@@Zephyr_Weiss actually they're correct on this one. Hideaki Itsuno was describing "chu-ni" which is the concept of what could be considered cool to a pre-teen or teen, not shonen.
This in-depth history of the DMC series was very thorough and well-made. It was nostalgic as heck! The narrator's overreliance on "RU-vid Script Reading Voice" is my only complaint.
I had 2 when I was very young on ps2 came with 2 disks never played it much tbh had no idea what I was doing I was like 7-8 at the time I think but I’ve got the hd collection now and 4 and 5 all for £30
I'm a bit surprised at just how comprehensive and well-structured this piece is. It's obvious that a significant amount of time and effort went into it, and that's much appreciated.
Yeah This video is really well done They never mention how funny it is that the ninja theory dante debuted in playstation all stars but its still an awesome video
DMC 5 will be the new king of action game of all time! I cannot wait, dmc is the best! A must buy, play the whole series before dmc 5, I highly recommend it!
Devil May Cry 5: the rises of a Legendary franchise. Devil May Cry 4: acceptable. Devil May Cry 3: the Best. Devil May Cry 2: the Worts. Devil May Cry 1: a classic.
@@kakun723 is IS an alternative timeline. DMC2 is the forbidden game we don't talk about, yet has ironically returned to the conversation (thanks for that capcom)
While I've not seen this yet I thought I'd scroll the comments as I know these games journos cannot mention DmC without saying "b-b-but it was good and it was only the hair! Nothing to do with the colour coded enemies, lack of lock-on despite two dodge buttons and it being more like Heavenly Sword but with a jump button than Devil May Cry!" I'd honestly be more surprised if that didn't happen, but after all it is Gamespot, and I can remember seeing a video from them with some clown saying about how DMC5's marketing is throwing DmC under the bus by simply saying "Devil May Cry is back!" Utterly ridiculous. No matter how many times they put the Devil May Cry name into the title, it's never gonna be like DMC.
i've read the light novel of devil may cry 5 what is a prequel to the upcoming game theres a chapter with lucia i don't know if she will make a cameo but i sure hope she does
@@ChrisBa303 If you're gonna make a history video on a series you should probably pronounce the characters names right. It's like if a history book misspelled the name of a country or leaders in history wrong.
I can't wait to play DMC 5, the kings are back and it is going to be one hell of a ride, I'm interested in the story too, so it is a win situation for all Devil may cry fans, let's rock baby!
Having steamrolled the series again in prep for DMC5, I have to say that DmC has actually aged very well. The combat is arguably the best in the series, and being open to the idea of an AU (with crossover potential!) actually makes it a lot more palatable story wise. I still wouldn't go so far as to say the story is particularly good, even amidst DMC games, the characters on their own are decent and the combat is top notch.
Me in my opinion Dmc was the best fighting game I ever played. Then I played Devil May cry 4 it was great I liked it. What I really want After Devil May Cry 5 I really really want DmC 2
You need to take pride in those transitions (changing the ps2 setup to a ps2 setup, slapping the hand reaching for pizza, etc) Those are pretty damn good
@@JeanLucSeipke my point is still valid , dmc reboot fail is not worthy to be called a Devil may cry game , didn't even make sense this name in the reboot , the theme about the original DMC what really means to be a human or a demon and the difference between them , don't even is explored in the reboot because the protagonist is not even human , there are demons in the original DMC games that understand more what a human is than the donte from ninja theory
DmC was easily my favorite in the series. The smoothest and varying combat. The stages and bosses that were so unique and monumental. It's like when I played god of war for the first time. I had played others before then but this was my favorite. Also played on pc..may have had something to do with it
People shits on DmC but to me it's one of the most enjoyable game I've played, helped me through my depression (and I've played both DMC 4 and 3 before)
Dude.... when I first saw Nero... I was so weirded out because he did not look at all like his dmc4 counterpart at all. Only the red rose gave me indication it was him
Of course they think it was the hair that was the problem. Of fucking course. Who wants to play that game journalist inspired bingo game that was posted on the subreddit?
Ditto, it's my favorite game series cause my grandmother got me into it. Though I do like the reboot, I couldn't count it as a true dmc game cause of the forced playstyle it made you play on certain enemies, I consider the definitive edition more dmc then the original 360 release. I did enjoy it, but I'm prefer the canon series over the reboot. It's still fun to visit after a little while
I’ve got a right unpopular opinion but I’ve played every devil may cry starting with the launch of the first one back in like elementary school or so but like I fucking loved DmC. Had my favorite rendition of Dante with the most balanced tongue in cheek/ brooding personality. Cool as sidekick. Cool ass story. Loved the They Live influence “consume”, “obey”, etc.
