Channel tags don't work anymore. RU-vid even put a note saying so, on that section when you upload a video. You have to put all that junk in the video description now.

I've tried posting "official audio" videos with a fancy animation, those get absolutely dreadful views and click through rate and basically drag down the channel's average stats. I think it's best to directly post the music video which brings the most value. Anyway, all this advice sounds good, but when you already do all the tags, keywords, thumbnails, have a solid channel presentation, community posts, comment replies, but the music videos get 300 views... When the shorts from the music video do 30 views, the IG reels 50 (and consistently get shown to a whopping 3 non follower accounts), and literally no one ever clicks on the links... it kinda feels like whatever I do, it just has no effect.

Is there anything that you can correlate/contrast between similar figures in your genre/space? Are the videos shorter? Longer? More colorful? Louder? Higher quality? Build curiosity from the beginning? How long have they been doing it? Do they already have a community? Where do they live? What types of comments are being left for their successful videos, are they reactions, questions, sharing? At the end of the day, all of these platforms focus on the content that makes people engage and or stay on the platform longer. Sometimes writing down all of these metrics side by side can be helpful for comparison.

Absolute banger, I didn’t think there was so much more I could do up my YT game. 1 question.. How do you approach naming and descripting RU-vid shorts that are repurposed from Tiktok? I've tried using the headline or caption and it never seems to work. But when I use “If you listen to XXXTentacion & (insert artist here), ur gonna love this” I often get better results. Any insight?

Thanks for the helpful tips! I wanted to let you and other musicians know that I have had a recurring issue with copyright infringement notices that are generated when I post a video with my own songs. I own the sole copyright to my songs registered with the library of Congress for all of my music and yet on RU-vid these fraudulent ridiculous notices often appear. Then I have to take the time to dispute them or provide a copy of my copyright, or other irritating and time consuming efforts to get whoever it is to stop! I wondered if anyone else has experienced this issue?

It depends what your goal is. For content strategy in general/building a brand, you would follow almost all of the same steps but change the content to cater towards what you do and are trying to promote. Helpful mixing tips, beginner composition mistakes, highlighting the work you do and the type of person that would benefit from it, etc.
