom of the tank. The chieftain is the only tank so far ive found to not do this
I personally enjoy playing SPAA. I have recently unlocked the Wirbelwind and that thing is definitely an improvement over the FlakPanzer 1 and far better than anything the USSR has till the BTR-ZD. I would love to play with this thing but Sadly I don’t have a second life to grind away at WT to get to this thing. The only thing I have experience in regards to high tier AA is the BMP-2M and 2S38 on the test range. 14:05 This is very good advice at all BRs, even more so at lower BRs since unguided guns are difficult to aim at distant maneuvering targets. I will hang out for a bit to take advantage of spawn protection if there is a lot of enemy planes up (I did kill a plane by abusing spawn protection when he would have otherwise killed me), but after that I will move to protect teammates against CAS. I try to get relatively close to teammates while not exposing myself to enemy ground vehicles and to not get double killed by a bomb, but doing this have netted me far more plane kills than I otherwise would have, since planes make themselves an easy target when they are about to attack a tank and often flying towards my direction, meaning that I will shoot them down 7/10 times in a good AA.
Pantsir is still most dangerous spaa to CAS since RWR doesnt go off, But you can see the S1 ping on the RWR which means one is looking at you. Climb a little fire a mav and go defensive. Pantsir wont hit you if your aware of it and you play your cards right.
The 2S6 Tanguska was the best SPAA in the game. I have all top tier SPAAs. The Tanguska was slowly nerfed over time, for obvious reasons. Gaijin knew they gonna introduce the Pantsir. Now they can tell the Tanguska sucks and the Pantsir was needed. Gaijin should not fool the old players, because I’m principally not against the Pantsir, besides the Russian bias. But Isreal and other nations are actually desperately need SPAAs. Sometimes I don’t understand Gaijin.

Honestly the game needs Better AA in game to balance out CAS at top tier. Either by introducing new vehicles or increasing spawn costs for those vehicles. Make ground RB for GROUND VEHICLES
'Tunguska is significantly inferior to other top spaa' And then there's me at top tier in the Type 93...because I have no other option, and instead of a good spaa we got a plane that Japan didn't even use or want, and a premium that is full of confusing design choices in terms of balance.
top tier cas is the only reason I was even playing ground, now these just slap me soon as I spawn in, like ok enjoy your tonks I'll just chill in air RB I guess lol o7

That's not what TWS means, means Track Whilst Scan, you can detect other aircraft and lock onto another, russian 8.0 SPAA cannot do this. As for not pinging RWR, the radar is K band frequency (microwaves) hence why it doesn't ping like the 2S6 does.
This is satisfying to me watching cas get a rocket up there backsides after driving 5 done my throat in spawn after getting killed by the same guy so they can burn ❤️🔥
The missiles are always Proxy… The different modes you are Talking about just affect the flight path of the missile…the Mode Justin uses is the best because the otherones tries to lead the target which often doesnt work that well
yes I loved this vid coz as a not-very-good player who enjoys aa I often die coz I can't lock it or its out of range and often die from drones in tanks or aa I wish there was a better vid out there that explains and teaches how to be better in the drone age
I am mostly pissed ofd when they decompressed top tier . Because 2s6 used to be 10.7 and the other top tier spaa used to be 11.0 then they moved the 2s6 on par with the others and then we had new br changes the 2s6 had its br unchanged and the adats and the flarakrad where moved to 11.3. Thats a huge mess up in my opinion.
