Awesome walkthrough. Solid organization with a lot of thoughtful intention of layout and priority. Nice details, too. Love how all of the husky mobile tool chest/workstations are all the same height.
Very, very impressive. As I look at the organization, neatness, etc. I am every few minutes thinking - all of this took more than 30 minutes to get it looking like that. And you have room for expansion. And as all woodworkers know - it is all "my" shop. Hubby's stuff got to go to the outside building.
@@wood_brain I love that there is dedicated space for surfboards, surf stuff and even a box for time travel stuff! Its really a great space! well done!
Every time you opened a drawer I was like 😮😍 this was very organized and well thought out. The way you kept your fathers tools, incredible, I absolutely loved it. Now I have a whole new inspiration for my tool set up!!! I can’t wait to see the different things you make in this beautiful garage.
This was such a hopeful video to see as my garage looks like yours did previously. I wear my ocd badge with pride and this is my level of awesome & functionality. Since I have heritage tools also, I’d like to recommend a cleaning & sealing. Example, (1.) place your small “demo” hammer in a pure white vinegar bath for a couple days (metal only & submerged). (2.)Rinse with water. (3.) rinse with baking soda to neutralize acid. (4.) wire wheel clean. (5.) soak in used motor oil (I let it set for about a day). Lastly, I wipe down and place back into circulation. Keeps toolboxes clean but most importantly they’ll keep in good condition for whichever of my kids inherits them. Good luck & thanks!
Wow thank you so much for the helpful tips I’ll definitely be sure to use them to clean a few of the tools that I need to take care of … good luck with your garage I wish you the best friend
That is a very gorgeous workshop. Very nice design and I love the fact that everything is noble and can be moved around as you need it too. I can’t wait to see what projects you pump out of this dream shop. Take care
Fantastic workspace loads of room to upgrade as you go, it's all super organised and you've really thought through the workflow, well done very enjoyable and inspiring to watch 👍
Way to go, Girl! My favorite, next to Webers tour. I have a very small s[ace to work in in a lot of the same material and tools that you have. Great space!!!
Truly inspirational! My wheels are really spinning watching your organization. I’ve been realizing lately that the huge open shelves I have are pretty dysfunctional and a waste of space, especially because I only use the stuff on the front 6 inches of the 2 foot deep shelves. Thinking about a row of low tool boxes with drawers and work bench surface above for bench top tools.
Looks super nice. I like that its clean, bright, organized, very logical layout of storage. I like that many things are on wheels so it can be moved around. I like the open roof (al thought it would not work where I live) and the extra storage and openness that brings. I did not see a vac or dust collector so that is something you might like to add in future. From what it was before, an amazing transformation. I think your dad would have liked it. Maybe you can come over and help me organize my place. 🙂
Thank you so much Robert I’m stoked with how it turned out I have a large shop vac at the moment but I will be adding dust collection as I realize that was a afterthought that I did not plan for and really do need!!! where are you located? maybe I can make a weekend of coming by your place. 🙃
So happy to have the first of many joyous Lindsay videos. You are an artist and an inspiration. I'm trying to design a garage storage space that has barn doors to hide away storage, and bullhorn bike hooks attached to the doors for bike display/storage. LMK if you have any ideas!
Thank you so much for watching glad you liked it I’m still trying to find a way to hide our bikes for storage… I’ll be sure to let you know if I come up with anything creative and I’d love to hear if you come up with anything as well
Love the set up you have! Something I recently discovered is evaporust. Great for rusting tools, just drop them in the liquid over night and the tools come out without the rust!
At the 5:54 mark where you are going through the tool chest with your dad’s tools. What you are calling chisels look more like a hand carving tools- a real nice variety actually if they are sharp and of good quality.
Killer makeover. Living in Southern CA 2 miles from the coast I find I have a "rust" issue when I store tools with rust in the same drawers with new tools.
I’ve found I’m having the same issue as well… I need to spend a day and just really clean all of my rusty tools and give them a good coat of WD-40 thanks for watching and commenting
Love how you have everything which works for you. I noticed that you have (like I do) a lot of rusted spade drill bits. If you lightly spray some WD40 over them every few months it will prevent them rusting. You also uploaded about an hour and fifteen minutes of blank screen.
Thank you so much for that tip, I’ll definitely use WD-40 from here on out and I just fix the video thank you again for the heads up weird how that happened. Thanks for watching
Hi I’m wondering if you primed the ceiling beams/whole ceiling before painting it all white. I’m planning on doing the exact same thing tomorrow morning with my Wagner sprayer
Great garage & video! Love the black and white theme esp the old tools painted black. Two questions: Where did you get the height-adjustable table used for table saw outfeed? What's up with the black Makita drill/driver pair--are they factory or custom? TIA
Hi Bob thanks for watching and commenting glad you enjoyed my set up… The adjustable table is by Husky and I got it at Home Depot the black Makita drill driver side is standard also found at Home Depot
