@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries That was a good one mate 👌🤣 I was at a forces reunion evening a few years ago, and one of the lads told the female lead singer of the band hired to entertain us, that... "having his eardrums shattered by a roadside bomb in Basra was more soothing than her voice"... I choked on my beer, and she slapped him in the kisser! I wanted to get a cheeky Simpson's reference in and say "you can't hit Lenny, he's a war hero!!" But I whimped out once I sore the angry red mark left on my buddy's cheek lol
Oh, wow. I forgot all about the Tiger wristwatch version. Now that I've seen it on here again, I now remember a kid in 1st grade had it and showed it to me back then. Thanks for the reminder!
Ninja Gaiden is one of my favorite series even tho I only got to play the nes version a couple of times as a kid I was hooked. I got to play the Xbox version a lot more later at a friends house but had no idea of the unlocks. So I learned something new today, thanks. I’m now playing the 360 & pc engine version & they are difficult as usual but a lot fun. Great video.
Still Sub'd and still loving the videos! They have given me comfort through the Covid epidemic and my wife leaving at the same time! Thank you so much!
Those later Ninja Gaiden games were extremely difficult I can't tell you how many times I cursed playing those games but I passed them all and there is no greater feeling then passing a game that's very difficult like Ninja Gaiden.
I’ve recently picked up a factory sealed of Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z at a mom and pop store a few days ago before you upload Part 2 series. I’m still soul searching for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for PlayStation 3, still no luck. Keep it up with your document series!
*PatmanQC* thanks for posting this video. I fondly remember playing the original Ninja Gaiden in the arcade. It was certainly challenging but oddly addictive at the same time. As per your PSA at the start of this video, I noticed I'm still subscribed to your channel and the notification bell is turned on. Since you took the time to correctly pronounce Ryu, I went ahead and gave this video a 'Like' as well. All jokes aside, I truly enjoy your content. Your videos are not only educational for nerdy gamers like myself, but you manage to turn up the nostalgia factor to 11! 😂😂
Great 2 parter video , I recently completed my Ps3 NG collection when I found and purchased razors edge and watching this was such a refresher to the series 👍
I miss those days, back when Chad producer Itagaki was making Chad ultra-violent and ultra-sexy games. They've gone down hill without him, NG hasn't had a new game since 2014 Yaiba, and DOA6 got such a low player count for a fighting game that it's barely getting any updates anymore.
At least we got Razor's Edge on XB360 & PS3, without Itagaki. It was a really polished game that fixed practically everything bad in NG3 vanilla. The dlc gouging was pretty bad in NG3 vanilla, too. Custom Ninjas, no censorship & a rich co-op mode were some serious icing + that fine-tuned gameplay with EVERY weapon. Only real downer was that much of the best customization equipment was locked behind that 3 player arena mode.
NG3/RE should have reached NG2 level sales and popularity. They had all the hype of NG2 going in, but blew it on release day because it wasn't RE on release. Difference is NG2 was made by a Chad game developer who was trying to push boundaries of everything he can get away with from violence and sexy women to limitations of Xbox 360. NG3 was made by a Virgin game developer who follows rating board rules and doesn't try to push anything, only doing the minimal.
Itagaki is a crackpot, evidently you haven't played Devils Turd. Team Ninja may have shit out Yaiba from the bowels of their offices, but at least they apologized with Nioh 1 and 2. DoA though? They need itagaki
Roo like the end of the word kangaroo is close enough. Plug this in and it will help リュウ・ハヤブサ. I have a friend with this name and he goes by your pronunciation in the states. This is because the Japanese is difficult for most non-speakers to say. I love your channel, and I love your videos.
When I first saw the PC-Engine version years ago, I was surprised that it was the same as the NES but with an entirely different soundtrack, except for the Stage Intro. It also goes by the full Japanese title of, "Ninja Ryukenden."
That kid in the Tiger Electronics ad sure did spin around a lot. Just like Superman did in his Genesis game, when prompted by the "Spin Here" sign. Lots of spinning in your recent videos.
I always check my subscription status on your channel. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and always look forward to the next. Hope you're well and thank you again!
