Love this! Thank you for putting this together and posting. I stayed in Los Angeles for a couple of months around 1976-77, but wasn't aware this had gone up. Folks interested in that Gower Gulch vibe should check out the 1975 (perfectly timed to this little monument being created) film, "Hearts of the West", which captures the spirit and character of these B-western times perfectly. Goofy, hilarious, endlessly quotable and humane. Probably my favorite movie about Hollywood.

Very cool! Someone can make a great movie about Gower Gulch in that time period. Like a few actors living their daily lives but each have a different experience at the same time? Like Tarantino style.

Fantastic! I’ve been to that corner many times in the 30 years I lived in LA. I wish WAC would release HEARTS OF THE WEST on Blu, a pretty good movie about those good old days of Gower Gulch during its big show.

So interesting to see this place in a modern setting where no one really cares about the history - my wife is always happily distracted by the Starbucks here while I gawk at the portraits and get yelled at by drug addicts lol
