Well you can’t start players like Murphy and Amirion if you are serious about progressing. Miley needs to be ahead of Longstaff in the pecking order as well, or just sell him to Leicester. Burn must play far fewer minutes. Dubravka is going or won’t be involved in matchday squads anyway. I can live with Trafford being second choice keeper. We should battle with Dortmund for Guirassy. Joelinton staying fit is a slight concern.
I will seriously miss Trippier and Almiron. Being from USA I've become a big Newcastle supporter. I really became a fan in around 2009 and always paid attention but the last few years I've really bought into the team and learned so much about the city. The current team of players are who I know the most. They're hard working and work for each other yet talented as well... Trippier and Almiron really represent this version of Newcastle well. I understand why the decisions need to be made but I'll certainly miss those two specifically as this squad was really the one I got to know. I also know selling them can really help bring in bigger and better things so while sad it should lead to a very strong squad moving into next season!
All player gets older or outgrown by the club and it's time for them to move on, there is no room for sentiment in football., they will always be remembered fondly.
I won't shed too many tears if Minging Almiron departs. We need a proper upgrade for 2025 on him. I know he is a fan fave and it is not personal but my patience bank is bankrupt with him. That purple patch that he had seems like a very long time ago now.
Much as we might love Miggy he is not elite level, he is not good enough for Newcastle to be where they want to be. Eddie has to be brutal, buy better and let go hard working, loyal servants like Almiron if he wants to be here and win trophies in the long term
Give it up Eddie - the team didn't perform when they should have to ensure European football next season. It's a bitter pill that has to be swallowed. We lost a season in our development - move on.
