The reason why the company is successful is great parenting of not rasing rich spoiled cokehead children and the artistic gene that has been there for generations because it is so rare for a family business to survive that long.
@AA A - I was surprised by that relatively brief training period, too. Perhaps the leather workers come to the company already possessing leather skills?
It allegedly had happened in Switzerland but the shop clerk is absolutely denying this all ever happening! She'd never ever refuse to show a bag to a customer. Google it and judge for yourself. I'd like Hermes to use one of my designs/artworks for e.g. a skarf or bag but using RECYCLED materials, and give ALL the profits to build social housing - and give me and people who need them one of the houses to live (and do my art) in too - and enough money to pay the bills/live a decent life = here in the area where I live, and more all around the world plus solar panels, ECO housing/communities, gardens, transport... = I wish... They have the power to do this, maybe they do already and if not why not collaborate with artists like this for the common good?
The bag is so boring and so outdated design, also way to expensive. If you compare to other brand like Louis Vuitton or Chanel, they more interesting design and the price less expensive.
Totally agree! Not impressed of the design or the material. Created a brand of exclusivity so therefore everyone would want to be part of the club. A classic introduction to sales 101.

OnWingsOfHope read again. A brand known for handbags, worn by women. Is run by men. Did you not watch the video? Men make the designs, family own company ran by men. This fascinated me. This was my take away from the video.
The fashion industry and a large chunk of the makeup industry is particularly ran by gay men. Basically anything aesthetic is ran by gay men. We just have an eye for it.
I can't afford them and don't begrudge rich people buying over priced products , but don't pretend " profit " is not the goal , that's BS . You don't make or gross one " billion" , and face it the leather is of high quality ,but the difference is exaggerated and like diamonds they drive up the cost or value through scarcity ...

I once found a small black Hermes calf leather purse from the 50s for $3 on the thrift shop and sold it for just under $400 on eBay. I get that is a luxury brand but some prices are just too ridiculous and impractical to spend for. no bag is worth $1000 and more unless it can baby sit your kids, go grocery shopping for you etc. the leather is just as susceptible to damage as any other. thank god for materialistic people though.
They are hand-sewn in Paris by Artisans that have to train for years before they can work on Birkins. They are made of luxury leathers such as Crocodile leather and many different types of Calfskin leather. Hermès quality is excellent and sure you are partly paying for the name, but their bags last for many years and don't go out of style due to their exclusivity and the high demand for Birkin and Kelly bags.
Why is Hermes such Crap ???? Worst delivery service ever. You cannot even contact them to complain as no number available, Why do people use them - because they are cheap that is all.
That cream shopper bag reminds me of my bag I got from a flee market, only my one was £3 and was amazingly beautiful. These bags are made for fools not knowing the value of money, so serves them right!