This is my favorite series of video games. I had no idea how many ports there were. I had that ninja gaiden from tiger electronics game. I believe it craped the bed but I had fun with it. Awesome job with the vid! 👍
I'm never walking pass this gentleman's house on Tuesdays. Depending on wind conditions, I'll wait until late Wednesday afternoon to be in the area. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Big fan of the Ninja Gaiden series. I played the SNES and XBOX games. Good stuff Really hard (yet satisfying) I love the jog down memory lane. I don't game anymore but I'm interested in booting up my xbox360 just to play Ninja Gaiden II, which I still have lol
Great retrospective, a comprehensive look at the wall-jumping adventures of Ryu (REE-yoo) Hayabusa! I still have my PS3, I gotta check out some of the Ninja Gaiden games for that platform!
"If these the kinda girls that are attractive to ninjas; I'm going to start training to be a martial artist as soon I'm done with this video." That's a good one. After, watching the Tiger Electronic commercial. A though just came to mind. There is also a Ninja Gaiden commercial for the NES. Yes, I check the subscription tab and it is fine.
Very informative video. You left one cameo out though. The series, Nioh, also by Team Ninja, has a secret fight where you fight an ancestor of Ryu, Jin Hayabusa. Donning the same blue dragon ninja attire as Ryu, he is extremely formidable, and has near the same skills as his Xbox incarnation. Defeating him nets you his weapons and costume, and a chance at 2 special skill drops that allow you to learn the Art of the Inferno ninpo, and his famous Izuna Drop technique. Have a great day!
I beat Ninja Gaiden Black on normal on Xbox. I don't remember much about the game other than the feelings of frustration I had. One of the most difficult games I ever played.
I remember as a kid renting the original Ninja Gaiden for the NES from the local video store. They had it listed as "Ninja THE Gaiden", because they thought the Kanji for Gaiden on the cover was just supposed to be the word "the" in English. I... can kinda almost see it I guess?
Forgot you were doing a part 2 to this!. - If there's one thing you can guarantee it' s that all videogame characters will end up in a golf game at some point.
*I watched Part 1 and Part 2 of The History of Ninja Gaiden videos you made . I love both of the videos. Can you do a Bonus Video called " What we want to see in Ninja Gaiden 4 for PS5 ?*
I have subscribed, my friend. I have been watching for awhile and making comments and just realized I had not yet subscribed. My apologies. Still looking forward to a video on Gauntlet games.
You missed the fact that Team Ninja included the dragon ninja outfit and sword in the game Nioh as well as a secret boss fight with Ryu's ancient ancestor who was the dragon ninja of the era.
What a great episode. Surely i remember the DS ninja gaiden. I bought my copy when i used to work at blockbuster. Great retrospective on the series Pat. RU-vid had unsubbed me. I dont know when but i have returned haha. Time to binge on some of your videos. I have alot of catching up to do. Hope all is well my friend. :)
OMG! Im still rolling laughing about what Patman said about the music in Ninja Gaiden III for Atari Lynx. "I've heard better sounds coming out of a bathroom on Taco Tuesday" 😂😂😂😂 What poetry!!! Too Funny Patman!!
I'd love to see how the Hayabusa clan/ village schools and trains their children. "Ninja Gaiden: Children Of The Hayabusa Clan/ Village", a game where were see Ryu, Rachel and others like Ayane as kids in martial arts training with a Naruto manga art style to the character designs.
I hear RU-vid unsubscribes people that haven't logged in 6 months. Then when they log in again, they're resubscribed. Or so I hear as of maybe 5 years ago.
The NES trilogy is where it's at and I still like getting my butt kicked by it. I wasn't aware of Ryu in the Die nasty Warriors series though I guess I shouldn't be surprised given that Koei and Tecmo are one now, I'll have to check that out, thanks😁👍
I pronounce Ryu the same way you initially did. Same as how we pronounce RIE-U in Street Fightger. People can debate how it's pronounced forever, but I'm sticking with RIE-U personally :)
Best thing to do... Its always been REE-YU to me... But BOTH are actually wrong... So it doesn't matter! You can find Native Japanese Speakers on RU-vid who will confirm it is supposed to be pronounced as "RH-U" as RY makes a RH or ROO sound In Japan!
Absolutely love this series, thanks for the vid! Though I thought it was funny that you got the pronunciation down for Ryu but then proceeded to get Yaiba wrong lol. It's Yai-BA not Yai-BO. D'oooooh! It's ok though most don't care for that game lol.
Maybe I should make a part three with just the pronunciation of that word.By the way, I did go to Google to see how to properly say it so blame it on them.
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries lol no worries, I think Google messed you up. If you search "How to pronounce Yaiba" right here on youtube, a 43 second vid called "How To Pronounce Kimetsu no Yaiba" will come up and that should be it. Thanks again for the vid.
